I recently purchased an HD movie--Brave--from the iTunes store. I'm trying to play on my original iPad (iPad 1), but iTunes refuses to synch it because it says it is an unsupported format. The movie is in 1080p format. I typically get both HD and SD formats when I purchase movies, but iTunes no longer downloads the SD version automatically when I purchase the HD version. I attempted to get an SD version from the store, but it said I already purchased the movie and instructed me to check the downloads. There is no SD download pending and a check for new downloads was fruitless.
Can someone confirm that the original iPad is unable to play HD video? I imagine it is the 1080p that's the problem. Can anyone confirm that 720p would work? Is there no longer a means to get both HD and SD when purchasing a movie from the iTunes store? If there is, how?

You can get the SD or 720p version by:
Open iTunes 11
Click iTunes in menu bar > select Preferences...
Click on the Store tab
Change When downloading High Definition videos, prefer dropdown to 720p > click OK
Click on the iTunes Store button
Click Purchased link
Click Movies tab
You should now see a download icon for the movies you already have 1080p version of.
Click on this download icon to download the 720p version.
This will put a 720p version in the same folder on your hard drive as the 1080p version. If you have iTunes setup to play 1080p when available, it will play the 1080p version. When you connect your iPad 1, it will sync the 720p version.
Don't forget to change your preference back to 1080p so you can continue to get the higher quality version.

You have to be in a country, and have a billing address in that country, to download from its store. You can try requesting that the app be added to the Slovenia store, but unless the app's developer/rights-holder agrees to it then Apple won't be able to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

You go into settings, iTunes and App Store and turn off to show all. Show all shows both 'on device' and 'in the cloud'. Turning that off makes your device show 'on device' only and makes the cloud items invsible.

How do I purchase movies from the itune store. This is what I bought the iTouch for - airplane travelling which I do a lot. I am Canadian and the Canadian itunes, I just found out does not have movies and there does NOT seem to be any way I can open an account on the American iTunes store even though I am trying to register with my American Express card.

Short of moving to the U.S. (so you have a U.S. billing address) and getting a U.S. based credit card (billed to the aforementioned U.S. address), you can't. And is it really worth trading decent health care for a few movies?

ITunes 11 won't play downloaded rented movie from iTunes Store

Last night I rented a HD movie from the iTunes Store. I downloaded it to iTunes 11 on my 17" MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.2 and Quicktime 10.2.
First off the movie has a blank icon but when I click on it it does show the details of the movie. However, when I try to play it all I get is this message — "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."
As far as I know everything on my computer is up to date so why is this message appearing? For the **** of it I tried the 32 bit trick but iTunes wont start under that!
I then tried playing movie on my Apple TV2 — I can see the movie in the Rentals section but here it is asking for me to Authorise my computer! When I do this on my computer I am told it is already authorised which I knew anyway!
This is most annoying!

I am having an identical issue but it is for a Movie I actually purchased from the iTunes Store (Casino Royale). I get the exact same error message in iTunes when I try and play it This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes." and the artwork for the movie will not show up, even if I try and manually add artwork to the Movie myself.

Hi, i was living in London, for arround 3 years i bought my iPhone 5 while i was living there, now i am in Peru (Lima) and my iPhone is not working propertly.
The mobile is not sound when some one i calling me, also when i receive a msge from whats app, facebook or bbm etc. I went to an iSupport here in Lime and they told me that apparentlly is a problem whith the sound botom on the left side, is not working. Becouse when they try to put it this one up or down nothing apear on the screen, it is suppose to show a bell whit a cross on the middle but this image never appear.
They also told me that the garantee is regional, so if i bought in London i have to put it in London.
I appreciate your coments as soon as possible.

Not London solely, but an iPhone sold in the United Kingdom will be be supported and serviced by Apple only in the United Kingdom or one of the other European Union countries (the EU is considered to be a single country for warranty/support purposes). You will need to take your iPhone to such a country or send it to someone you know there to get it services.

Er=3259 -- Cannot download a song from iTunes store that is paid for

There is one song (The Bear Necesseties)that is on the Walt Disney Archive Collection Vol.1 album that will not download. It is a 2.3MB song, but the download always gets stopped after 1MB is downloaded. It shows "stopped ER=.3259", then times out. How can I get this song to complete this album purchase??? It looks to be a defective file?

Icloud cannot be used to increase internal memory of ipads, otherwise nobody would buy more expensive 32, 64, 128 gigabyte versions. Hype with "movies in the cloud" is more of itunes store, keeping movies available for you in order to download on any device. That does not go against your storage in the cloud, though.
So if you go to your computer and you purchased movie ( not rented ) you can download and watch.
There is something else to pay attention to, your ipad (if I am not mistaken) is not capable to run HD movies, make sure you do buy Standard Definition, and they will take less space on ipad.

The iTunes app on your iPad is just a conduit to the iTunes Store. To play your purchases, use the iPod app or the Videos app.

Failing that, router issues have been implicated, try restarting your router.
Otherwise the easiest thing is to get a friend to download iTunesSetup.exe for you and put it on a memory stick.

The movie is from iTunes. You would think that a download from iTunes to a MacBook could be watched on an HDTV using Apple TV without any headaches bit this does not appear to be the case.
