How can I put songs of a different album together?

I've got an album and I'm trying to put a missing song in the same group, but iTunes keeps separating it.

This can be done...because I've done it. There's just something in your tag info that needs to be fixed.
Check Album Artist field and make sure it's the same on all tracks. Also look at year of release, disc x of x, etc. And make sure the track x of x info has the correct ending track number.

How can I transfer songs from two different itunes?

I want to transfer songs from my brother's itunes library to my shuffle, but when I plug it in his computer, a message saying that his library is not linked to my library (or something to that extent) and whether I would like to replace the songs. If I click yes, all my existing songs are replaced with HIS songs. If I click on NO, the Shuffle icon does not appear at all and I cannot transfer any of his songs to my shuffle. How can I transfer songs from two different computers into my shuffle without replacing any of my existing music?

You'll have to setup your iPod to manual instead of automatic update (I'm not sure, though, if it works with the Shuffle as well).

Ok first off, Graffiti LOVE your icon. And you do make complete sense and as for try, I kinda figured that was the case. One folder with all the files ARE in word, yet these are in PDF in another folder. Why they were not all done in Word at the time I have NO clue. I'm going to assume it was the IT guy's idea.
I'm sitting here stressing b/c I can't find a way to do this and now I find out it's not a good idea to have ANYTHING in PDF as well as NOT being able to transfer to word with in reason and to make it look as it did.
So what it boils down to is I will ultimately have to do it individual and convert on my own. Pretty much make a new format in Word and transfer all the information one at a time, GREAT. My 2nd week here at work and this is what I have to look forward to FOREVER lol
I will, however, make me a format I can handle and easy to do, idiot proof as it were.
I appreciate all of your information. In the back of my mind, I knew the answer, but wanted to clarify before going to my supervisor (who has NO clue about computers or the fact some things can't be done. more of why CAN'T I do it, you know) and see what I can do from there.
The man purpose is to have continous access to that file instead of multiples b/c of the IT limiting PDF to 2 pages. YAY for me

HT2729 How can I put songs into the album they came from but were split because of multiple artists on a tune?

I need help in finding out home to combine songs from the same CD into one Album. When putting CD into the iMac, it auto loads into iTunes. If the artist is singing duet and the songs show more than one artist, it gets separated in iTunes. I want to combine all tracks together like they are on the CD.

One way around this is to edit the album info for each song on that album and make the album artist 'various artists', or you can remove that duet artist and make all the artists the same.
Seems to be a glitch or change with how iTunes sees albums now. THey alphabetize them by artist and, as you've noticed, if the artists are different, it sees them as different albums.
I had many albums like this and spent a whole weekend editing the info to 'various' to clean it up.

MISSING ITUNES SONGS AND HOW CAN YOU PUT SONGS FROM IPOD ONTO ITUNES?

i opened my itunes one day and all 654 of my songs were GONE. the entire itunes was blank, as if it was newly installed. it wasn't.
I have an ipod mini, and that still contains the songs since i did not attach my ipod to my computer when i saw that it was empty. my ipod still has 654 songs. But the problem is, that i wont be able to put new songs if my itunes is blank.
How do you transfer songs from the ipod to the itunes? Usually when you connect the ipod, it automatically updates, so how will i be able to do that. I have new CDs and i want to put some of those songs on my ipod, but i wont be able to do that if my itunes makes my ipod blank. I called apple support but it costs 29 freaking dollars to help me.

okay, well it has been a long time since i have done this, but i will try to do it to the best of my memory.
uninstall itunes.
then reinstall it.
plug your ipod in.
a box will pop up that says something like would you like to connect your ipod to this library?
click NO.
then, on the sidebar there should be a boldfaced DEVICE sign.
your ipod should show up.
go to summary
then check managely manage my music, and then update.
this means that when you plug your ipod in, you will have to put the music in yourself. this is good because you can pick and choose, and you can delete songs off your ipod if you do not like it anymore. also, you have the ability to play the music on your computer when your ipod is plugged in. hope that helps..

My IPod and IPad were synced to my home computer. Itunes was just erased from the computer. I just got a mac and authorized it, but it only transferred my purchases and I have a large amount of songs from cd's. I want to upgrade the software on my devices without losing my songs or documents. How can I do this?

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone/ipod/ipad. The only exception is itunes purchases.

This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes." I got that when I tried to open itunes after i installed a burning software. I am going to have to reinstall itunes, but I don't want to loose all my album art and play count and playlists. How can I save all this??

