How can I put my daughters files onto my sons Ipod

My daughter dropped her Ipod touch and the screen is now all white. I want to install her files onto another Ipod touch. How do I do this?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
What sort of files are we talking about.
Is the iPod synced with a computer and if so, does it still sync.

  • How can I put seperate score files onto one page in the Layout?

I have written some exercises in different keys. They are small files. Each of them are saved individually and cover only part of a page each but I want to lay them out on one single page. I can't work out how. Each file is in a different key. As a short term solution I tried to combine them into one file and then could not work out how to change the key signature. When I insert the #'s and b's the following notes don't move to the right. So that does not work the way I do it. Does someone have a solution, please?
    Cheers,

Thank You, musicspirit, for your support. What you suggested I had done already, but it did not work always only sometimes. ( Like a disfunctional light switch). Maybe I missed some setting or whatever or tried too many things...or..Anyway quite a few things didn't work, I spare you the details. Meanwhile I did disk maintenance and tossed out the files and started again from scratch ( which I wanted to avoid) and everything worked out fine so far. No problems with clef change, etc.
But to make it look as if I had three songs or three separate exercises on one page I need to create a bigger space between the 3rd and 4th staves and the 6th and 7th staves. I can do this only globally, which means I manage only to increase the space between all the staves. (I hope I am not asking the wrong thing again. Manuals are not always easy for the novice.)

  • I bought a relative's original iPad. I want to leave the apps on it and add my own pdfs to read. My itunes account is really for my iPod. the computer says that if I "Sync" the iPad will be erase, and become like my iPods. how can I just get my files onto

I am a first-time iPad owner/user. I bought a relative's original iPad. I want to leave the apps on it and add my own pdfs to read. My itunes account is really for my iPod. iTunes message says that if I "Sync" the iPad will be erase, and become like my iPods. If I make a new iTunes account, would the apps be erased when I tried to use it?
How can I just get my files onto this iPad, and still have the apps that my relative left there for me?
    Thank you.

iPads sync to 1 computer only.
All media and apps are tied to the Apple ID that purchased them.
Without your relatives ID and password, you cannot update any of the Apps.
I am pretty certain he is also violating Apples terms of service by giving you the apps.

Either sync it from your iTunes library or redownload it directly to the iPod by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • How can I put my mp3 files into my iTunes library? Every time I download a song from a website and try to drag it to my library, it won't add on. How can I fix this?

Back then when I had the older update with iTunes i never had this problem with trying to put my mp3 files of music into my iTunes library. Now it doesn't want to be put into the library. Once I try to drag the music file to the iTunes library nothing happens, it just keeps showing a cancellation sign with my mouse. So how can I fix this?

    Hi William.
The problem is probably that the index is corrupt and you need to completely re-create it rather than rebuilding individual mailboxes. I have no idea what the situation really is now after having tinkered with the contents of ~/Library/Mail/, though, so the following procedure may or may not work.
Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, and making sure that there’s enough space available on the startup disk (a few GB, plus the space needed to make a backup copy of the Mail folder), try this:
    1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/. Make a backup copy of this folder, just in case something goes wrong -- e.g. by dragging it to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down.
    3. Locate Envelope Index and move it to the Trash. If you see an Envelope Index-journal file there, delete it as well.
    4. Open Mail. It will tell you that your mail needs to be “imported”. Click Continue and Mail will proceed to re-create Envelope Index -- Mail says it’s “importing”, but it just re-creates the index if the mailboxes are already in Mail 2.x format.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user’s home folder.

  • How can I put non-English characters onto JMS queues?

    Hi
I am posting XML documents onto a JMS queue configured in a WLS domain. The XML doc is UTF-8 but WebLogic does not seem able to handle the advanced characters and shows them as 2 chars each (such as umlauts). How can I configure WebLogic to handle such special characters?
    Any help greatly appreciated,
    Craig

In order to send an XML message we need to use Interface XMLMessage and send the message by setDocument(Document document) .
In the document set the content of the message to the DOM document. If we follow this procedure I guess there should not be any issue.

  • Can't put ripped DVD files onto iPod

I've ripped a couple of 1.5hr video files to MPEG4 format using Xilisoft's DVD to iPod software (very good by the way) but I can't get these files onto my iPod (I've checked them in Quicktime and they look fine).
I've tried importing into the library then manually dragging and dropping, but they just won't copy (I don't get any warning message either). Syncing doesn't work either.
    Anyone got any ideas?

What exactly happnes when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Did you set up the iPod on this computer?

  • How can I download previous iTunes purchases onto a new iPod using someone else's computer?

