Depends on why it's ineligible. If it's under 96 Kpbs, try right-clicking on the file and choosing Create AAC Version. (If you don't see this option, go to iTunes>Preferences, click "Import Settings..." then choose "Import Using: AAC Encoder" and "Setting: iTunes Plus".) Then rescan your library to see if this version will add to iTunes Match. Or, after changing your import setting, just re-import the song to your iTunes library.
If the song is over 200 MB you would have to reduce it's size to make it eligible.

If needed press ctrl-b to reveal the menu bar. Use Shift-View > Show Exact Duplicates to reveal the duplicates. Keep one of each repeated group of files and don't send to the recycle bin unless you are sure that there are multiple files on the disc as opposed to multiple entries to the same file.
There is also my DeDuper script if you don't want to do it by hand. This can preserve ratings, play counts, playlist membership, etc. which are lost in a manual clean up. I have the same problem, where my music library shows duplicates of just about everything I put in iTunes now. It began about a month ago. As far as looking at Date Added, well they are duplicates all put on at the same time. It isn't a matter of the title showing up later, or my having accidentally added the same song twice (say, from different sources or compilations). This is a problem with Apple I think because it just began a month ago and I changed no settings, nor did I do anything else. It just began to happen out of the blue. Anyone know about this?

It's a never ending annoying circle. How can I get the song to play?

Hey there,
One option is to change the songs starting time in iTunes. To change when a song starts and ends locate and highlight the song in iTunes. From there, right->click the song and choose "Get Info" from the Menu. When the window pops up, head over to the Options tab and in the middle of the window there are options to adjust the starting and ending times for that song or songs. When you are satisfied, go ahead and hit OK to apply the changes.
From there, sync the updates to your iPod.

I purchased a song from Itunes, downloaded into my library and synced to my Ipod....Well when playing the song, it cuts off at the 3:20 mark, and the song itself is 4:07 long....I have tried everything, but I cannot get it to work...Can someone please help me? Or guide me in the right direction for a refund.

Does the track play all the way through in iTunes? If not, remove the song and redownload it via iTunes. It will cost you nothing.

If contacts on each iPhone are being synced direct with the same supported address book app on the computer via the iTunes sync process, deselect Sync Contacts under the Info tab for the iPhones that you don't want synced with the same address book followed by a sync.
If each iPhone is sharing the same Apple iCloud account with Contacts enabled for over the air syncing, each iPhone needs its own iCloud account.

I purchased a song and trying to turn it into a ringtone for my iphone 5 (following instructions on the support forum), the original has got messed up- I have one copy of the song that is now three seconds, and one copy that works for two seconds... of the original 3.26!
When I've tried to download it again from the cloud (by clicking on the cloud button by the song) it makes no difference, just downloads another version for three seconds, and when I've tried going to the original on itunes no more than three seconds of that song will play.
How can I fix this??

Just for clarity, music redownload is part of iCloud which is presenlty only available in the USA as a beta when you are using the latesest iTunes.
