How can I make automatic slide numbering accessible to screen readers?

Currently using a built-in variable (Slide $$cpInfoCurrentSlide$$ of $$rdinfoSlideCount$$) but this is not being exposed to the JAWS reader.

Hi, I want to make slideshow for presentation. And I want to know how can I make this slide.
For example in this picture, have 1 main slide and 6 sub slides. I want to make slide like this, and all slides should be in one slide. And I want to zoom in to sub slide when I click and then zoom out when I click one more. And then second slide should be zoom in when I click and zoom out when I click again. And then slide 3 etc.
I want to know how can I do this.

There are two ways to do this.
1. Duplicate the main or first slide numerous times - as many as you'll need for the show, which looks like 6 including the first "overview slide".
2. You know have two choices - either use the Magic Move transition between the first slide and the next, which has the main box centre screen and enlarged proportionally.
3. Or enlarge the slides so that the main point is central, but use hyperlinks to move between the slides. This also gives you the liberty of changing the order spontaneously should the situation demand. Using the main first slide, place an invisible box around each element and use a link to move to that slide which is enlarged. Then you have to decide if you will come back each time to slide 1 (the overview) by having the whole slide hyperlinked to slide 1, or the whole slide linked to the next slide. That way you don't have to go looking for the hyperlink area.
The Magic Move effect will give your presentation a "Prezi" like effect, while the hyperlinked version I've described will just use gentle dissolves between each slide.
I will sometimes use 3 because I want to encourage audience participation and let them choose where to go next... e.g., the various elements of a 747 wing assembly, or the interior of a large cruise ship, showing state rooms, dining, pool area, ballroom, etc.

How Can I make this Work! Look at my VI example.
The VI runs, and the I start to switch the Integrating slide to true. and the random data can be seen in the Peak And Volume indicators.
Then if I swith the Flow/Temp slide to True (Temp) and the Integrating slide is true, I want the it (The integrating slide) to auto switch to false.
Now If i switch the The integrating slide to true it must remain true!,
So If I then swith the Flow/Temp Slide back to false( Flow), Nothing happens with the Integrating slide.
If I then switch the Flow/Temp Slide to true( Temp), The integrating slide must reset to off again. and so on...
Sorry for the long explaination.
In my Attached Vi, I got it work autoswitching to false, but when The F/T slide is set to Temp, the Integrating slide will not switch to true!!
Can any body see the problem!

The event handler is intended to make the user interface easier and to use fewer CPU cycles polling front panel controls. What you want can be done without it. See the attached file. For one control it is not too much different. If you had 5-10 controls or their interaction was more complex, the event handler would have a greater advantage. Also the event handler can easily monitor numeric or string inputs, enums, and other controls.

Re-install Snow Leopard on a seperate partition or external drive, or use iWork Pages and Numbers to open your AW WP and SS files.
Databases are a different problem, but they can be exported as ASCII and imported to Numbers or to Bento.
However, you have to open them to export, which means having SL available anyway.
To do address labels, I think you'll need to export them to Address Book; this can be done by exporting from numbers as a .csv file and importing to address book.

How can I make text slide in from the right?

I'm really enjoying learning more with Captivate 6 and the community has been very helpful so far. I can't figure out how to get very simple text effects/transitions such as bringing text from the side of the frame to "slide" into place. This has been a text effect of every program for a decade, is this basic transition available in 6? I'm making a list on a few screens and would very much like the text to simply slide in from the right.
I'm about to just make a transparent png with the text to accomplish this for now considering it's my best bet. Any information would be handy. Thanks!

Apparently if your resolution is too low or the workspace isn't allowing "space" for a full effects window to show up, the whole thing shows up blank and grey. How obnoxious! By closing my properties tab on the right (after many other fixes including making those pngs) it showed up.

It's currently set to show only rows of the table where the temperature is recorded as between 11 and 13 °C. I've clicked the + button to the right of that condition to add a second, but have not started to build that condition yet.

I do not believe there is option to "hold" an image for a few extra ticks at the end of a slideshow by using iPhoto. You can accomplish this by using iMovie but that does require a learning curve.
What I have done and is relatively simple, depending on the type of transitions you are applying, was to add the last image a couple extra times in the slide show. In my instance this worked rather well...

At current i am working on a form where you have a yes and no option if you select yes you must then select a level of risk low, med or high. I would like the items to only be able to be chosen if yes is selected.

Your script is close, but it's in the wrong place. You have it in the initialize event for cell E, so it will only execute once when the form is loaded up. Place the following script in the layout:ready event of the JustifyE textfield (I used FormCalc for this one):

How can I make links clickable on all PDF viewers/readers?

I have an InDesign document that's been built to be 'interactive' when printed as a PDF: along the top of each page are links that allow you to skip ahead in the document to specific pages. The links are created using boxes over the relevant text that are set up in an alternate layer of the Indesign document. The links just take the reader to a specific page of the PDF - not to an element on a page. There are minimal images - one on the cover and a logo on every page. It's mainly text.
The links open in the PDF when viewed in Acrobat, and also on on Mac Book (it looks great!), but they don't open on iPads or other devices (and it looks like a complete dud when viewed this way). Are there some settings I can change/use to make my document 'clickable' from all readers?
I'm very far ahead with this project and need to publish it urgently. I wasn't aware of this issue previously. Any suggestions/solutions gratefully received. Just to clarify - the links are mostly internal. I just need people to be able to jump around within the document.

You cant transfer interactivity to a PDF when you print to PDF as you have written.
PDFs have to be exported so that interactivity will live inside the PDF. Of course you have to set up links in the Hyperlink Panels.
But not every reader is supporting interactivity. URL are supported from Reader and Apple iBooks. But you can't force the user to use a certain application anyway.

My desk top is larger than the screen, how can i make it fit all on one screen ?

Are you zoomed in at all? The default key for zooming should be Control. Hold Control and use the mouse scroll wheel (or 2 fingers on the trackpad) and zoom out. If that's not working, open System Preferences > Mouse (or Trackpad) > and set a "Zoom while holding..." default key and try it.
If that doesn't work, try using different resolutions in Display settings in System Preferences and see which one works.

My problem is on certain screen resolutions that are not 'wide screen' you are not able to see all of the cards when you scroll down. Some of you may not see my problem when you open up the page which is good. For you guys, the way to see my problem is to 'zoom out' of the screen and to do that press 'ctrl' and '-'
Is there any way of avoiding this?
