How Can I make A Dialog/Frame Transparent

Hi
I want to make a dialog or frame Transparent. Is it possible in java. Actually i want to add an gif image on the Frame container that image is in curve shape with transparency, and I want this transparency also on the Frame in the java application. I m using JFrame with setUndecorated(true). It will display image (just image) not any Frame behind it, I any one solves my problem to make a frame transparent.

How can I make a paragraph rule transparent?

I have a requirement to use a paragraph rule but I need it to be transparent. I cannot figure a way to do this or via any other technique in indesign. In reality I want them to be included in a character or paragraph style.

My method is a bit of a tricky method, but I think it works.
Select the text frame, and choose Edit>Place and Link Story.
You are given a Loaded Cursor with identical text.
Place this in the exact same location and send it to the back.
Give the text at the back a Paragraph Rule above, to suit. And give it a white rule.
Change the Back Frame transparency to suit.
Then Make sure your original text frame is on top.
When you update the text in the main frame - then you can update the text via the Links panel so the rule behind suits

How can i make a swing frame block?

I have an application with several frames, before building a frame, I want to query the user about some information. So I build another Jframe, with some radio buttons, etc. and display that first.
However, the new Jframe does not make the rest of the program block, and thus the other Jframe is still created immediately...is there a way to make the JFrame with the query info block, until it is closed?

I put a button "yes" in there, and when the user clicks it, the boolean 'submit' goes true.
But, as you can see above, when i set the dialog frame as visible, it does not block on that line of code, rather it prints out false...

How can I make a top layer "transparent" to the end-user?

Got a quick question.
I'm working on a custom card builder and was wondering if there was any way I could keep an uploaded image editable to the end user. The end-user will be able to choose what template they'd like to frame the image with. The problem is, even with transparency that chosen frame acts as a layer, and once the uploaded image has been placed onto the staging area, the end-user loosing the ability to edit/scale/skew that image. I'd like them to be able to still do that even with the template above their image.
Can anybody think of a solution to this? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

You'd literally need to chop each frame up. To keep things reasonable to update you can use Photoshop to slice the graphics, saving them to external PNGs to import in. If a frame has 4 edges, you cut out the 4 sides, import into Flash and reassemble them inside a single Sprite or MovieClip. Any area inside that sprite that has no actual objects will be true transparency and won't invoke a click action.
Keep in mind, hitboxes are rectangular. If you have an oval frame where the edges require you to create bitmaps with transparency on their edges, that will be clickable. If you don't immediately understand what I mean by that just draw a circle in flash, convert to clip. Now draw your cursor around what you consider the 'top' portion of that frame and notice how much of the inner fill you also capture at the same time. That will all be clickable. So the user may "see" their picture behind the frame but when they click they accidentally get the frame instead.
Picture worth a thousand words (random net image):
If you cut this oval frame into 4 pieces (this being the top obviously), the transparent area you see in the frame will need to be part of the hitarea for the frame. That can be just as confusing to customers in this situation. If most of your frames have little to no transparency (very squared up) then it won't be a problem. Although just like the problem you're having now, any bitmap transparency WILL be clickable even if you cut the sides up. The center where there is no bitmap can be clicked through to mess with the picture behind the frame.
This sort of makes the transparency detection a bit more desirable.

How can I make a FlashAlbumExporter background transparent?

I really like the very cool FAE (as suggested on this most excellent forum) but the gui offers no choice as for background opacity. A little search on the net reveals a few ideas but none of them seem to work. I am using the following iframe code in iWeb:

I don't know if the bg transparency is controlled in this iframe code, in the index.html file created by FAE or in the xml file created by FAE. So far I have tried:
Remove the background-color: #181818; from the index.html didn't make any difference.
Adding <bgcolor transparency="0"> in the xml made simpleviewer not display at all.
Another web site was discussing using html in the HTML snippet widget instead of iframe and it seems to address the transparency issue. But it seems rather old and is setup to use a movie instead of a photo album so I'm not sure how to convert it. Here is that code:

If that's what you're doing, then just turn off the visibility of the layer that you made the selection on - most likely the BG layer by clicking on the eye icon in the layer's pallet. You change the bg layer, as I mentioned above, and after you make your selection, click on the add layer mask icon in the layer's pallet, This will add a layer mask with your selection. If you hold alt/opt while doing this, it will create a inverse layer mask.

How can I make a tabbed pane transparent ?

I have a tabbed pane placed on a JPanel with an image background. I added a tabbed pane with tabbedPane.setOpaque (false), however I still can't see the image behind the components that were added as tabs in the tabbedpane. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a program were you have 2 buttons in a frame. When you click on a choice a new frame pops up with another choice. I wanted to know how can i make the old frame dissapear after the user makes the choice and the new frame has come up?

I've got InDesign CS5.5 and like to save my banners, etc. that I create as a jpeg but when I try to use them on something else it has a white background. How can I make sure the backgrounds are transparent?

How can I modify data from a Transparent Table (like TCURR), and important thing is I want do all that with no ABAP code here. It is like that we always do that in a Oracle database use TOAD or PLSQL third party tools, with no script code here.
I had fond that there is a way can do that:
1, type 'se11',and Display Database table 'TCURR', click Contents, then click Execute to display all data
2, type '/h' and let debugging on
3, select one of this data then click 'Display',enter in debugging system.
4, then make a breakpoint in the code. But... display a dialog let I type a 'ABAP Cmnds', I want to know what can be type in for that?
and, My system is ECC6.

Your approach (with Vijay's suggestion) MAY work. However, depending on how tight security is at the company that you are working at you may or may not be able to acutaly change the value of the SHOW field to EDIT. This will be especially true if you are working in a Production environment. Vijay's other comment is true as well. This is not a recommended approach to change data (especially data with a financial impact like TCURR) in a production environment. The auditors will not be impressed.
Explore the option of a maintenace view or look at tcode TBDM to upload a file which includes daily rates from providers like Reuters or try tcode s_bce_68000174 which is a maintenance view on TCURR.

Hi Janet,
I suppose that you are asking how to include a decorative border of your design into a pages document. How you design that border is rather out of the range of these discussions. So, let's say that you have a graphic that approximates a picture frame and has the required dimensions to frame your content.
If you want to have the graphic appear on every page, Drag or Insert > Choose, to incorporate your design in to the document. The position it as you want it, and then Arrange > Send to Background and Format > Advanced > Move Object to Section Master.
If there is more than one section in your document, there may be more considerations, but if you do this at the outset in the creation of your document, the design of the first section will flow to subsequent sections.

Let's assume you have iMovie 11 (Version 9). (If you have a different version, let me know. The instructions will be different.)
First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (google MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.
You can then drag this photo into iPhoto.
I have created a short video Tutorial on how to do this. There is one error in the Tutorial, where it says that Command-click is the same as right-click. I should have said Control-click instead.

I have a palm tree that is a tiff file with alpha. I would like the tree trunk to bend a little and a few of the branches to sway as though it’s gently moving in the wind.
What would be the easiest way to make that happen?
Should I save the trunk and a few leaves as separate elements, and then animate them in motion.
Or is there any way to turn my palm tree into a shape in motion, add edit points and key frames to animate it?

Down and dirty: highlight the tree's layer, move the anchor point to the base of the tree, add an Oscillate Behaviour to its Shear X axis. Adjust the Amplitude to 5, Speed to 7 or so, depending on how breezy the day is.
