    Hi Parrotever,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
    The onscreen keyboard usually appears anytime you tap in a field to enter text.  If you tap in another area of the document or web page, it should disappear.   There should also be an area in the bottom right corner of the onscreen keyboard that you can tap to hide it.  See the information in the iPad User Guide below:
    Enter text - iPad User Guide
    http://help.apple.com/ipad/7/#/iPad997da459
    Hide the onscreen keyboard. Tap the Keyboard key.
    If that option isn't available, I would suggest closing the app and restarting the iPad to refresh it.

  • How can I make the calendar smaller?

    After upgrading to Mountian Lion it seems the calendar is even bigger than before.  I can make it larger, but I really want to make it smaller... The smallest it will go is still 5" or 6" wide across my screen.  I want it to be about 4" wide...
    thank you

    The smallest it will go is still 5" or 6" wide across my screen.
    Cheryl,
    That's as small as it gets.
    There's a free menu bar calendar app in the App store.  It provides a nice compact way of view your calendar.  Somewhat confusingly it is also called Calendar.

  • How can I make the emoticons smaller?

    Hello, I just installed the new Skype update and immediately noticed that the emoticons are much bigger than before. Apart from that the other new features are great. So my question is - Is there a way I can revert back to the old emoticons because those new ones are clogging the chat window.
    Thanks in advance.

    They think this is a feature that people actually like. Or will grow to like eventually. So they didn't provide a way to disable it. If you hate it as much as I do, use Skype v6.21.0.104, or if you actually like the new blue UI [Text removed] then  6.21.85.104 if you can find the installer somewhere.

    How can I make the pdf file size smaller?

    Hi vickyb,
    Reducing the file size of PDF requires Acrobat (one way is by choosing File > Save As > Reduced Size PDF). If you don't have Acrobat, you can try it free for 30 days. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html for more information.

    Yes. It's at the minimum size via that method, but is much too large.  I like to have it open always and in the previous OS the window was much smaller. Thanks for the suggestion nonetheless.

    Are you tapping on the field you want to enter data into? That opens the soft keyboard. If you touch the field and hold it, the paste option will appear.

  • How can i make the text go vertically in numbers

    How can I make the text vertical in numbers?  I have merged the cells and cannot find an option for making it go vertical as opposed to horizontal.

    I already gave two tools to fit this kind of needs.
    tip #1 :
    --{code}
    --[SCRIPT write_vertically]
    Enregistrer le script en tant que Script : write_vertically.scpt
    déplacer le fichier ainsi créé dans le dossier
    <VolumeDeDémarrage>:Utilisateurs:<votreCompte>:Bibliothèque:Scripts:Applications :Numbers:
    Il vous faudra peut-être créer le dossier Numbers et peut-être même le dossier Applications.
    Saisir dans une cellule le mot à écrire verticalement puis le sélectionner.
    ATTENTION, il ne faut pas sélectionner la cellule mais le mot qui doit apparaitre surligné.
    Aller au menu Scripts , choisir Numbers puis choisir “write_vertically”
    Le script colle dans la cellule le mot apès avoir inséré un return entre tous les caractères.
    Pour mon usage personnel j'associe un raccourci à ce script grace à FastScripts.
    --=====
    L’aide du Finder explique:
    L’Utilitaire AppleScript permet d’activer le Menu des scripts :
    Ouvrez l’Utilitaire AppleScript situé dans le dossier Applications/AppleScript.
    Cochez la case “Afficher le menu des scripts dans la barre de menus”.
    Sous 10.6.x,
    aller dans le panneau “Général” du dialogue Préférences de l’Éditeur Applescript
    puis cocher la case “Afficher le menu des scripts dans la barre des menus”.
    --=====
    Save the script as a Script: write_vertically.scpt
    Move the newly created file into the folder:
    <startup Volume>:Users:<yourAccount>:Library:Scripts:Applications:Numbers:
    Maybe you would have to create the folder Numbers and even the folder Applications by yourself.
    In a cell, type a word to write vertically then select it.
    CAUTION, don’t select the cell but the word which must be highlighted.
    Go to the Scripts Menu, choose Numbers, then choose “write_vertically”
    The script insert in the cell the word after inserting a return between every characters.
    For my own use, I link a shortcut to the script thank to FastScripts.

    Unfortunately, I don't think there is an automated way of going about this. To begin with, the 'Debug' menu was never meant to be user accessible in the most common context.
    However, that said, you could lessen the pain by assigning a keyboard shortcut to the 'Netscape 7.0' menu-item in the 'Keyboard & Mouse' preference pane (under the 'Keyboard Shortcuts' tab). Hope that helps, somewhat.

    You cannot have the keyboard gone altogether, because it has to come up when an app needs input. The best way to do what you want to do is make sure that no apps are running when you are to go gaming: double click the Home button, swipe up all pages that show (not the app icon but the app page). then start the gaming. It it then still comes up, you look at what app is asking for it and set push notifiactions and autotarting off for that app in the settings.
