Hi,
how can i open my iBook on my Mac, not just on my iPhone? I ask this questions in hopes that I can eventually find a way to have the iPhone read a non "Enhanced" iBook to me.
I used the Accessibility reader for a brief time but it's very persinickety. Move the phone a tiny bit and it threw me out from page 70 and back to page 48. Changing pages when you are in Accessibility is excruciating. Now, I cannot get back there at all.
I downloaded 2 apps that claim they can read to me but the closest I can get in the instructions says I need to open the iBook from my Mac computer with my iPhone connected and then I will be able to open the iBook in the app called "Read text to me". Only when I go to open the book on my Mac it says "This book can’t be viewed using this computer. You can view this book using iBooks on your iOS device."
Thank god, I only have a brain tumor and am not yet completely blind.
I've been to the Apple store twice, checked out a youtube page with all it's comments and I am still nowhere, over the course of a week.
Can anybody help me?

You cannot.
Ibooks are only for iphone/ipod touch/ipad
So, there are no third party readers/emulators in Mac OS X and Windows to read them from iTunes? I don't even own an iOS device. I just redeemed Action Comics' Superman #1 from Starbucks and iTunes.

It appears that this extension is related to the ipad app 'notability'. It would have to be exported as a pdf or rtf file to be opened.
You can do some googling, but might be better if the sender converts the file to something more common and sends again.

That is a Windows Backup file. I seriously doubt that there will be any way to read that on a Mac. Do you have a Windows machine that you can use to open those files and save the contents in a more friendly format?

You may need to purchase Apple's MPEG-2 Playback Component (it's included with FCP and DVD-SP). Also try opening the file with VLC Player or MPEG Streamclip.

I return: I tried again with VLC, but this time through the File > Open, and not dropping the file over the icon in the Dock, and it works! (VLC rocks!)
Now I can capture the sound with AudioHijack, if no other option is suggested

I have looked at Internet Explorer and Netscape and both seem to be out of date with our IOS.

Try downloading another browser, Firefox for example. Open the link in Firefox and once the page opens copy the link and paste it in safari address bar. That works for me.
Still trying to find out why we have to do this though since it works just fine in Safari once you had it opened in another browser.

An .exe file is a Windows application/program. You can't "open" them. You would have to have Windows installed in order to use them.
The only exception being if the file is a .zip archive that was created as, or converted to a self extracting file. Those also appear with the .exe extension. In which case, the free Stuffit Expander can open them.

A 'PPT' file is a Microsoft Powerpoint document. You can open them with PowerPoint for Mac, OpenOffice (and derivatives NeoOffice, LibreOffice, and Oracle Office), Apple Keynote, and Google Docs.

Google Docs is web-based office suite. While it's a little awkward, it will permit you to import PPT presentations.

Macros won't tend to work in anything but PowerPoint itself. Your mileage will vary on audio/video and embedded web content. If the presentation is a fairly typical one, however, all of the above will do a fair job of displaying it.

I tried to import my bookmarks but it took only a few bookmarks and left most of my list behind. I tried the import from IE many times and get the same result so how can I get all my bookmarks moved over?

If you have problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
If you do not have the menu bar in IE then right-click the toolbar at the top to enable the Menu Bar.

I'm using MacBook Pro 13in Early 2011 and recent update to Mavericks, I cant open any application on my mac. There is an updates on app store but I can't use them cause the app store refuse to open. When I open any apps they just flicker on the dock and nothing. What to do apart from formating my computor again?

No, basic Nokia phones do not, and have never had a function to easily send audio messages universally. SMS is a carrier feature and uses a very basic transfer mechanism and works only for short, 160-character messages. Through software, some phones later allowed you to type longer messages that the device then broke up seamlessly and sent as multiple SMS messages. MMS is another carrier service developed to be able to transport multimedia like audio and pictures. Again, very basic transfer and usually slow and low quality. Both of these are again, operator services. Your iPhone can send those messages to non-iPhone users using standard carrier services.
On the other hand, your iPhone Messages app uses your iPhone data plan - not unlike your home Internet service - to transfer audio, video and images through Apple's iMessage service. Other services exist that do something similar - WhatsApp for example - which also requires both the sender and recipient to use their app for the service to work.
As for email, Meg is correct. Your email provider is the first line of defense against spam. You should adjust your filters. That said, iOS Mail app had a delete all function, but not in places where it can do more harm than good - i.e. the Inbox. It is present only in the Junk and Trash folders where, presumably, your email provider or you have already been through some decision making process and deemed those emails acceptable to be deleted en masse.

If you sync by playlists, then remove the song from the playlist in itunes, then sync. The song will be removed from the ipod.
However, if you have genres, artists, etc checked, then you would have to remove that genre, artist,etc from the song info.
If you sync by checked song, then uncheck the song and sync.
