There isn't a feature in Adobe Send for setting and end-date for a file's availability. At any time, you can Unshare the file, however.

Copy the entire iTunes folder from \Users\<User>\Music on the old drive into your music folder on the new computer.
Or see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • How can i update the itunes in my external hard drive?

When i try to update the itunes on my external hard drive, it creates a new application in my computers hard drive. How can i update the one on my external hard drive?

there's no advantage to having the application on your external drive, you should leave it in your applications folder on your internal drive. if you insist on changing the app's location, you'll always have to then copy the app by hand to the external drive

  • How to wipe out the files on Time Capsule so I can sell it

The first back up was successful, but I can't get it work ever since. The yellow light is always flashing even I follow the direction to reinstall. It's too hard for me to handle compare regular external hard drive back up. I bought a 1-TB LaCie hard drive to back up my files and have no problem so I would like to know how to securely remove my files on Time Capsule so I can sell it.
    Thanks,
    Sabrina

Open the Airport Utility --> Manual Setup --> Disks --> "Erase". Select "7-Pass Erase". That will be sufficient.

How can I see my files on Time Capsul

Do you mean Time Machine files or ordinary files.. ??
Did you copy files to the TC? It should just open in the finder as long as the TC is available and the airport utility shows it connected.
If you want to see the contents of the TM files.. open the sparsebundle and use main Time Machine icon in the dock.

  • How can I play the music on my  external hard drive with my laptop?

Look before everyone points out that this has been asked lots of times before, I wanted to state that in this particular case it might be a little bit more complicated. You see I think I've been an idiot.
I backed up all my physical music onto my external hard drive, but only the physical music. So now I have my nice new laptop and haven't got a clue how to play the music off my external hard drive, since I don't have an itunes library on my external hard drive.
Anyway any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

Am I being a plonker, but it doesn't seem as simple as that. If I try and import via itunes it seems to want me to select the individual music file not the folder which holds all the music.
Also if I simply import it, won't my mac copy the files from my external hard drive back on to my laptop? Which makes me think I change the location where all the music is stored in itunes...?
    Thanks for the help!

  • Playing media files from Time Capsule hard drive

    Hello folks,
I am using my 3TB Time Capsule to host all of my video files, most of which are MKV files. I also have an external hard drive connected to the USB port on Time Capsule and there are few video files on it as well.
I am using Time Capsule as a router sitting between the cable modem (WAN) and my locan network (LAN). I have an Argosy HV355T digital media player hooked up to my home theater and TV via HDMI. It is connected to Time Capsule via Ethernet.
On Argosy media player, I am able to connect to Time Capsule (login is successful) but I can neither see the hard drives nor their contents.
When I connect the external hard drive to the USB port on Argosy, the hard drive is recognized and files from it can be read and played. Thus I have ruled out the possibility of Argosy being unable to read Mac formats.
I try to use uPnP on Argosy to connect as uPnP client to Time Capsule, but nothing happens. I thought uPnP is turned ON by default on Time Capsule.
Why am I not able to see the Time Capsule hard drive from my media player?
What am I missing in my setup?
Do I need to install a media server device to read files from hard drives and storage, and stream to media player (Argosy)?
How are you folks using Time Capsule to play video from its hard drive on to TV?
    Thanks.

The TC has no upnp.. no Apple device does.. Apple refused to join and went off in a huff, sat in the corner and created their own.. NAT-PMP.. which as you can imagine.. doesn't work with anything else but Apple stuff.
So first issue.. no upnp but that isn't a biggie.
SMB file protocol which the rest of the world uses.. has rules which Apple also breaks.
Make sure your TC is setup with all short names. no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
On the file sharing page of the airport utility.. (you may need to use 5.6 from Mac or Windows), ensure that you set a workgroup.. generally now WORKGROUP. And make sure you turn on the guest account to full read and write permissions.
It would be good to ensure a normal windows computer can access the TC..
In windows explorer type in the address bar
\\TCname or \\TCIPaddress (where you replace with actual name or IP).
I do not know the Argosy player but I will look it up.
My hacked ATV1 can see and play files from the TC. That is running XMBC of course.