Don't Worry, as long as your music is consolidated in your library, then your information (ie alb. art lyrics blah) will be saved! Just don't delete your music in your iTunes folder!

How do I address songs to a different album than on the computer?

I've just bought the new Iphone 3G but have hardly used Itunes before, that's why I need some (perhaps for you beginners) help.
I've got plenty of albums and I do not want to have all songs on all albums in my phone. That's why I want to create a couple of new albums with my favourite songs from different artist and add to my other albums on the phone. My problem is that I do not want to change the info about what album the song belongs to on my computer, only on the Iphone.
For example: I want to create an album with "the best of Faith no more" and I want it to contain 2 songs ("Ashes to Ashes" from the album "Album of the year" and "Epic" from the album "The Real Thing"). I want the new album (in my Iphone) to appear like any other album when I go through the cover flow (with a specific image, here is my first problem due to two different images on the two songs). Moreover I still want the song "Ashes to Ashes" belong to the album "Album of the year" on my computer (and that it has the image shown from the same album), but not on my Iphone (here it's supposed to belong to "the best of faith no more" and have a suiting image for my new album).
The only solution I can come up with is to make different playlists, but then they will not be shown in cover flow will they!?
When I have synchronized the music I can not edit the songs on the Iphone... so it seems I have to do, what ever I have to do, on my computer before I synchronize... :-/ (on my girlfriends iPod you can edit your songs on the iPod after you've synched, but not on my iPhone it seems...)
How do I solve my problem?

Yes, but that is not what I want. I want them to appear with my "custom made" album in cover flow on my phone. But still I want them to belong to it's original album on my computer...
I just want to gather some songs from an artist and put it all to one album without changing the album information (on the songs that are still on my computer)where it comes from!
Perhaps that isn't posible!? it is posible with my girlfriends iPod so I thought it would be with my iPhone as well

When I copied my cd collection to my iTunes account, I use the view by CD option in the viewer. How can I get songs from the same album to show nder the same view, instead of making it a separate thing?

How can i fix this problem with songs from the same album, not being organized under the same when they are from the same CD?

Thank you... just read up on iTunes Match. That stinks, paying a yearly thing... but I understand everyone has to make a dollar. I think I'm better off just picking the best songs out of my collection storing them on my computer or iPhone then selling my CD's to some used CD place. If I ever really want to hear a song there are multiple options and if I want it... the .99 to 1.29 option is always there.

Apparently ITunes match/cloud will only let me download full albums and not indivudial songs which it used to. So I'm trying to put on songs one by one the old school style, yet several non-itunes purchased songs won't go on to the phone? Seems odd that I can't do this, also odd that this is an issue. Any help would be appreciated. Going through 2000 songs individually is rather tedious.

Also, why can't you manually put on songs, and give yourself the abilty to download individual songs from the cloud. Maybe I just don't know how to do it because it seems like an obvious function right?

Is your music on your mom's computer? Or are you trying to sync the music from your iPod to your mom's computer?
If the first, your iPod will easily connect to your mom's computer and any playlists you choose in the iPod preferences.
If the latter, you are going to need a third party app to copy your files from your iPod to your mom's computer. Search versiontracker.com for "copy music from iPod to iTunes" and you should find a few that should work.

iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod, iPad, or iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
With your iPod connected, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPod.
If you had Sync Music selected under the Music tab for your iPod sync preferences with iTunes, after downloading a song from the iTunes store direct with your iPod, the song would be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPod with iTunes after doing so.
Manually managing music and videos is manual all the way.

You can't. To buy from another country's iTunes store you need an account in that Store. To have one you need a billing address in that country to setup your account.

How can I get songs back on an album that are lost?

I recently bought an album on itunes and it downloaded on to "family" account. I then downloaded my purchased content on to my phone with no trouble. When I later went to listen to the album, I could only listen to 1 out of the 12 songs. All the other songs were there but they had red circles next to them with stop buttons in the middle. Its rather annoying as it means that I've basically used up £7.99 of a gift card on one song!
Does anyone know how to get them back?

A few things to consider:
When you delete songs directly from your iPhone iTunes assumes you do not want those songs on the phone so when you sync with iTunes again it wil not automatically recopy them.
With that being said I have to ask how your songs are setup to be synced:
1) "Entire music library" - If this is the case you will need to uncheck sync music in itunes, let it wipe the songs off your phone and then re-check sync music and let it copy all the songs back again.
2) "Playlist" - if you are syncing music only by playlist you can uncheck the playlist that is missing the songs, save the changes and then re-check it again forcing it to resync the songs you deleted.
