How can I make mail rules work?

I'm using Mail Version 7.0 (1822). When I create a rule to move an article from the inbox into a mailbox, it doesn't work.
I was hoping to create a series of nested mailboxes sorted by topics, (shopping, sports, hobbies, etc), but even the simplest of single level maillboxes doesn't work.
The commands are fairly straightforward and easy to understand: If a heading contains the word ________, move the item to the mailbox named ____.
When I apply the rule, nothing happens. Help would be appreciated.

The flagging rule worked. Then.... I tried once again to move the messages to the mailbox. This time, I noticed that the messages were, in fact, copied to the mailbox, but were not deleted from the inbox. Do I also have to specify that the messages be deleted from the inbox? The move command would involve both copy and delete in one action.

When I look at some emails on my phone, I can see from the title that I don't need to read the email so I delete it without opening it. When I go to my Macbook Pro and open mail, the number of unread messages in my Trash shows next to the name. It drives me nuts. Can I just set a rule to mark all messages sent to trash as read? If that isn't possible, I'd take just making the number not show beside the Trash folder.

Just in the case that I actually do need to go back to them for some reason. I have some OCD tendencies which is also why the number beside the folder drives me nuts.

1.If you want the settlement rule default then maintain account assignment data in technical object and when MO is created on that it would be copied into the settlement rule...
2. If you want to make those fields mandatory .... plz check up field selections in config , if you cannot find those then use SHD0 Transaction variant to make those fields mandatory.
3. Enter SHD0 , Enter IW31 in transaction and ZIW31 for transaction variant ..click create option and this takes you to IW31 initial screen , here enter required values of technical object etc and press enter and this gives you IW31 Initial scree screen variant , click continue and this takes you to inside screen and here enter required field values and on pressing enter gives you screen variant .. so you need to enter field values and check the flow of screen variants and on getting settlement rule screen variant select required option for the fields you need.
4. Finally you can save that in package created in SE80 for transporting to other client .., you can activate the variant in SHD0 -->Standard variants -->you can find activate option ..

YEA! My jurryrig worked! To all with this problem:
You CAN have podcasts in a regular playlist IF you convert them to a standard MP3 first. So, yes, a lot of manual labor
The good news: if, like me, it is a track that you listen to frequently (in my case meditations for sleep and relaxation) then the time is worth it. I will mess with automator later to see if there is anyway to script this! Then, less work for me and more for my mac.
Here are the steps:
Select the file from your Podcast folder.
Change all data you need -- "artist," "album" etc...
Make a copy of the cover art for this file by dragging it to the desktop.
Select the Advanced -> Convert ID3 Tags menu item.
Check ID3 tag version, and select "v1.0" from the drop-down menu.
Drag the file to the desktop (this will make a copy of the MP3 on the desktop)
Delete the file from the iTunes list.
Drag the copy of the file you have on the Desktop back into iTunes.
Search for the file in the Library, and add the cover art again to the file.
Now the file is out of the Podcasts folder and works like a regular MP3 file inside iTunes. You can re-add it back to playlists!

Apple doesn't have anything to do with this other than enforcing the DRM protection. The developers of this content expect to be paid if someone wants to use their content. When you purchase content in the app store, you purchase a license to use the content. This license does not permit you or anyone else to resell or give this content away. The individual you purchased the phone from simply does not have the right to sell or give away any purchased content on the phone. You were deceived.

I know it is not dead because I can see the apple logo on, and every time I connect it to a USB port to charge, or a wall charger, the battery appears with a bit of red. Still, it wont turn on. It sounds like the iPhone is experiencing issues upon startup, and may not be loading the firmware or operating system correctly. If you have not already done so, try resetting the iPhone while connected to power:

If there is a modem and not a router on the first floor, then the only possible way to get it to work would be an Ethernet cable connection between the modem and the AirPort Express device.

Howdy all,
As the title says how can a force Mail to try to resend the messages in the outbox? I use my MacBook Pro in a number of different environments and when I am on one flakey access point in particular or when I have forgotten to open Safari to reauthorize recently on another network Mail will fail to contact the SMTP server. When this happens my message gets stuck in the outbox to be sent later. My problem is that I do not know how to get it out of there effectively.
Once I have fixed the transitive error in the network (or or the problem fixes itself) how do I get the messages out of the inbox? At this point I can send more messages with no problem and they will happily go out but those in the queue just sit there.
Now, I have tried a number of things like quitting and restarting Mail, bringing the various network interfaces back up and down, and other things to try to trick Mail into sending the queued messages but that has been haphazard at best. I can't help thinking that there is something obvious I am missing.

Highlight the message in the inbox, double-click on it, and click on the "send" icon
You may even consider BCCing yourself to see whether the message actually goes or not, and you just have an artifact copy stuck in your outbox that you could then just delete.
Otherwise, copy&paste the stuck message body into a new message, and delete the stuck one out of the outbox before attempting to send the new one

Ive tried "adding address to book", resending the email, but still, every time I get an email from this particular address (who by the way is a friend!) it goes to spam. Have you also done the obvious by marking the received message(s) as Not Junk and then moving the message(s) from the account's Junk mailbox to the account's Inbox mailbox?
You should also consider using the Junk Mail reset feature and you can leave Junk Mail set to automatic when doing so.
