My son requested an iTunes Match gift card for Christmas; can anyone tell me how to purchase one for him? Thank you!

When I signed up for iTunes Match, the $25 annual fee was deducted from my iTunes credit, so if you buy a iTunes gift card worth at least $25, that would work. However, if your son has an account with the UK iTunes store, he won't be able to use the service, because it's currently only available to those who have a US iTunes account (I've heard it will probably be available in other countries next year).

Are you both in the same country? You can only gift to someone in the same country as you who uses the same country's iTunes store.

If you are in the US then your iTunes purchased music should be in the cloud for redownloading in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app - but music can be removed from the store at any point by the record companies (and similarly for other content types as well), so you shouldn't rely on being able to redownload it in the future.

Do you have another device (eg a computer) that also contains your music? If so, yes, you can turn off iTunes match and sync everything with a cable. Do you tend to buy new music from downloads or ripping CDs? If downloads, you can turn on "download purchases automatically" on the phone to make them available to you there, once you've cable-synced your current library. If CDs, you would have to manually sync with cable (or over local wifi) each time you add a new CD.

I have itunes match running on my mac mini and it works fairly well. Unforuntely I believe my son has matched all the songs on my PC which is connected to a different library. I now have loads of duplicates and many,many split albums. How can I remove all itunes match data and start again with the library that is on my mac. ANy help would be very much apprecaited as I have a complete jumble of music now!Select the items you don't want in iTunes and delete, when prompted check the box to have them deleted from iTunes Match.

Sorry, but it's quite possible that you can't. If there's an Apple Store in the country to which you want to give the gift, you can call them ask ask if they'll accept a Canadian credit card for a gift card purchase to be shipped to an address in the relative's country. If they won't, then you'd have to find an independent reseller in that country that carries iTunes gift cards who could accept your credit card, and there may be none.
