Yes, this is another new "feature" in Mtn Lion.
I have a Canon S95 camera.
My Lion Mac Minis show the name of the camera on the left and on the desktop. So did my Ubuntu and Win7 laptops. This late 2012 Mtn Lion mini does not.
I can specify to open Image Capture when the camera is connected. But I.C. is more complex than just using the camera as an external drive in the finder. I have decades of photos organized in subject folders.
This is my 6th major frustration with Mtn Lion. They should've called it "Lame Giraffe" or "Know-it-all Chimp." Mtn Lion tries too hard to think for us, like Microsoft "products" do. They've also removed too many good features, like iDVD.
What would Steve say (RIP)?
I am watching the clock on my return capability at Best Buy. I may yet go for a Lion mini if they have one left, or just go back to Linux.

And in panel 2, the content is added dynamically, so it cannot control the width. Once it is very long, then the UI will not show all the data in panel2, and panel 3 also cannot display.
So i want to the window have a scroll bar. How can i do this?

When I make a Face Time call there is no ability to make another call and conference the second person it. However, on a recent episode of Modern Family they were able to do just that.

You can also use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2592/ NoSquint] add-on to change the default zoom level for all websites at once. After setting your global zoom level, you can fine-tune the zoom on individual sites and set the options so that NoSquint remembers per-site settings.
After installing NoSquint, go to the add-ons page to set the per-site settings:
* Tools (or [[Image: New Fx Menu]]) > Add-ons > Extensions
* Click the "Options" button by NoSquint

How can I make it so downloads have a progress bar?

In the newest version (14.0) there are no progress bar or percentage on downloads in the notification pulldown. They also don't appear in the Downloads page of Firefox until they are done downloading.
Is there a way to get either of those back? I've looked at the Extensions for mobile, and with the few that have been made in the short time this version has been out, none of them would help with this. Are there any options that I can't find?
If there isn't, can you please add this sometime in the future? It's driving me mad not knowing how far my download is.

How can I make importing faster? Have diff speeds on diff comps, help plz

I have 2 diff comps that both have Itunes 8, but for some reason they both import at completely different speeds even though the import settings are set exactly the same. And to make it more frustrating the older comp (7-8yrs old) is actually faster to use to import than my newer comp (not even 2yrs old). Newer comp only imports at an average of 3.1xs while the older one does double that @ 6.3xs, why is that and how do I change it to match or even make a lil fater than that?

I use an Ethernet Cable Modem. I dont use a router. For trouble shooting I havnt done much. Just changed the name of my sharing WiFi, tried to connect again and again, other passwords, other channels - nothing helped. (I had this problem ones, but I just changed a name, and it has worked)

Strictly inside AE you have two options. Shatter using custom shatter maps and masking + particle effects. Neither would be as conviceing as Dave's solution.
If you have access to a 3D app (blender is free) you can do it there.
Here's a 2 minute project in AE with a stock image:
with a shot of the broken buscuit top animated to fit the split it might be kind of convincing.

I found an answer to my own question. A work around of sorts.
Download Photoshop Elements 6 for Macintosh. With PSE6 I made a slide show with 550 images 1920x1200, without thumbs. I ran into one problem making the slide show. My images contained 4 images which had not ben created by Photoshop and could not be included in the slide show. Opening the images in Photoshop CS4 and re-saving them still did not make then acceptable. Not a big deal. I probably could have fixed the four images by stripping all EXIF data before opening them in Photoshop. BTW, PSE6 made the slide show in demo mode.
I hope the bug in Photoshop CS4 will be fixed in Photoshop CS5.
