How can I make PDF forms filled in Preview show correctly in Acrobat?

Dears list members, there is a known issue with PDF forms filled in Preview: the fields do not show properly in Adobe Acrobat. How can this issue be solved? On the internet, I found two basic solutions: (a) to flatten the document by printing it as a PDF and (b) to use a costum-made script. Is there an official correction for this bug that does not involve installing suspicious scripts? Thanks!

We would like a form to display the following information:
Employee Names as the columns, 1 row for each calendar day, and each item in the block containing the total sales amount (and other information) for that employee for that day.
This would require the block to function as a (composite) crosstab report.
Here is an example:
We have employees: Jane, John, Jim, and Janice
We would like to see their total sales for the following days: 5/1 .. 5/5

We have a table with records of each day, for each employee, and their sales for that day.
There is a possibility our list of employees can change as well as the number of days.
Anyone tried doing anything like this with a form? We don't want to just embed a report because we would like to include other data as well besides what is mentioned above and we would like them to be able to change some of that data. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a VERY similar problem where I want to have this matrix on the form with six days worth of data (three columns for each day) for my data table. I have done as Momen has suggested and created a view (using SQLPLUS):
create table weekdays (weekday varchar2(3), date_x date);
drop view employee_absences_v;
create view employee_absences_v as
select weekday,
absence_date,
hours,
absence_code_lvid,
adjustment_status_lvid
from employee_absences ea, weekdays wd;
that hopefully provides a row for each day of the week for my data table. The view is created OK but I'm not sure how to get it into the form properly. Also, I am using the form to CREATE rows in the data table not just SELECT and DISPLAY and there may or may not be a row of data for a corresponding day which is going to be a problem for me using this view method, I think. Let me know how this goes and if you get your form to work and how? Momen, your method appeals to me but it's not 100% clear how to get it to work in a form?

How can I make my form be a certified document?

Hi all,
In my form, I want to export xml by using the script "Reference_Syntax.exportData( [ STRING param1 [, BOOLEAN param2 ] ])",
for example, xfa.host.exportData("filename.xml",0).
However, it is invalid.
It says that "This parameter1 is only valid on certified documents where the user has sufficient
permissions".
But how can I make my form be a certified document, or how can I get the sufficient permissions?
Script "xfa.host.exportData("",0)" can be valid, but what I need is specifying the location and file name so that users can export xml just by clicking the button.
Can I achieve this function?

Please take a look at this discussion. Also, are your end users using Adobe Reader? If so, your document must be Reader Enabled withed LiveCycle RE to use the import / export xml functionality.

I have made a LabVIEW program where I have possibility to read a PDF document. When I made this LabVIEW program it was Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 that was installed on the PC. Lather when the Acrobat Reader was upgraded to version 6.0, there was an error when VI tries to launch the LabVIEW program. And Later again when we upgraded to Acrobat Reader 7.0.5 I must again do some changes and rebuild the EXE files again
It isn't so very big job to do the changes in one single LabVIEW program, but we have built a lot of LabVIEW programs so this take time to due changes every time vi update Acrobat Reader. (We have build EXE files.)
The job is to right click the ActiveX container and Click "Insert ActiveX Object", then I can brows the computer for the new version of acrobat Reader. After this I must rebuild all the "methods" in the Activex call to make the VI executable again.
Is there a way to build LabVIEW program so I don't have to do this job every time we update Acrobat Reader?
This LabVIEW program is written in LabVIEW 6.1, but I se the problem is the same in LabVIEW 8.2.

How can I make sure the Presenter Display will show up?

I use the option "use alternate display to view presenter information", and it works fine with my secondary display at home. The presenter information (Presenter Display) with my notes etc. shows up.
But when I gave a practice talk at my university, the Presenter Display did not show up, although all settings were the same. Back at home with my own secondary display, it works fine again.
How can I make sure that the Presenter Display will always show up on the secondary display?

I have a similar problem. Last year I gave a presention at a client's office using my Macbook. I had the presenter display on my Macbook screen and the presentation on their projector.
A few months ago I upgraded to the latest Macbook Pro 15" (plus there have been upgrades to OS X and Keynote in that time). This time when I tried to run the same set-up my MBP screen went blank. I tried changing settings for Keynote and System prefs with no success. The only way I cuould give the presentation without needing to look at the projector screen was to mirro the displays (and lose the Notes of course). Maybe there is a bug with the latest Keynote?

All data in the about:healthreport Firefox Health Report page is accurate except for the persistently inaccurate bookmarks count in the Vital Stats section of the page, which counts only 14 bookmarks and fails to count the other 7903 bookmarks.

The about:healthreport Firefox Health Report Raw Data page shows bookmarks 7917.
The Firefox/Bookmarks/Show All Bookmarks/Library window shows 7910 items.
How can I make the about:healthreport Firefox Health Report Vital Stats section correctly and accurately show "bookmarks 7917" instead of incorrectly and erroneously showing "bookmarks 14"?

