How can I open an excel spreadsheet which somebody has emailed me on my Ipad

I have been emailed a spreadsheet which I can open on my Ipad and Iphone  but the cells which hold the data are distorted.  I can see the cells clearly on my laptop which has Libre Office on it, but not the Ipad.  Do I need to download an App or convertor to my Ipad and my Iphone?

Also, you can download these free MS Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to view (but not create or edit) these files.

How can I get an excel spreadsheet onto the iPad and make changes to it during my meeting this afternoon?

I just bought splashtop, you have to have your home computer online, and download the pc version.  I have used it ot watch movies and to "go to work" on my ipad.  It controls the desktop through the ipad.  Whiteboard by splashtop does that and more and is on sale.  The education director at the hospital I work at is using that one.
Splashtop 4.99 remote desktop(or laptop) control. Whiteboard 9.99 is remote control and more 9.99

Can I open an excel spreadsheet in NUMBERS complete with formulas?

Problem solved.  I find that the excel file I was trying to convert was an .xlsx version and when I resaved it as an .xls file, I was then able to open it in NUMBERS complete with formulas.

  • How can I open and listen to the PDF documents with audio in my iPad?

How can I open and listen to the PDF documents with audio in my iPad?

You need to use a PDF reader that supports multimedia. Adobe Reader 10.3 does not. Adobe has not stated whether it will support multimedia in the future.
In the meantime, you could buy an application that does like PDF Expert. Read about it here:

  • How can I open an Excel template on the BPC 7.0 MS server?

We would like to open an Excel template which is stored in the BPC 7.0 MS server.
We could do that by using EVMNU("OPENFILE", "Open", "Input Schedules/HQ/H01 Currency Input.xlt")
in OutlookSoft 4.2 environment, but we cannot do the same thing in BPC 7.0 MS SP7 environment.
In BPC 7.0 MS, we can open the Excel template on the client PC only...
    Regards,
    Hiroshi Yaji

    Hi Hiroshi,
Are you trying to open the template from a custom menu?
You can open the templates on the server from the client system by going to data input and selecting "open an existing schedule". This will list you the templates available on the server.
However, for the general purpoe, you can use the following MNU commands
MNU_eTOOLS_OPENSTANDARD: opens the report template library
MNU_eSUBMIT_OPENSTANDARD: opens the input schedule library
    MNU_eSUBMIT_OPENMY: opens my schedule folder
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't open an excel spreadsheet attached to an s-mail - hotmail

can't open an excel attachment to an e-mail v -- hotmail
    == This happened ==
    Just once or twice
== only moved to firefox two days ago

    Ok,
    First Rick.
When I get to the box where the choice of skins are, right
    above it, the choices are:
    Section 508 Compliant Output
    W3C Compliant Topics
I double checked RoboHelps Help...and it says Robohelp for
    Word 6, Build 99.
    Colum...
Here's what I did (I 'thought', I'd start off simple, lol)...
    1. Start Robo.
    2. Select New Project.
    3. The left panel contains all of the folders (I think its
    called Explorer).
The right panel is the default Helpfile word document that
    contains the 'welcome' message.
    4. I added my spreadsheet to the Baggage folder.
    5. Back at the word document, I just added a simple word
    'excel'.
    6. Then I highlighted 'excel', Insert->Hyperlink...and
pointed it to my excel spreadsheet.
    7. Saved it.
    8. Generated it.
Everything opens up fine in IE. Excel is highlighted blue and
    underlined. But its not clickable.

  • I can not open an Excel Spreadsheet

I purchased my MacPro last November. I loaded NUMBERS on my macnine as well as PAGES, and KEYNOTE. I was determined to learn these programs and not rely on using MS OFFICE on my Mac. The rest of my office is still using PC/s and therefore when I am sent a document, it is with MS OFFICE. Up until the first of March, I was able to access all documents sent to me, but sometime in March, EXCEL files sent to me gets an error message:
This document was created with an unsupported version of Excel. Only documents created with Excel ’97 or later can be opened.
It seems to associate to the upgrade that came out for LION during that month. I have tried everything. My office has tried sending in every format without success. WHAT CAUSED THE CHANGE???
I would appreciate any help that I can get.

    Hi Alex,
The trick to this whole thing is to scroll to the bottom of the message. There should be a dashed line at the bottom of the email message with text underneath it that says, "This message was downloaded as plain text." Underneath that it should say (in blue hyperlink text) "Download full message". Select that hyperlink, and the Excel file should download completely. You should then be able to select the document and have it open correctly.
I have had the same concern regardless of file format that is sent, so I do not believe your issue is with file format. Hope this helps.
I've seen the same thing happen with images, which it displays in a corrupted form. It's fixed by downloading the full message.
There's a more serious side effect of this, which I've now seen with several types of files. If one FORWARDS the email to someone else, the attached files it sends them are CORRUPTED and unopenable too. In the case of a Word files I looked at, it had dropped the last two bytes of the file.
The workaround for that is to download the full message before forwarding.
I'm seeing this happening with so many types of attachments that I'm assuming it affects them all. Please everyone report this to Apple feedback (http://www.apple.com/feedback/). It's one thing not being able to open a file on your device, it's another to have files corrupted permanently just by forwarding.

