How can i make a background color linear?

i want to put a background color have a linear effect, but im not sure how to do that. i want it so that it will fit the entire browser screen. i dont know a lot about backgrounds, i know that i can make a background color fill the entire browser and make a image repeat itself to fit the browser, but thats all i know.

WOW...this is exactly what i have been searching for over tha last 2 weeks but i finally found out how to do it perfectly.
I found the solution after analyzing a site i visited that had the effect i wanted.
Herez a sample of the page i created with the effect...exactly as you drew it....but with diferent colours,lol.
http://edutchz.freehostia.com/sample/
I have also attached bg.jpg with this post as well as the CSS i used; but to see them in action use the above link
Now all u need to do is create a sinlge strip of image....say 1000px wide by 10px high. On both exterior sides of this image place your linear colurs from outside inwards to cover say 100 or 150px....now do this exactly on the other side.....this will leave a central region with white colour.
Now name it bg,jpg.....use CSS to place it on your page....in my case;
body { margin : 0px;
background-color: #eeeeee;
background-image:
url(bg.jpg);
background-position: top center;
background-repeat: repeat-y
also change the background-color to one that nearly matches your linear img color.
Hope this helpd

    One can use a Layer Mask and add a white Layer underneath.

  • How can I change fullscreen background color, so that it is the same when viewing on mac and iPad? I want this to be able to use MathType in widget text.

    How can I change fullscreen background color, so that it is the same when viewing on mac and iPad? I want this to be able to use MathType in widget text.
    As an example, html widget has white background on iPad, and black on mac. The same goes for interactive widget.
    The MathType text inserted is inserted as a image, and will have the same color when in fullscreen as when not. So I need the textcolor to be the same in both views. Anyone know how to fix this?

    We're still not communicating. This is why I wanted an example .iba.
    Here's a re-creation of my own, going off what you described. You said "all html widgets and all gallery widgets" have this problem. So I inserted a blank HTML widget and a blank Gallery widget, and typed into both. Inserted a MathType equation into both. I don't see any difference when I preview it on my Mac compared to the preview on the iPad. I want to help, but I can't help if I can't duplicate the issue.
    I've attached the screen shots and the .iba file [link to .iba file].
    Feel free to email me directly at bobm at dessci dot com. If you're uncomfortable giving some information here, tell me anything you want in email. I work for the "MathType company", Design Science.

    3rd party image editors like Photoshop Elements for Mac can do it:
    Click to play video screenshot
    Or use it to keep an object in color and the rest B/W.

  • How can I change the background color of my podcast's iTunes page?

    My RSS feed just got accepted but now I need to customize the title, author, background color, and logo of my site. Does anyone know how to do this? Thank you!

    You can't change the background colour - it's white for audio and black for video. The other data can be changed by changing the appropriate tag in the feed, or if you're using a program or online service to make your podcast,. wherever they provide for entering this information.
    The title is carried in the 'title' tag; the author in the 'itunes:author' tag, and the 'podcast image' which appears on the Store page in the 'itunes: image' tag. Republish the feed after making the amendments: it will take a couple of days for the new data to appear, though the image may take several days.
    The image which appears in some podcasts in the bottom left-hand corner of iTunes when subscribing is not referenced in the feed but has to be actually embedded into the media file: please see this page:

  • How can I make Transparent background?

    I want make some part of JFrame as Transparent so that I can see through.
    How can I do this? any example?

    This is a bug that I personally reported and had verified. Basically, you can modify the color of GUI components' backgrounds, right? Well, the Color object supports transparency. However, modifying this simply doesn't work (I actually tried it two ways). At any rate, what I observed was that it DID let me do transparency, but there were all kinds of repaint problems. So when 1.4 came out, I thought they might have fixed it. NOPE! They just threw out the implementation, at least for now. Now when I run in 1.4, I don't see ANY transparency AT ALL!

  • How can I restore the background color Firefox 13 used for displaying images?

    I preferred the darker background color introduced in Firefox 13 for when images were displayed standalone, as opposed to the glaring white. How can I restore that behavior?

    That should still happen.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
    You can also check for a userChrome.css file with code to change the background color.
    The customization files userChrome.css (interface) and userContent.css (websites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

  • How can I change the background color?

    It may seem like a small thing but I am very disappointed with my new Motorola
    Droid Turbo. I use it at night quite often and so far I can't find a way to get rid of this glaring white background. Contacts, messages, etc all are blinding to look at in a dark room. The RAZR that I just upgraded could easily be set up to have white or sometimes blue text on a black background for nearly everything. This is a very big deal for me and a source of endless frustration as I look for a night mode setting or anything else that can keep me from staring at a blinding white screen in a dark room even with the brightness turned as low as possible. How can I go back to all that black that I loved on my older phone?

    Well there are Launcher apps you can Download that might help you'll have to check them individually,  you can make adjustments in your Back Ground lighting instead of using Automatic un-check that and use manual Drop the level to 5 to 10 percent that should help some,  I have my Droid Maxx set like this..

  • How can i change the background color in the mobile windows adobe reader app? i want to change it from black to white but don't know how.

    really want to change the background color of my documents in the mobile app. ive tried to search the answer online, in blogs and other various 'life hacks' blogs or articles, but so far everyone is talking about the desktop version. i really want to figure this out. is there even an option for the mobile version for windows? the only editing icons when a document is open are: export, home, make public, search in document, highlight/strikethrough/underline/comment and continuous/single view. if there isnt an option to edit background color, can i suggest that the makers of the windows mobile version make one, and make it fast please! any help would be appreciated. -CHANGE BACKGROUND COLOR
