How can I make my clamshell boot from the CD-ROM

I have a Japanese version 300mhz tangerine clamshell with 160MB RAM and a 3gb hard drive. It ran well on OS 9.2 until yesterday when I decided to upgrade (erased old OS) to OS 10.2. The upgrade went smoothly (although took quite a while). After the upgrade, it detected software updates which I accepted and installed (took some time again). Again, the software update went well and I rebooted the machine. I was able to reboot successfully into OS 10.2. I then ran Monolingual 1.20 to remove all languages except U.S. English. Success! I recovered 325MB of disk space. I then tried running a downloaded Firefox .dmg file. It wouldn't run. I noticed the machine was acting funny. I could not shut down from the dropdown Apple logo, there were no dropdown options. So I just turned the machine off and then back on. That 's when the trouble started. I get the chime, I get the grey Apple logo and then the round progress meter. Then the screen switches to just a white background with no Apple logo but with the round progress meter still going and after a long while the round progress meter is stuck. The machine appears to be hung. I tried to boot from a 9.2 CD installer (by holding C key on boot up) but I could not. It goes straight to the grey Apple logo (OS X). Option key does not give me boot device options. Help!

Install the SSD, then boot OS X Internet Recovery by simultaneously holding the Command, Option, and R keys while starting the Mini.
You will see the following screen:
When the following screen appears, select Disk Utility.
Select the SSD, then the Erase tab. Next to "Format" select Mac OS X Extended (Journaled), give it a name, and click the Erase... button.
When it finishes, quit Disk Utility which will return to the above screen. Select Reinstall Mac OS X and choose your SSD. You will need the Apple ID you used to purchase Mountain Lion.
It may take a few hours to download and install all its components.

I can't figure out how to get very simple text effects/transitions such as bringing text from the side of the frame to "slide" into place. This has been a text effect of every program for a decade, is this basic transition available in 6? Apparently if your resolution is too low or the workspace isn't allowing "space" for a full effects window to show up, the whole thing shows up blank and grey. How obnoxious! By closing my properties tab on the right (after many other fixes including making those pngs) it showed up.

Let's assume you have iMovie 11 (Version 9). (If you have a different version, let me know. The instructions will be different.)
First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (google MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.
You can then drag this photo into iPhoto.
I have created a short video Tutorial on how to do this. There is one error in the Tutorial, where it says that Command-click is the same as right-click. I should have said Control-click instead.

The one thing I would add to the instructions above is that the "Media Kind" menu is on the "Option" pane in the "Get Info" Window. This procedure has allowed me not only to make imported audiobooks show up as audiobooks, but imported podcasts show up as podcasts.

I found an answer to my own question. A work around of sorts.
Download Photoshop Elements 6 for Macintosh. With PSE6 I made a slide show with 550 images 1920x1200, without thumbs. I ran into one problem making the slide show. My images contained 4 images which had not ben created by Photoshop and could not be included in the slide show. Opening the images in Photoshop CS4 and re-saving them still did not make then acceptable. Not a big deal. I probably could have fixed the four images by stripping all EXIF data before opening them in Photoshop. BTW, PSE6 made the slide show in demo mode.
I hope the bug in Photoshop CS4 will be fixed in Photoshop CS5.

you can't change the backup folder as far as I know, but you can choose to move backups. The information you need can be found in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4946

I hear it was Blue tag but they either sold it or dropped it because they make no claim for it. Does anyone kknow of a group calendar for IOS that will report the color choices as well as the data? Calenmob Pro just brings in one color for every date and appt. Thanks!

Well you can make a bootable dvd this way:
After downloading the Install OS X Mavericks.app file from the Mac App Store, run these 12 commands in Terminal to create a Mavericks.iso file and then burn it to a dual layer DVD with Disk Utility. You may then boot up from it by holding the option key down and then install mavericks. This will not install a recovery partition. My iMovie 11 shows the videos from my iPhone importet by iPhoto, but not all the videos importet the same way from my camera. It works fine with the videos recorded in MP4 but not at all with the AVCHD. How can I make iMovie to show me the AVCHD files? iPhoto imports and shows the AVCHD fine. Also I could import the AVCHD files with iMovie but then they would be twice on my computer and use a lot of space.

Right now, iMovie won't edit AVCHD wrapped files. You have a few options:
1. Import the videos with iMovie. Afterwards, you may add the imported movies to iPhoto if you want.
2. Import the videos with another app. (Too numerous to mention.)
3. Convert the videos with a third-party tool.
4. Wait for a future version of iMovie that adds this capability.

In the lower RH corner of iTunes is the Airplay device selctor.
Click on it, select multiple speakers and check the computer and Apple TV from the list.

Try Mail>Preferences>Accounts icon>Account Information tab>Click on the Outgoing SMTP server drop down, choose edit Server list, highlight the old one & click Remove.
(Such convolution is worthy of Windows® in my estimation)