    Hi,
I've brought an ipod shuffle and need to download my itunes purchases but I don't have access to my own computer for another couple weeks.  How can I download from itunes?  I'm getting a message that the friend's computer I'm using can't use a different apple ID for 90 days - I'll be long gone by then and back with my own computer!!!
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Multiple people can indeed use multiple Apple IDs on the same computer in multiple user accounts as long as they do not use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or re-download any past purchases. However, if you'll read the KB article I posted a link to you'll see that for the purposes of those services a computer can only be associated with one Apple ID every 90 days. If the OP associates their friend's computer with their Apple ID and downloads purchases from the purchase history the owner of the computer will be locked out from using iTunes Match, automatic downloads or re-downloading any past purchases.
It's not that the friend will be unable to use iTunes at all, but what the OP wants to do will associate their friend's computer to thier Apple ID for 90 days which may cause the friend some inconvinence.

  • My drive collapsed. I have an external hard drive. How can I put all my files there, using disk utility?

So my MacBook Pro collapsed one day, and it turns on but only "Restarts" and shuts itself down on the procesa. The only thing I have access to is that 'Command + R' thing. There I tried "Verifying" and "Reparing" the Diak but the message of "Cant repair disk backup as many files as possible, reformat the disk and restore" popped up. So I have am external hard drive with more than enough space to put all of my files in there. my question is: HOW DO I DO THAT? from disk utility. Can somone please help me? Please! Step by step cause ptherwise I will mess it up and I really dont want to lose all the memories I have in my computer.

After you restart so you have access to Disk Utility, with the external drive connected, choose the external drive from the left sidebar of the DU window.  If the drive has not been formatted for the Mac, choose Partition from the buttons top center of the main window.  Give the drive a name, you can leave it as one partition if you like, make sure the format is set as Mac OS X Extended (Journaled), and the partition table is GUID.  Then Apply and acknowledge that you know this will erase the disk.
Then go to the button that says Restore.  Drag and drop the internal drive, Macintosh HD is most common, to the Source box, and drag and drop the external drive to Destination box.  Then Restore.
That will create a clone of the internal and that will be a bootable clone.

  • How can I put my emix files back into mail.

    Hi
I've trawled the forums and think I've tried all suggestions. My mail froze when collecting mail and on restart the messages were in the viewer window but when double clicked they came up with the message about them not been downloaded from the server. I then rebuilt the mailbox and all messages disappeared apart from one. The messages however, were in the correct folder as emix files, which can be read when double clicking on them. I've tried copying them into a new folder, I've tried putting the messages folder in a new folder xxxx.mbox and when I try to import it goes through the motions (quickly) and says it can be retrieved in import 5, which doesn't exist, and if I drag the xxxx.mbox folder into the mailboxes folder in my hom/librarymail it appears on the tree but doesn't show any contents, even when rebuilt. I have 10,000 messages in this mailbox. I have subsequently got a new MacBook Pro and even starting from scratch the problem remains - any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Will

  • How can I save Illustrator CC files onto my external hard drive - Free Agent Go Flex Drive? Nothing works, can't even drag files over. Is the drive not compatible?

Nothing seems to work, not even dragging files over. Is the drive not compatible? Am working on a new Mac Book, its not a problem on my older IMAC?

There are two scenarios in which GoFlex drives are supported for use with a Mac. When you connect a GoFlex drive to a Mac, you will be presented with a utility to configure the drive for use. First, if you want to use your GoFlex drive solely with a Mac, the utility will reformat the drive into the HFS+ format, which allows you to use the drive with Time Machine or the included Memeo Premium backup software for Mac. If you would like to be able to "shuttle" data back and forth between a Mac and a PC, a special driver needs to be installed onto the Mac that allows it to access a Windows-formatted drive (i.e. NTFS). Time Machine will not work in this case, nor will Memeo Premium software for Mac. However, if you want your GoFlex solution to also work with TimeMachine, the drive will need to be reformatted to HFS+ journaled.

  • HT2371 How can I put the Welsh language onto my daughter's iPod touch?

I want my daughter to continue using the Welsh language while using her iPod and she has agreed to this also. I thought it might help her over the next few years as she is taking Welsh Full Course at GCSE level.

One way would be to use a wireless keyboard with the ipod.  There you can select the US Extended keyboard layout which lets you type the extra characters required, â, ê, î, ô, û, ŵ, ŷ and any other accents.
Another way would be use the apps Unicode Map or UniKey to create a sort of custom keyboard layout with the extra characters that could be used for copy/paste operations.
Another way would be to create keyboard shortcuts for the special characters in settings > general > keyboard > shortcuts.
There is no way to add a Welsh version of the menus and dialogues for the device.

  • How can I put a Pages file on icloud?

Is there are way to load a Pages document, or keynote or numbers for that matter, on iCloud?  I can do this through iWorks but would like it to do it automatically.

iF you have wifi enabled, that will drain the battery somewhat, even if you aren't actively using any of the wifi type apps. whats the point of having apps if you don't want to use them due to some perceived notion it will kill your battery?? Just give it a try!