(1) In the Firefox Navigation Bar, type "about:healthreport" (without the quotation marks) to open the Firefox Health Report page.
(2) On the left side of the Firefox Health Report page, in the Vital Stats section, the following data appears: bookmarks 14. This is false data because the browser actually has 7917 bookmarks, not 14 bookmarks. All other data in the Firefox Health Report page is accurate.
(3) In the Firefox Health Report page, click the Raw Data link to reveal all Raw Data.
(4) Page Down approximately 10 pages to the following specific Raw Data:

10) Press the <command> <A> keys to select and highlight automatically all items in the items (bookmarks) list, and Firefox automatically will begin the process of counting all items (bookmarks) in the items list.
11) After a counting interval of several seconds, the count of the total number of items (bookmarks) that are present in the items list appears near the bottom-center of the Library window: 7910 items.
12) I installed the "Places Maintenance" add-on, selected the "All" preference, and executed the add-on, but it did not correct the issue.
13) The about:healthreport Firefox Health Report Vital Stats section counts only 14 bookmarks and fails to count the remaining 7903 bookmarks.

On the support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions site, after selecting ASK A QUESTION and writing this question, I attempted to upload image files with the question, but I am unable to upload a JPG (97 KB) image file or a PNG (307 KB) image file because the "Add Images Browse" function appears to be broken.
Each time I click the "Add images: Browse" button, select one of the image files, and click "Open" to upload the image file, a spinning gear appears in a square beneath "Uploaded images:", and the spinning gear continues to spin without stopping. The image file does not upload.
While the gear is spinning, the message "Uploading <filename>.jpg" or "Uploading <filename>.png" remains constantly visible beneath the square that contains the spinning gear.
I think the gear would have continued to spin for eternity if I had not reloaded the page after the gear had been spinning for a full 7 minutes.

How to work with PDF forms filled up by the user?

I would appreciate any help regrading work with PDF Forms.
I present a PDF form to users with several fields that they need to fill up.
My problem is to receive the values of these fields back.
In PDF forms you can add a "Submit" button that sends the fields to a given servlet.
That, however, takes me out of my session and out of JSF navigation model.
I can't find a way to go back.
The PDF form is shown in an iframe, so Java Script outside of the iframe cannot know about the "Submit" button action.

How can I make .PDF files not display inline in an Outgoing mail?

I want Mail to NOT display PDF files in outgoing messages. It will keep the icon placeholder if it's more than two pages, but not for one page PDFs. How can I stop this? It makes formatting kind of difficult.

How can i stop PDF form from scrolling?

I want to create a PDF form using Acrobat Pro XI that acts like a multi-page data input form. I'll jump to the various pages using buttons down the left side linked to pages via Javascript code. But the user can still scroll the page, which makes the form look quite strange. Is there a way to stop this scrolling, or some trick in JS that will force pages to be displayed with their top-left corner (of each page) always sitting at the top left corner of the screen?

I've just bought my iPhone and have had an iTunes account for some time. While setting up the iPhone - Apple ID - the form would not allow me to use my currect primary email address. I had to insert another one because of the iTunes email address apparently. Now I can't seem to get it straightened out. I need my primary email address to be the only one and use a secondary address for the "rescue" address. How can I manage this without making everything worse?

Okay, you first open or give focus to the Project Manager pod. Once there, you will either be in Global View (where you see all files combined - CSS, Images, HTM and others) or you will be in Classic view. Classic View has separate folders, One for HTML files, another for CSS, another for Baggage, etc. See image below for reference.
If you are in Global view, just right-click somewhere inside the Project Files and choose New > Baggage File. If you are in Classic view, right-click the Baggage Files folder and choose New > Baggage File.
Then you navigate to where the Baggage File exists and you add it to the project. When you generate, the Baggage File should be automatically copied to the output folder with the other files.
To link to the Baggage File, you generally select the text or image the user will click to display the file, then click and drag the file from the Project Manager pod to the selected image or text.
Or, if you wish to leave the PDF where it is on the web, just determine the URL that would open it. Create a hyperlink from an image or text that will open the file.

PDF form filled in Preview does not display correctly in Adobe Reader/Acrobat?

I recently received a PDF form from my bank, and filled in the fields and affixed my signature. Saved the form. The recipeint of the form opened the PDF in Acrobat or Adobe Reader and the fields don't display the filled in form, unless you click in the field. After you click out of the field, the entry disappears. When you print the form from Reader or Acrobat, the fields are blank, but the signature prints.
Before saving the form from Preview, the fields appear normally in Reader/Acrobat.
Running Lion 10.7 and Preview 5.5.
Anyone else have this happen?

I've since found out that there is somewhat of a "fix" that addresses a way to see the form entries in Acrobat, but doesn't resolve the problem the Preview creates. There is a script available on the Adobe forum that can be installed into Adobe Acrobat: http://blogs.adobe.com/pdfdevjunkie/2009/11/script_to_fix_mac_osx_previewa.html. The link and also explains the problem which should really be addressed by Apple. After installation, it will appear in the Edit menu of Acrobat. Once you open a Preview form, selecting "Fix Field Appearances" will repair the form so that the entries are visible.
Preview will still create bad forms, but this script will allow them to be visible in Acrobat. Unfortunately if you're sending a form to someone, there's no way to know if the recipient is using Preview or Acrobat and whether they even know about the problem. So you would have to create the form in Preview, open it in Acrobat, fix the field appearances and re-save. So it's not really a fix, just a work-around. Still don't use Preview for this reason.
I don't know if the script works with Adobe Reader, there's no mention that it does or doesn't in the forum entry.

Maybe you can try below code, I have changed the order by of the row_number(). Therefore it will sort on the date, and you will get the first date icm with improve cell. If this is not what you are looking for, please explain what the output should be.
