How can I move EP songs to the LP I bought?

A couple of months ago, I purchased the "Out of the Black" EP from Royal Blood, which contains 4 songs. Yesterday, I bought the "Royal Blood" LP. Three of the four songs from the EP are in the LP, but the iTunes store did not download those songs, since they are already in my library.
The problem I have is that in my library, the LP does not contain the songs that are in the EP. So if I want to listen to the LP in its entirety, I will have to create a playlist that takes songs from the EP and LP. I normally don't use playlists, so this is an inconvenience for me. It there a way to get the songs from the EP to appear in the LP as well, besides just editing the metadata?

I have 15 versions of the surf song "Apache" but when I try to move the songs via drag and drop in itunes to a windows folder, after the first version, it asks " you already have a file names "apache" would you like to overwrite it?"
which I don't.
Even when I rename the file to "apache two" it still says I already have "apache" in that folder. They are all different versions by different groups.
How can I move them all to the same windows folder??.

Most iTunes users don't look directly at the songs in the windows folders, but if you intend to, you better give the files unique names: "Shadows - Apache," "Ventures - Apache," and so on. When you first change the name, you will have to reasssociate the file in iTunes, but then you will get no conflict when you drag them into a folder.

Take a look at my FindTracks script. Download it and test it out on a few tracks first. Use the No option first time around to manually confirm each path that it wants to fix so you can see how it works. When you're happy it does what you want select a larger group of tracks to process automatically.

jrod53, that is strange. Displays will always appear under the Hardware tier of the System Preferences. I've never seen it disappear, so I'm a little surprised. Do you have two monitors attached to your computer? It may be the Mac thinks there's two displays and it is send the window for iMovie out to secondary display which you don't have access to. Also is there one side of your display where the mouse will disappear off the edge of the screen, go into a black hole?

First some background: I have 3 computers, 1 hp laptop, 1 hp wokstation, 1 Win2003 server. I have all my mp3's on a shared drive on the server.
My question: How can i move all my iTune songs to the server, so i can play them on both computers?
I have tryed to move them in windows but with on luck, I have iTunes installed on the laptop and workstation. but would like to buy on the laptop and listen to the songs on my workstation.

You can only combine the content of several toolbars on one toolbar if the toolbars support that feature. If that is possible then you can do that via the View > Toolbars > Customize window or via the options of that toolbar (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions).

How can I disassociate my songs in the iTunes store from another musician with the same name?

My songs in the iTunes store are showing up with the artist John Powers. That is my name. There seems to be another musician called John Powers, and our songs seem to be grouped together. I feel bad for the guy, as he seems quite clean-cut and my songs are all a bit... edgy. Is there any way to clarify that there is another artist also called John Powers, or will my songs forever be linked to his through our common name?

Old computer is broke, how can I get my songs onto the new computer?

My other computer with Itunes and all my songs was dropped and broke. We were unable to recover any of the songs. I have all the songs on my ipod though. So I downloaded Itunes onto this new computer, and now I am trying to add my recently downloaded songs to the ipod, and it keeps telling me that I need to erase the library and replace it with the new library. Connect your iPod to your computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.