  • How can I integrate an excel spreadsheet to div tags?

I am a high school student and we are having a "contest"
Whoever can make the best website for our school will have their website published and will not have to take the final exam.
I believe that mine is the best in the class so far but there is one thing i really want to do but can't figure out how to.
I want to make an easy to edit calendar using Excel.
I want to have it so that I have 1 table in the page, it is 7x7 with the top row made of a single large cell.
I want to have it so that I cna change the excel sheet and the table will change with it. for example
    A1: November 2011
    B2:Sun
    B2:Mon
    C2:Tue
    D2:Wed
    E2:Thu
    F2:Fri
    G2:Sat
    A3:
    B3:
    C3:1
    D3:2
    E3:3
etc. so that it looks like a calendar for that month on Excel.
Then I use spry tooltips to show what happens that day when you hover over the days. like
    I1:
    J1:
    K1:Nothing today.
    L1: School Dance, 5:00 PM
    etc.
Then I want to be able to edit the code in Dreamweaver so that the table/tooltip boxes show that. with the idea of siplicity
so I put in the line something that makes box A1 on the table show what is in box A1 on Excel.
And the tooltip contains the text within the related box. Is there any way I can do this?
And remember I am just a student and have little experience in Dreamweaver but I can learn fairly easily.

The way a web-based calendar operates is that the calendric information is placed into a data-management application (like MySQL or Oracle, for instance) that is running on a server accessible from the website.  Then a page on the site containing server-scripting commands fetches this information from the database, formats it as desired, and displays it on the page.  An Excel file is generally not suitable to use as a web-based receptacle for data because it will not allow 'scaling', i.e., simultaneous access of the same record by multiple users.
An alternative to this would be to build your information into an XML data file, which can be read by the webpage and displayed as if the data were coming from a database.
Given that information, it should be clear that:
    1.  Your data source would need to be something that is accessible to the website - that means NOT something on your computer or any workstation in your school.
    2.  Your data source would need to be something derived from your spreadsheet - that means NOT your spreadsheet file itself.
    3.  Your data display would have to be custom built on your webpage.
Now - there are applications that can take an XLS file and convert it to a web page (Google "Excel to web page").  But you would have to do the conversion and upload the result to the web site after each update of the calendar.
    Does that help?

  • HT1338 I have OSX Maverick installed and numbers 3.0. Now I can not open previous excel spreadsheets?

I have made every installation or upgrade put out by Apple for 3 years. Now my excel spread sheets previously created will not open since I installed OSX. Says I need to install numbers. At the APP store it tells me

Are you sure you're using Numbers 3.0?  I understand you may have installed it, but make sure you're running the latest version as shown here:
The latest Numbers may not have made ti onto your dock.  If it didn't, find it in your Applications folder and drag it onto your dock.  You can drag the old version off your dock and dispose of it (from an iWork 09 folder in Applications).
If you are actually running Numbers 3.0, the Excel file may be encrypted.  See:

  • How can i open a windows unc link in a email on the ipad?

I work with my ipad in my enterprise and my exchange is sync on it. Sometime i receive some links for a doc or else on a windows share like \\server\path\example.doc.
I want to be able to click and open it directly instead using Filebrowser. Sometime the path can be long.
    Thank you.

Unless you can get an "open in" (or "open with") option when you tap and hold on the URL, then you can't. iOS does not natively support connecting to any file share. You need to use a third-party utility such as FileBrowser, and if the app doesn't register and allow the "open in", then you'll have to copy the URL and paste it into File Browser et. al.
    Regards.

  • How can i open a document with mac that has a windows OS?

i have installed a parallel and windows OS in my macbook pro. I am running some pdf illustrations... i have installed adobe but the document cannot be opened.

If the other posts have not answered your questions, then some more information is needed. What OS are you using, Windows does not say much. Also, what product did you install. Adobe is not a product, but the name of the company with many products. I suspect you meant Reader XI, but I have no clue.

  • How can I open a .jpg file attached to an email?

    Above says it all.
    Thanks.

First save it outside mail, e.g. on desktop; simply drag it there or use save function of attached files in Mail.app
If you double click on it and does not open, the file is corrupt or incomplete.
If you did that while in Mail.app, I assume the download had not yet been completed at the time you clicked on it.
