How can I print from my ipad to the plain paper tray not the photo tray?
I have a new
HP Photosmart Plus All-in-One Printer - B209a
and an ipad on my showroom floor.
I let my customers use the ipad to browse through photos of items that are not on display, then print some of the photos. Right now the print job always goes to the photo tray - but I want it to print on plain letter size paper. If there is no photo paper in the tray, the print job fails with an out of paper error.
Is there a way to get this printer to print photos from the ipad photos app onto the standard paper tray?
Thanks in advance for any insight you can give me.
Richard
Photos will always print from the photo tray, if the printer has one. This cannot be configured by the user currently.

No.
Printopia (running on your Mac) connects the iPad to your printer. -

how can i print from an ipad to my B109n photosmart printer?
Hi,
Firstly please check to see if your printer in the list:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
If YES, you can use this to fix/setup:
iPad: http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/airprint/
iPhone: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/airprint/
If NO you have to print using other apps (if applicable) such as

If the app won't let you print directly from it you might want to open in safari or make a screen capture then print from your photos. -
How can I print from my iPad to my HP Deskjet F4500?
Dear all
How can I print from my iPad to my HP Deskjet F4500?As it does not appear that that model of printer is AirPrint compatible, you will have too look for HP's Eprint Mobile App in the App store.

Alternatively, you may be able to find softare that can run on your computer that would allow printing to the printer from the iPad. One such application is Printopia for MacOsx -

How can I print from my ipad? Printer is wireless and comes up with no airprinter found
How can I print from my ipad using a wireless printer? Printer is listed but comes up no airprinter found
iOS devices can only print directly to AirPrint printers. All AirPrint printers are wireless but not all wireless printers are capable of using AirPrint.
To print directly from an iPad / iPhone you will need an AirPrint compatible printer or another device to act as a print server. That can be a Mac computer running Printopia ($19.95 with free trial) or handyPrint (donation - supported). The Mac must be "on" but may be asleep for them to work. Equivalent PC options may exist but you're on your own finding them.
You can also buy this standalone print server:
http://www.lantronix.com/it-management/xprintserver/xprintserver.html
These options enable you to use any printer available to your network, even older ones that may predate AirPrint by decades.
Otherwise you will need to buy an AirPrint printer or multifunction device. -

How can I print from my ipad air without buying a new "air print" compatable printer? I currently have a HP Photosmart plus B210. Can I make that work?
Although you have posted in a Mavericks forum, implying that you have a Mac computer, your profile doesn't say that you have one. Printer Pro requires the printer to be connected to a Mac.

I have an HP6500 printer connected to an Ethernet port of my wifi router. How can I print from my iPad using AirPrint?
Your printer may not support Airprint. Attached is a how to from Apple for Airprint. If you click on the link for HP supported printers, the HP 6500A is listed, not the HP 6500.

How can I print from the iPad 2 using an Epson Artisan 810 printer.
You said HP in your post title and Epson in your body text, but I think it is actually an Epson Artisan 810.
If that's right, then the free Epson iPrint app should work for you - it lists your printer as one that it supports: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/epson-iprint/id326876192?mt=8 -

How do I print from my ipad? it says it can't find my printer but my macbook can.
Is your printer AirPrint compatible? My MacBook can see my printer but my iPad doesn't because my wireless printer is not AirPrint Compatible.
Here are all of the AirPrint printers.

If your printer is not on that list, you need a third party app in order to print - Print and Share, Print Central, you can use Printopia for the Mac. Search for other apps that will let you print using your current printer. -
