Then it sounds like something has gone wrong with the Norton installation. If the toolbar is not in the add-ons list then I think that means it has not been installed. I would contact Norton Support.
If you can't get a response from them then the next thing I would try would be to completely uninstall Norton and install again from scratch. You would need to ensure that you store the product key or whatever so that you don't lose the time remaining on your licence. I am not a Norton support person or even a Norton user so I don't know what exactly would be involved in this process.
Norton Support should be your first port of call. I hope that helps.

Norton has had over 5 months to work in their Firefox extensions, since the API's were locked for 4.0. Ask Norton why they pull this crap every time Mozilla releases a new version of Firefox. When Firefox 3.6 was released mid-January 2010, it took Norton until almost April to come up with a working version of their Firefox extensions.

In my current Firefox, the "new tab" icon/item from the "customize" pop-up window menu of items is placed next to my home, back, forward buttons near the top-left of my header (Button 1 for "new tab"). Then, the tab bar automatically come with a small tab (with a + sign) to the right of your last tab opened (so you click on + and a new tab opens. Button 2 for "new tab"). I like to have this "new tab" button twice (as a + mini tab, and next to my "home icon".
When I upgraded to Firefox 4, I seemed to be only able to "customize" or use the "new tab" in one place. Either as an icon next to home button, or as a "+ minitab", but NOT both.
What can I do to put this button in Firefox 4 on BOTH places???
Your help is really appreciated. I want to upgrade, but I want my buttons on both places...

The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:

The Windows bar already functions as a tab bar. Those tabs are called "windows." So, I find Firefox tab windows superfluous. How can I disable them completely from Firefox 23? I don't need what is essentially TWO windows bars covering up the entire width of my widescreen monitor's image! I already have a Windows bar at the bottom of my screen and, if I really wanted to, I could change ITS position to the top of the screen, so that it would LOOK like the Firefox tab windows bar. This sounds like spamware you might have installed by accident. If you go into Add-Ons (Firefox -> Add-Ons) it should be under 'Extensions'. Click the 'Remove' button and that should get rid of it.
You might also find it under 'Programs and Features' in Control Panel. Remove it if it's there.

How can I put my playlists on my NAS media server (Buffalo Linkstation mini) so I can access them through Home Sharing and Sonos? FYI, right now I run my iTunes with media location on my laptop's c: drive so I can manage podcasts while on the go and map a lettered network drive to the media server device when I connect up at home.
