How can I overcome boot problems in Vista 64 when Elements 6 is installed?

New computer, Vista Home Premium (64 bit), won't boot up when Elements 6 is installed. Has to go through the whole start up repair routine, sometimes twice over, before it will boot. Uninstall Elements 6 and it's fine. Used same installation CD as with my previous XP computer which had no problems with it. Any suggestions?

I do know how to set my Preferences in iPhoto to edit in an external editing software like PSE. But I like iPhoto '09 for editing so I don't want to do that.
What I use PSE 6 for is digital scrapbooking. So what I'm trying to do is figure out a way to get to my iPhoto library directly from PSE 6 while I'm working in it on a scrapbook layout.
I thought I could just go to File>Open>Media(Finder sidebar)>Photos>, which then opens my iPhoto library, and then from there choose my photos to bring into PSE. But the "Choose" button remains grayed out when I do this, even though I am in my iPhoto library and can click on photos.
I don't understand why? I've discussed this on message boards at digital scrapbooking websites, and none of the Mac users I've discussed this with, can figure it out either. We keep hoping there is an answer to this frustrating dilemma.
What we all do right now as a work around is choose our photos first from iPhoto and move them to the desktop before we even open PSE. Then we can find them easily. But we want to be able to navigate to iPhoto from within PSE and choose our photos that way. Possible??

I have done a little experimenting: 1-close all open windows (I found that I had to do this step in order to keep Safari from hanging-will be explained later). 2: Remove all data in Prefs. 3: Immediately close the prefs window (no window should be open at this point) and quit Safari. Try to complete step 3 fast as possible; I have it down to a few seconds. The reason I urge you to close all windows is that Safari hangs until forced to quit upon immediately quitting after removing cookies. I think the auto page reload in Lion is the cause of these hiccups but I can't be sure about that. The hasty quit I found is crucial to success. Don't know why that is but it could prevent the data from re-populating. A quick flush, if you will. Hit me back if you need any of my suggestions clarified; a bit wordy, I know

You were trying to create a new Apple ID for icloud. But once the device reaches is max allowed to create IDs then you can't create more. That's your situation now. To create a new account you must use another device or computer.
You can't deactivate or turn back the clock.

As I said, you need to read it from the server. Exactly how depends on what kind of data it is. If it's always going to be the same for the program then treat it as a "resource". If it's apt to change without rebuilding the program then serve it as a regular file, and access it via. a regular URL.
Say it's a resource, place it in the same directory as the .class file that loads it and do:
InputStream ds = getClass().getResourceAsStream("data.txt");
Reader r = new InputStreamReader(ds);
BuffererdReader br = new BufferedReader(r);

I suggest you consult the manifactuer of the devices to see if they sell or can recomend signal conditioning gear to output a voltage or a current.
Generally speaking, the charge can be measured by using a capacitor (where V=Q/C) but the leakage current that is introduced when monitoring the voltage across the cap will adversly affect the measurements.
I have designed circuits to do this but it quite un-orthodox.

Since I installed service pack 2 on my HP computer a week or two ago, the Photoshop "Open" tab no longer appears at the top of my Pictures screen, but rather a "Preview" tab, and I haven't been able to open a picture in Photoshop. Instead, when I double click on a picture, it opens in Windows Picture Gallery. Not long after I installed service pack 2, I also changed my default browser from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Thanks...

I also don't seem to be able to disable the Mobileme account via the system preferences option as mobileme doesn't allow access with my password.

Have you tried to disconnect from the Internet before launching Aperture? Then the MobileMe webpage should not be shown and you should be able to access the Aperture preferences and remove the MobileMe account from the "Preferences > Web" panel.
If this does not succeed, (Force) quit Aperture, log off and log on again, then remove the Aperture Preferences file (~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist)
from the Preferences Folder in your User Library and try again to launch Aperture. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805 on how to remove the Preferences.

Honestly, I have no idea. This has been an on again/off again problem for some people going back to the original version. DVD and Blu Ray haven't been much of a priority for Apple for a very long time.