  • I am over capacity and think it's because I have Downton Abbey Season 1 saved in iTunes. How can I move the episodes to an external hard drive?

I am over capacity on my #GS iPhone and I have  a very large amount of audio space that I think might be taken up by season one of Downton Abbey. I have tried to copy and save episodes to my external hard drive but I get a message saying I "don't have permission". How can I move the six episodes out iTunes ??

EXTREMELY poor idea! Leave the apps on the internal HD. You can move files and libraries from iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, Aperture, etc.. to an external HD but leave the apps them self on the internal HD.
Did you empty the Trash after moving all that data to the EHD??

1GB? It's a miracle your Mac is running at all!
This is our resident iPhoto guru, Terence Devlin's, advice:
You can move your iPhoto Library to an external disk:
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library Folder as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • How can I play MP3 files with time capsule on a stereo set?

    Hello,
Can anyone offer ideas/suggestions how to play my mp3 files (itunes) from a Time Capsule device? I use a plain Philip 5.1dts set. I would like to be able to select music with either my iphone, ipad ir macbook.

You will need to add an Apple - AirPort Express to be able to stream your iTunes data to your amp/speaker setup.

How can I store my iPhoto library on an external hard drive rather than the iMac drive to make my computer faster?

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.

  • How can I read mail that is on my hard drive?

Whew, this is so tough that I can't even really describe what is happening.
Yet my hunch is that the solution is very easy if you know how to use a computer. (I've been using Macs/PCs for decades but am apparently clueless about certain aspects.)
I use Mac Mail in OS 10.4.
I notice that in my Admin/Library/Mail that all my mail is in various folders.
(There is no Mail folder in my name account, only in Admin. My impression is that I am the Admin and that I don't often use my name account, but I don't really know how that all works.)
I back up those folders to a remote drive.
I would look to look at some of that email again.
The email I would like to look at is in the Sent Messages.mbox folder within the POP-[my email address] folder within the Mail folder.
If I backup then delete the current "Sent Messages.mbox" folder and replace it with the folder of the same name that has old email in it that I want to look at, I have no luck.
The program keeps pointing to the current Sent mail even though it's trashed.
So that part of the program must be looking at mail that is not on my hard drive but which is on a remote email server.
How can I make Mac Mail look at a folder on the hard drive instead of on the server?
I have a vague understanding of the mail "On My Mac" vs. mail on the server, but I don't know how to control what the program is looking at. I wish I could just have it "Open" a folder that I pointed to.
I've been searching and googling about the subject for hours with no luck. I'll will keep trying.
(I previously had a question here on a related subject. I backed up the old mail and deleted unwanted mail and it still seemed to be in the Mac program. Some folks tried to help me but they suggested that I do things which were very difficult to me, just as download and compare files using a 3rd party program that is something like Spotlight to look at hidden files, I guess, but which doesn't work with 10.4. I forget the name of it. I think I must be missing something really obvious about mail stored on a hard drive versus mail stored on a server, but which is also opaquely handled on the Mac -- that is, a nonexpert might easily mishandle it. But I recently tried taking some of their advice and got nowhere and I see that the question is archived now.)
    Help?
    Thanks. -- JP

No, I don't think so. I think I gave all the specifics that I can imagine in my first post. I had email that I received and replied to in my SENT folder. I believe it came in from my POP server and went out that way, too. I backed it up on a remote drive. So there was a SENT folder on that remote drive. Now I'm trying to look at it again. Via the Mail program. I've copied that old SENT folder into my Library>Mail>POP folder where it came from. But I am only able to look at recent/new SENT mail. I want the Mail program to point to that old folder of SENT mail. I'm the only person who uses this computer. All my mail seems to end up in my Admin folder. I do have a Username folder but no mail goes there. It doesn't seem to be the folder/acc't that I use, but who knows. I just type on the computer and use it. I didn't set it up. A friend gave it to me years ago.
