How can I make my pages a smaller size after completing my work?

I have finished making some newspaper styled pages, however they are too big (due to poor calculations). How can I make my pages smaller, or to be the size I want?

As DOD and Peter have suggested, Layout Adjustment is probably the way to go. You will have to do some manual adjustments, but this tool can help save you some time.

Well I just spent some time searching for that and found one round-about way:
Open a document and choose Table in the toolbar.
Open Inspector and choose Table.
The default on mine was 3 rows and 3 columns - I changed that to fill up the page with horizontal lines and chose 1 column in the page width.
That resulted in this (partial screenshot):
That may not be what you wanted, but it's the only thing I found.

Yes. It's at the minimum size via that method, but is much too large. I like to have it open always and in the previous OS the window was much smaller. Thanks for the suggestion nonetheless.

When I download pictures from my camera, they turn out a nice big size in iPhoto; other pictures that have been e-mailed to me or imported from older libraries/other computers show up small. Why is this, and how can I make them all the larger size?

When I download pictures from my digital camera into iPhoto, they turn out a nice large size (usually almost the full screen), but when somebody e-mails me pictures and I import them into iPhoto, or when I transfer old photos from an old library into my new iPhoto library, they turn out very small--not exactly thumbnail-size, but too small to use for calendars or photo books. I don't know much about computers, so I don't know how this happened. Also, I can't find any discernible pattern to why this happens with some pictures and not others--ie: what I described above is usually true, but I have had e-mailed photos or old photos turn out the way I want them, which is in the larger size in iPhoto. Why is this happening, and how can I make all the pictures the larger size?

Some mail programs, including Apple Mail, can reduce the size of images that are attached to a message. It's happening at the sender's end, and all you can do is ask the sender for a larger image.

Any idea on how I can set my default pages to be wider? The template in iWeb just seems too small. When i open the page I have a ton of filler space on the sides. I can't seem to figure out how to make the pages wider so I can put more space between the columns and not have such a massive blank space on the sides of every page. There are iWeb templates that aren't easily changed. So you have to find a solution if you still want to use such templates.
It's not a problem, it's a challenge.

Hello and thank you all for your help in advance!
I would like to make a page transparent in InDesign.
When the magazine is printed it will be an overlay page with font printed on it where you can still see the image underneath. I was wondering if this is possible.
I'm not quite sure if it has a technical name to it or not so I uploaded a picture of what I'm speaking about to Tinypic.

will these subjects actually be printed on separate pages or do you want to overlay some images on one page with type on the same page?
If the former, add and use layers; if the latter design one page and save it as a pdf. Place that pdf on a lower level layer, lock the layer, and work on a higher layer.

How can I make a video file smaller?

I'm having problems with video file sizes. I've been making cuts to videos I want to put on my website and on Box.com and am not having any problems with the software I'm using to make cuts (iMovie) but when I save them the files are huge. The original uncut file might be around 285MB and the cut version will come out around 950MB! How is this possible? I'm not doing anything except cutting out footage. The files are all mp4, and I'm saving the cut versions in the same format. I've tried compressing the videos, but that hardly changes anything (the best result I've had is it goes down to 880MB). I've recut and saved them as MOV, sent them to iTunes, exported for iPhone usage, done everything I can think of to try and get these file sizes down, and nothing is working. I need to be able to upload these videos to my Box.com account, but with such huge file sizes it's almost impossible. Please help! I don't know what to do.

Non-destructive editing is an important feature of iMovie.
iMovie preserves the entire copy of every clip you place into your movie in case you change your mind at a later stage.
So, if you have cut out one minute from a 45 minute clip, iMovie will have stored two complete copies of that clip. This is why is helps to set import as 3-5 minute clips rather than one huge chunk. As DV runs at 13GB per hour your project files can get very big.
One workaround is to complete the editing of a section of the movie, then export that to Quicktime: highlight the clip/s, choose Share-Quicktime, turn on Share selected clips only, and choose Full Quality from the pop-ip menu.
Once you have saved the stand-alone clip to your hard drive, you can re-import it into your project using the File/Import command, and delete the original long clip/s from the project.
