How can i put text across a photo?

how can i put text across a photo?

You'll need an external editor for that:
In order of price here are some suggestions:
Seashore (free)
The Gimp (free)
Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
Acorn ($50 approx)
Pixelmator ($50 approx)
Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate. You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

I would like to put text on some of my photos,,,,How?

Aperture really isn't designed to put general text on an image. You could cobble something together using the Book interface but I don't think it would really be a suitable solution.
You'll need to look into using a plugin, BorderFX is a free plugin that many users her (including myself) have used. It does what you are looking for and works well.

Did this software slow down the system in your experience?
No, not afaik. It behaves like any other external editor. You do not need to have it running in the background all the time. Just activate it from the contextual menu after ctrl-clicking the image you want to annotate and select "Edit with plug-in -> BorderFX" from the pop-up menu (or Photos ->  Edit with plug-in -> BorderFX) .
Corky02 really said it all - the only draw back is that this plug-in really is more like an export plug-in and the edited version will create a new master.

How can I put text in transparent background?
Message title was edited by: Brett N

    Good day!
You can create a new document (»Background Contents« set to »Transparent«), use the Type Tool (T) to create text and then save in a format that supports layers like psd, psb, tif.
If the receiving application can’t handle those png24 is another option.

  • How can I put words on a photo?

is there a program that enables me to add a word maybe from a copy and paste on top of an existing photo?

    Hi there!
You can easily add text to an image in Photoshop. It's very easy and takes only a few steps.
First, open you image in Photoshop. Then, you're going to click on the Type Tool from you tool bar, as shown below.
Now you can start typing, or copy and paste text you already have. You can change the font size, color, and typeface from the Type Tool toolbar that will appear at the top of your screen.
For a more detailed explanation of how to use the Type Tool in Photoshop, here's a quick video tutorial.

  • How can I add Text to my photos?

I would like to add Text to my photos, save the image and upload to be printed at my local Camera and Print Shop.  How do I do this?  I have bought the lightroom 5 book (which is the version I have) but I only find how to add text prior to printing and not how to save the image and print elsewhere.

OK - so will a Watermark appear on the photo itself?  Or - will it appear on the bottom (within the margins)?  Example - I took some photos of a client's son.  It was his 6 month photo shoot.  I would like to put something like "6 Months Old" in the template of the photo.  Not necessarily on the photo itself - is that possible.  What am I doing wrong?

What version of iPhoto are you using?  iPhoto 7 (08) or iPhoto 8 (09)? If you're running iPhoto 8 (09) then click on the Setting button at the bottom, click on Show Captions and select what you want to be displayed:

  • How can I add text to a photo?

Is there a way in iPhoto to add text directly to a photo being edited?  With my old PC I was able to add text with Microsoft dicital image suite software.  Thanks.........Allen

Adding text to a photo is not a feature of iPhoto.
    You can do it with
Preview - already on your machine
    BorderFX - a free plug-in. (http://www.iborderfx.com/iborderfx/)
    or an external editor.

  • How can I put text under background?

    Hi all,
I'm trying to put text over background, specifically
    a) using 'textures' - 'liquid - 'pool' so that the text looks like it is being viewed under water with the ripple effect distorting the text.
    b) using 'texture' - 'medley' - 'stage' i.e. to make the text look as if it is printed on the background rather than hovering above it.
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
    Dave.

  • How do you put text into a photo book?

I am new to Photoshop Elements, using Elements 11, and my first project is to make a photo book for a recent trip.  I have figured out importing the pictures and titles.  I want to include a 3000 word story on 3 or 4 pages.  I have spent hours trying to do this.  I thought I would be able to easily copy and paste from Word but that isn't working for me.  I have retyping the whole thing in "Your Text Here".  I can't seem to make it work.  Pane sizing is an issue.  Editing after I have typed several paragraphs.  I am about to give up.  I can't locate any tutorials etc on how to do this.  I bought Elements 11 for Dummys and they might as well have skipped photo books.  It was useless.  Can someone give me some guidance please?

Try creating a new page template in expert mode.
File >> New >> Blank File
Select your page size height and width and background color and use 300 ppi for printing.
Then select the T tool, click top left, and copy and paste your text.
Save as jpeg and add it to your book as an image and use the bounding box to scale/re-size.
Note you may have to click inside the text area and add the carriage return as it’s not easy to justify text in elements.
I would suggest you first save as PSD that will preserve the text layer as a separate layer. You can then re-open the PSD file at any time e.g. if you decide to edit any of the text. Treat it as your master file and use it to save a fresh jpeg whenever needed.

  • In Pages how can I add text under a Photo and keep word wrap correct?

Creating pages of a book, I'm having no trouble adding a photo to the body of the text and wrapping the text. However I want to add a description of the photo just below the photo, but have not been able to. The text box is not in the correct location and moving it around disturbs the adjacent wrapped text. Advice please. Thanks.

You will have to use the text box. A lot will depend on how long the caption is. If it's a one-liner, I can usually deselect the wrap and squeeze it in the space between the picture and the main text. If it's several lines long you will have to use the wrap but you can reduce the extra space. Or try grouping it with the picture.

  • How can I add text "slides" between photos in a slideshow?

I'm making a presentation to a group. I want to use two or three photos, together, to illustrate a point (and be able to back up and go forward for clarity). But I would like a simple text (white on black background) announcement of what the next topic is, before showing the photos.
I have no idea what such panels/slides would be called, which makes it a little tricky to find them in the missing manual . . . or anywhere else.
Is it possible to do this in iPhoto? Or do I have to create the notices/titles/topics in another program (like Photoshop Elements) first?
Thanks up front. The presentation isn't for over a week yet, so there's time to play.

If you can create your slide in any text editor, Pages, Word, whatever, all you need to to is type Command+P(to start a print job) , then click on the PDF button in the next window and select Save PDF to iPhoto in the menu that appears.
This creates a jpeg version of the document and imports it into iPhoto.  From there you can add it to the slideshow.
With Pages and other apps that let you use a color background you can make very nice title slides. Even Powerpoint.  Make a PP page as a slide and then print that one page as I outlined above.  User the landscape orientation with any application you use.

  • How can I put old albums into Photo Stream?

It used to be so easy to synch photos to my various devices: iPod touch, iPhone, iPad from my computer using iTunes.  I could select the albums I wanted on each device, and there they were!  But, iTunes now tells me that it no longer synchs photos.  When I go to iPhoto and try to put old photos in the Photo Stream, it takes forever, and the photos in an album are all scrambled.  It's like starting over.  There has got to be an easier way -- what is it?

Web Galleries published in iPhoto are in the order that the web gallery albums are in iPhoto - if you drag a web gallery into a different position and sync the web gallery matches the order
I do not know how iWeb handles the order -- try web galleries and see how they work for you
