How can I make my interntet wireless while keeping my desktop connected?

I just got my Macbook Pro and I love it! One problem... I got airport extreme with it and I don't know how I can keep my PC desktop connected to the internet (no wireless) while having my Macbook wireless? Everyone at the Apple store just said to plug my computer in to the airport express.... What plug? I have broadband and am using an ethernet cable.... PLEASE HELP! THanks!

You can set the window transparency with something like:
theWindow's setBackgroundColor:(current application's NSColor's clearColor)

I haven't seen a way using public APIs to blur behind the window, but I'm not sure about using ASObjC with stuff like Core Image, anyway.
You might also try something like setting the background to a gray color and play with the grayscale and alpha values (colorWithCalibratedWhite:0.0 alpha:0.2, for example).

Energy Saver, you can keep the computer awake while the screen saver shuts the monitor off but I'm not sure that would do it for you.

My first thought was to set the System Preferences »» Energy Saver Sleep slider selections to "Never" — but I'm sure that's ~trivial and something you tried.
So I just did a quick search for [ sleep (lid OR cover) ] in the PowerBook forums. Lots of results. Perhaps some are helpful?
Many folks who've posted seem to think that having at least one of: mouse, keyboard, monitor attached is required. But see whether Mr. Lizard's post here works for you.
Sorry, I don't have a PowerBook to test possibilities. If this doesn't help, I'd think that your initiating a new thread in the appropriate PowerBook forum would be most helpful.

If you are not using data and the iPhone goes to sleep, it will automatically drop the wi-fi, and will not reconnect until you wake the phone up. That is the way it is designed. The only way around that is to turn off cellular data while at home and on wi-fi.

If you drag a link or favicon on the left end of the location bar onto the desktop to create an internet shortcut then that shortcut gets the icon of the default browser.
If you want a different icon (favicon) then you have to assign that icon yourself to the desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties).
You can usually get the favicon if you append "favicon.ico" to the main domain of a website (e.g. http://www.mozilla.com/favicon.ico ) to display the favicon in a tab and save that image to a folder or see if you can find it in "Tools > Page Info > Media".

Hi,
My email/iCload account gets at least 30 vulgar spam emails daily that try to link you directly to **** sites. I have to consistently delete these emails as they arrive in my inbox (not spam file). It worries me that my kids could accidentally come across these emails by accident.
As I have not managed to stop the emails arriving in my inbox, I would like to know if its possible to setup a new icload email to replace the old one. My actual email used for my iTunes purchases etc is my gmail not icload...but I found that the icload email needs to be set in my devices for icload to function, otherwise anything stored in the cloud disappears.
