  • How can I find my iPod touch if it got stolen?

Hey I got my iPod stolen, any way how to get it back?

    Look for it.
Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  This requires action before the device is lost/stolen.  If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

How can I use my iPod nano on more than one computer?

    Hi, China6450.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would recommend setting up Manually manage music.  This will only allow music to be synced from the computer to the iPod nano.  Here are some helpful articles that will walk you through the process.

  • How can I sync my IPOD Nano 4 to iTunes on my PC? I've already tried the sync button on iTunes and it says it is synced. I've also tried the 5 steps recommended by Apple to fix sync problems with no luck.

How can I sync my ipod nano 4 to iTunes on my PC? I've tried the sync botton on iTunes and the 5 steps recommended by Apple to correct sync problems with no luck.

How is your iPod configured to sync content from your iTunes library? Any error messages during the sync process?
You may want to reset warnings on the device by right->clicking on it under Devices and choosing Reset Warnings.  Then resync the iPod to see if any alerts appear.
Is this the same computer you normally sync the Nano with?

  • How can I prevent my iPod nano from turning on by itself and running down the battery?

I will arrive at my desk in the morning, stop the podcast I'm listening to, notice by the "play" button appearing on the screen and that absence of audio in my ears that the podcast has actually stopped, hold the big oval button down until the screen goes dark, and set my iPod down on the desk. Every now and again (maybe twice a week) I'll catch the iPod playing. It's usually off playing music (i.e. it's somehow navigated away from the podcast I've been listenting to and ended up in a music shuffle somewhere), and it will continue playing until the battery runs down or until I happen to notice it and turn it off. Doesn't only happen at work, happens anywhere...home, car. Result is that once or twice a week I go to use the iPod and the battery has completely run down.
How can I prevent my iPod nano from turning on by itself?

    Unplug the headphones.

  • How can I fix my Ipod nano 5 gen

I got a refurbished Ipod nano 5 gen at a Gamestop and I have been having fits with it since. I tried using it on my laptop and it wont show and I used it on the family computer and formatted it and all it shows me is that it is a removeable disk and thats it. On the ipod, it says that I have to restore it on Itunes then go to the "Do not disconnect" screen and nothing else. I have restarted it, the computers, updated the itunes on both computers and have gotten no where. Could anyone help please?

    Hello lexifoxxi,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a walkthrough on how to restore your iPod back to factory settings:
    Restoring iPod to factory settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1339
    How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
    Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.

  • How can I use an iPod nano to obtain music from iTunes without an email account?

I recently gave my 9 year old grandson an iPod Nano for Xmas.  He does not have an email account and his parents don't want him to have one, which I think is a good idea.
When I purchased the iPod the salesperson told me that it was possible to download music/set up an account, without a valid email account, but I don't remember the details.
Some direction to address this issue would be great.

If you are going to purchase music on a computer for him from the iTunes Store then it is necessary to set up an iTunes account which will require an email address. It does not have to be his, you can use the parents iTunes account if they have one.
But you can use the Nano without music from the iTunes Store. Just rip music from CDs the parents own into iTunes and sync those to the Nano.
Here is the manual for the Nano: http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPod_nano_6thgen_User_Guide.pdf

  • How can I use my Ipod nano on two of my own computers?

I have a notebook computer on which I registered(?) my Ipod nano.  It does not have a dvd drive so I can not load songs into I tunes on this
computer.  I have a desk top computer and have loaded my cd's onto itunes in it.  I have a "family share" account with Itunes and thought I
would be able to download the songs from my desk top computer to my Ipod.  It will only let after erasing the other contents on my Ipod.
Is there a way around this?  Thanks

  • How can I get my ipod nano (6th gen) to stop making a static-y noise when I try to listen to my music? It has been doing this for a week and the music is faint while the static is louder than it.

It has been doing this for a week and the music is faint while the static is louder than it. I try plugging it in to my iTunes and when I un-plug it, it still makes the loud static noise. I have also tried tapping my knuckle on the back of my ipod nano. This has not damaged it at all nor caused this to my ipod. There is no water damage to the ipod. Only a few scratches from a couple drops. The drops have been on concrete but not at a very high distance. How to I stop this? Do I need to replace my ipod instead?

Have you tried a different pair of earbuds/headphones to rule out a pair of damaged/faulty ones?  You might also want to make sure the headphones are securely and firmly seated in Nano's headphone jack.  Lastly, check the headphone jack for any signs of debris or damage.  You may need to have the headphone jack replaced either by Apple or a third party repair company.
I assume this static is present on any track you listen to versus only particular ones?

  • How can I unlock my ipod nano, that my 11year old locked up for me

Hello, help ! I have a new ipod nano almost 2 weeks old,an I let my 11year old son use it when he went to camp.Well it came back completely locked,as soon as I turn it on it shows a picture of a lock an asks for a four digit code.Am I totally screwed? If anyone can help I'd be in you're debt.Thank you.
    Greg

Use your iPod cable and connect it to your computer.
When iTunes opens, look for the name of the iPod in the Sources frame on the very left hand side under the category DEVICES. Click on the name of the iPod.
Move one frame to your right and look for a tap towards the top of that frame that says Summary. If it is not already selected click on it.
Look for a button on that frame that says Restore. Click on that button and follow the directions. After the Restore is complete if the iPod is set to autosync it should put music back on the iPod.
