How can I make a 2-D sphere rotate in Flash with 3D effect

Hi I have an image of sphere that I need to make rotate as if it were a globe rotating on it's axis. Can I do this without having to recreate the shpere as a 3D image?
I have attached the file.

flash can't make 3d objects. cs5 can make 2d objects that move in apparent 3d space but that's the limit of flash'es capabilities.
however, there are other programs that can be used to make 3d objects and then animate those objects in flash.

You can't do this using the ADF, Tree Binding used by JHeadstart.
However, If you have a recursive relationship (for example managerid) you can get a tree what you want as follows:
- create one root ViewObject that returns the top-level employees without a manager by setting the where clause to managerid=null
- create a second ViewObject that simply queries all employees
- Create a ViewLink between the two view objects, and create a nested VO usage in the app module for the second view object
- Create corresponding nested group in the application definition file and set the layout style to "tree-form" on both groups.

How can I make Keynote files read-only (eg: to share with students)?

I would like to share some keynote files with students, and I would like to set them up as read-only, so that the students can tap the screen, read my presentation, but not alter it. I've tried to set the files up as read-only on my iMac desktop, but when I load the file onto my iPad, it's still editable.
Any ideas re: how to make Keynote files read-only?
I've tried to export the files as PDF and load them into iBook, but some of Keynote's basic "build" functions won't work this way. Specifically, I have files set up with questions and answers (ie - a question appears, and you have to tap the screen to see the answer, but this "build" function seems to disappear when I get it to show up in iBook).
Any ideas how to make Keynote files read-only? I am happy to use another program, but I want the students to tap the screen in order to see the answer to a question.

as long as $PATH is set, you shouldn't need to reconnect them (i think). if you send the list of apps through | awk -F '/' '{print $NF}' | that'll strip the path

How can I make the best of my ipod touch screen with no internet connection??

I've been offered an ipod touch screen last Christmas and it's only a week ago that I took it out of its box. I still can't figure out how to transfer my music library from my laptop to the ipod. But I've installed some apps thinking I would be able to listen to my favourite radio station and play some games wherever I go and to my disappointment nothing's working if not connected to an internet connection. I thought an ipod was an improved walkman and actually it is nothing but a device that should be connected to the internet to work.
Considering that I don't have a free internet connection to the internet on my mobile phone, I was just wondering wht's the purpose to have an ipod? I really consider to go back to my old walkman... Thank you for your comments to help me to make the best of my Christmas present.

The message you are getting is saying that the iPod was previous synced to another computer. You can only sync with one computer. If you sync to another computer then the iPod media from the iPod get erased (as the message says) and is replaced with what is in the iTunes library of the second computer.
Syncing means copying (syncing) media from your iTunes library to your computer)
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
For not showing in iTunes:
- Try entering the screen lock passcode on your iPod if not done already
- Go to Windows Device Manager and see if there is any problems/unknown devices
- Can you not import photos from a digital camera? The iPod appears in My Computer like a camera does.

How can I make a user imported image rotate on a control?

I am trying to import a graphic to use in place of the needle on an indicator. When i do this, however, the image does not rotate, it merely moves around while maintaining its original orientation.
Is there a way that I can import my own image into a control or indicator, and have it rotate (pivot around some center) when given a numerical input, such as 0 to 360 degrees?

I do know of a way to import an image to control... and have it rotate.
Depending on the complexity of your image, a picture control may be usefull.
The Robot arm example demonstrates how an angle can be used to control an image. If the image you are trying to import to complex to code, this may not be viable.
If you can be happy with a reduce resolution (i.e. interger degree steps only) you could use your favorite image edit app to rotate the image one degree at a time, and then import each image into a picture ring.
All of these work-arounds lack scaling.

I'm working on a website for an archery club. Everything works great but I want an arrow going from one side to the other on a certain moment.
I cannot find a script that works like I want. The image should start out of the screen and has to leave on the other side with a certain speed.
I'm not able to write such a script myself. I'm not certain how or when it should start but I can fix that in the script I guess.

I changed the captions for my family photos to include names, but when I exported the photos to make DVD's for family members, the old captions were there and not the new ones. How can I make a DVD to include the new captions with names?

iPhoto shows you these Titles but the Finder shows you Filenames
If you export (File -> Export) you'll get the Export dialogue. Note the option at FileName to use the Title as filename for the exported photo

Unfortunately, for reasons unknown, the Keep this iPod in the source list option does not exist in iTunes 7.
So the first thing you will probably want to do is let Apple know your feelings on the matter by submitting the form on this support page .
Done that? Okay then, so now you'll probably want to make the best of the situation by figuring out if there's any kind of workaround to deal with the matter.
The best I can come up with is suggest that you create a playlist dedicated to your iPod shuffle which, for discussion's sake, we can call the Shuffle Playlist.
Once you have created that playlist, when you connect your shuffle to your computer you can drag the Shuffle Playlist into your shuffle.
After disconnecting the shuffle you can get to work on modifying the Shuffle Playlist for your next update.
Note that you will have to manually clear the iPod shuffle's contents before putting a new Shuffle Playlist on it.

How can I make a bootable CD containing a BIOS Flash for a Satellite A40-151

My BIOS is corrupted and requires reloading, but my Laptop does not have a floppy disk drive. I can't find any instructions on how to create a CD to load the new BIOS within the Toshiba site accept a reference to follow the instructions in the Toshiba folder on the Laptop. This I can't view as Window XP has not started because of the BIOS failure.
Has anyone any ideas or could someone e-mail me the instruction please.

Yes I have been to link you suggested but the section for a A40 only covers the process with a floppy disk, there's no mention of a process for CD drive only machines.
The reason I believe this a is a BIOS problem is that many web sites talk about resolving my problem by reloading the BIOS. They also talk about hardware checks which I have done.
Here is some more detail. My laptop crashed overnight whilst online. Possibly caused by a windows update as they are turned for auto install. Since then when I re-boot windows fails to load and I am left with the screen with the windows safe mode options. When I choose any of these windows starts to load but stops at the file MUP.sys.
I can load the windows recover console and have tried the repair option but this made no difference. I have also used CHKDSK \p and \r, they both found no errors on the HD.
I have checked the BIOS settings and they are all the same as factory default but there's no reset option.
So as you can see I'm bit stuck.
Any help gratefully received.

I want to navigate dynamicly between pages, but pages which addresses that are taken from database. I want to take a list of page's addresses (links) from database, and while application is running, I want to generate on my page that working links. This is functionality demanded by my little CMS (Content Management System), to enable me to add and delete pages and links between them.
But is it possible by JSF?
As far as I could find out, JSF provides such possibilities (faces-config.xml) :

Well, the subject says it all, I think.
I have installed SL, and now I want Quicktime Player 7 to appear in the right-click menu "Open With".
I have tried to rebuild the launch services database like this:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchSe rvices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
But to no avail.

I got curious and checked a couple of things with right click. Some items show QT7 as an option, some don't. One .mov file that didn't had as the default ( ! ) something called "QuickTime Player Launcher" so I went ahead and used that to see what would happen, and QT7 did indeed launch and play the movie. Yet another .mov file that showed "QT Player Launcher" and no QT7 turned out to open in QTX. The first one was made in Leopard, the second was made in Snow Leopard using QTX screen capture. Other older .mov files with the "QT Player Launcher" default open in QTX. I remain baffled by a LOT of the behavior with QT7 and QTX.
