First, make sure that sync automatically is disabled: iTunes>Preferences>Devices. Then connect your iPad, do not sync, right-click in the left device pane: Transfer Purchases.
That should put it in your app library, & if a universal app, just sync it to your phone.

In addition to the music i've put on it i thought it might be cool to read books on it so i bought a book ("Tweak" by Nic Sheff) and tried to put it on my iTouch/pod by dragging and dropping it in the section. It told me that i could not do that because i needed to first download the app iBooks. So i proceeded to download the app and put that on my iTouch/Pod and that was all well and succesful, but then i tried again to drag and drop the book. It shows the book as being on my iTouch/Pod when it is plugged into my computer, like it says on my computer's iTunes that the book is on the iTouch/Pod, but when i look for it on my iTouch/Pod i cannot find it in my iBooks app, nor can i find it inany other section or any other part. I'm thoroughly confused. Does anyone understand what i'm trying to ask/Have i explained my problem well enough? Please, pleaseeee can someone help a sister out? Your help would be so greatly appreciated.

p.s. i am not entirely sure about the operating system i have selected, i took a guess at that. it says iTunes 10 on my iTunes. not sure about the iPod/Touch, can not find anything on there.

You should be able to access any book you have purchased from iTunes anywhere.
Do you have settings > iBooks > Show all purchases turned on.

As far as I'm aware you can use your phone anywhere in the world. The phone is 'locked' to your network provider, so it is the SIM card that won't work in Europe. You need to contact your network provider and have global roaming added to your contract.

How can I take the files that were migrated from my PC to my Mac and add all those files to my current user instead of having 2 users? Having to log out just to sign in on a different user to access the files is absurd.
Do I make all the files sharable to all the NOW users on the mac then just delete the files? Or can i erase my account that I made when starting up my new mac and then just use the one with the transferred files?
I just dont want to have to og in and out of 2 different accounts .. Help please.

Sorry. /Users is a folder path. It would be similar to C:\Users (if that exists on Windows).
So, in the Finder, select Computer from the Go menu.
You'll see Macintosh HD, double-click that to open it.
In there you'll see several folders. One is Users. That is where all the user Home folders exist. Select the other account's home folder and go to step 3.
If you have any more confusion, please stop and ask. We'll get there.
If you feel more comfortable, you can just log into that other account and move the files into /Users/Shared.
Then, log into the account you wish to use and copy the files from the Shared folder and paste them into your Home folder, wherever they belong, Documents, Music, Pictures, etc. That just takes a little more work. Transferring them into Shared, and then copying into your home sets the permissions on the files so that you won't have a problem accessing them later. The steps I provided just prevent you from having to do the double move, since you are not going to use the old account once you are done.
Quick unix shorthand. If someone gives you a file path that begins with a /, that means the root of the hard drive, ie Macintosh HD (if you haven't renamed it). The path separator in unix is /, not \.
A path that starts with ~/ means your Home folder, the one inside /Users named with your account name.

Well it started happening AGAIN with my 2nd IPod. No matter what I did, it Itunes would NOT restore it!
I finally installed Itunes on my hubby's PC at work and managed to get it restored there.
Apparently, there must be some sort of compatibility issue with the windows version of Itunes and some other piece of software on my pc.
And one more important thing! I had to follow the instructions in the other thread that talks about how to correctly uninstall itunes and quicktime, in order to completely eliminate ALL traces of my "first" ipod's existence so it wouldn't demand that I restore it.
I think the software got "confused" and thought when I connected my 2nd ipod, that it was the 1st and that it still needed to be restored.
Basically, this is just POORLY written and POORLY tested software!

I exported (with current settings) from Motion 5 now i can't view my movie with QT Player an FCP
won't recognize it.

Have you tried opening the file in FCP?
If there is no error message and it will not play in QT7, it is quite possible the file is corrupted. You will need to go back to the original project and re-export the file.

In v6 airport utility "Join a wireless network" is not available once the TC is setup.
You must reset to factory and try again using the selection options.. and it can fail or not come up.. This is an extremely poor way to setup a TC.. and you should NEVER EVER DO IT.. that is why apple removed it. Since you are joining wireless it makes no difference where the TC is located.. since it would become a dumb AP and turn off its ethernet ports.
Place it right next to your main modem router, plug in by ethernet, and select bridge mode and create a wireless network. Never use Join a wireless network..
However for completeness here is the method.
