How can I mix up the photos in a file?

I am doing a slide show for my child's teacher. I am using about 400 photos from 6 different events. How can I mix up the photos so the slide show is in a random order rather than chronological?

So, you're exporting photos from Lightroom, then rolling them into a slideshow using a different program, and that program does not support randomization - did I get that right?
If so, then indeed: it's as Paige said: no way to export in random order without a plugin or script or something.
Here's one possibility: put them in a collection, then shuffle the collection using the "Shuffle Photos In Collection" script available here:

(they're free scripts I wrote - kinda like plugins, but simpler..).
Then export all photos in the collection with a sequence number prefix so they're in proper order (alphabetically) on disk - then your slideshow program will have them in random order - makes sense? (try it before answering ).

iPhoto puts them in the book in chronological order. So to get your photos from an album into an iPhoto book in the same order you will need to use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option and set them all to the same date with a 1 minute time difference between each.

To see all the photos on the phone, including photos that have already been imported into iPhoto, deselect the "Hide Photos Already Imported" checkbox. If the camera contains photos that have already been imported into iPhoto, those photos are hidden by default.

Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time. If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabling the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else, authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account. In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.

Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc. For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases. Did you move to iOS 8 via iTunes? Your photos should all be on your iPhone 5s without any issues even if you updated via WiFi. The update should have no impact on your photos other than to have moved any photos in your former Camera Roll to your Photos. When opening the Photo App you should see Photos and Albums available at the bottom of the screen. You can also look at Settings>General>About and looking down the list your should see the word Photos and a Count at the right. This count should represent all of the photos in your iPhone.

Instagram folder in Camera Roll (iOS 8.1.2 on iPhone 5S) - how can I recover ALL the photos that were saved there?

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to get back the larger photos saved by Instagram on my phone since I started using IG (the "save original photo" option). I want to print the photos, and the ones I get by downloading from Instagram are too small...
It automatically saves them, but it does not keep them. Now the folder contains just one photo, from 2 days ago - and I cannot understand how many can be kept and for how long; and/or how can I set this up to keep all of them.
Do you have any idea about this, any suggestion? I googled it, but nothing comes up...

Good question for instagram since you're using a 3rd party software.
You can also look at your instagram settings when you open the app.

How can I view only the photos in the root of a parent folder?

I can view the parent folder for my photos, but when I select it, I see all the photos in all the subfolders. How can I filter the view to show only the files in the top-level folder?

Uncheck the box “Show Photos in Sub-Folders”

Your photos aren't stored in Photoshop. They are stored on the hard drive, they only open in Photoshop.
Check your hard disk for the photos you're searching for.

I have an HP all-in-one C5140. When I print from iPhoto the dialog that comes up has a "Presets" drop down at the bottom. One of the choices is "Print from Photo Tray." Is that there on yours? If not make sure you have the latest software from HP.

Hi All, my iPhone 5S is full of photos (1326) or so. however the camera roll is 827. there is an album named "My Photo Stream" which has 466 from My Computer and under it is "Shared" which has 12 from my computer. Can anybody help me to remove both these albums as there taking up a lot of space and I have tried everything to remove them!!!

On option is to open your my photo stream album in the thumnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll. Then import them to your computer using your usb cable (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083). A more convenient option is to use an app like PhotoSync, which will transfer all your photos from any album (including photo stream) to any of your devices (including your computer) over wifi by pressing a single button.

You're welcome, and you can't. Only photos captured or saved by the iPhone are in the Camera Roll. You can transfer photos from your computer to the Camera Roll nor transfer photos in the Photo Library or in albums on the iPhone that were transferred from your computer to the Camera Roll.
Photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on the iPhone as part of the iTunes sync/transfer process - the original resolution of these photos is reduced on the iPhone. This is why transferring these photos in the opposite direction is not supported. These photos should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data.
There are some 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring this data in the opposite direction, but the original resolution of these photos will be lost in the process.

Sharing photos from iphoto 11, why does the photo information not upload when I click with share via email? How can I make sure the photo information and location are shared when the photo (s) are shared.
