How can I reassign the scroll wheel button?

Hello Apple family,
I recently bought a new mouse (Steelseries Kinzu Optical).
So far it works really well, provided you use the "exactmouse" tool by steelseries, which disables the mouse
acceleration in macosx.
I only have one question:
I use 3d render software, in which I often used the scrollwheel button to orb around the space.
Problem:
Now when I click the scrollwheel button, Mission Control appears.
And I cant seem to find any preference options to change that.
What I want is to use the scroll wheel button (or midde button?) to
behave just like a normal button that is recognized by various software
as a normal button and not as a button that triggers "mission control".
Now, I've certainly tried various software solutions, such as USB overload, Steermouse etc. etc.
Almost all of them would allow me to reassign the button in various ways, but still in every and each case
the "mission control" windows would pop up.

Mac Os X 10.7.1
Macbook Air i5 2011
Kinzu Optical Mouse by Steelseries

I'm only using the standard Apple mouse but the setting for Mission Control may need checking on your machine?

I have Adobe Acrobat 8 and I would like to be able to use the scroll wheel in my mouse to move page by page instead of the page icons in the tool bar. I recently had my computer updated from Windows XP to Windows 7 and I used to be able to do that in XP. I do a lot of moving around in documents and it's easier to move page by page if I don't have to be moving the cursor all the time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to everything else (like Office 2007 Word) to move whole pages with the scroll wheel, just Acrobat.

Hi. To remove the horizontal scrollbar you can do this:
textArea.setWrapText(true);
To remove the vertical scrollbar you can do this:

you have not mentioned where do u want the " I " information button ,
1. If u want for a report , u can get the information button on selection-screen only .
if u goto se38 on the mail screen u will find a radio button for documentaion ,
when u select it and click 'create' or 'change' , an editor will open and u can document anything there ....
2. Or specify where u want info button .

How can I restore the "Sync Now" button on iPhone 5?

How can I restore the "Sync Now" button on iPhone 5? (using iTunes 11.0.2) All software up to date and sync works by WiFi or USB if initiated from iMac. Bento syncs fine from iPhone 5. The "Sync Now" button just doesn't appear anymore. All I see is the message to connect by cable and click "Sync this phone over Wi-Fi". I have tried that and turned things off and restarted and re everythinged - no button. Syncs fine on WiFi if the computer initiates it. Wife's phone bought same day - no problem.

Turn on Wi-Fi syncing
Connect your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad to your computer and select your device.
Click Summary.
Select “Sync with this device over Wi-Fi.”
Disconnect your device from your computer.
Your device still appears in the Devices pop-up menu in iTunes unless you click the Eject button .
If you click Eject, your device is removed from the Devices pop-up menu, but Wi-Fi syncing remains turned on. Your device reappears in the Devices pop-up menu the next time you open iTunes.

How can I get the scroll bar to go to the top or bottom of the page with a right click command?

When I right click on the scroll bar nothing happens. I have to spin the mouse wheel repeatedly to get to the top or bottom of the page. I just switched from explorer. I'm used to being able to do this. It's much less time consuming and frustrating. I hope someone can help. Thanks.

You can hold down the Shift key and left-click the scroll bar to go to that position.
If you set the Boolean pref middlemouse.scrollbarPosition to "true" (default on Linux) on the about:config page then you can middle-click the scroll bar to go to that position.

Hi I was out in the world when I ran into the "No Scroll Lock" key / function on mt HP DVP Laptop. Really, HP could not add a ctrl + function key for this?
There is an easier solution than hooking an external keyboard, especially if you are not in the home/office.
USE THE WINDOWS ON SCREEN KEYBOARD! I found this on another post on the HP board. In Windows 7 you can easily find the On Screen Keyboard by pressing the windows globe on the bottom right corner that brings up your 'Start Menu" and type in "On Screen" in the search box at the bottom. You should see "On Screen Keyboard" app come up at the top. Alternately, go to Control Panel, Ease of Access, and you will see "Start On Screen Keyboard". Once enabled when you select the on screen application it comes right up. You can leave the on screen minimized at the bottom if you need to toggle Scroll Lock on and Off.
So there is a solution that does not include finding an external keyboard. But HP, this can't be a difficult thing to add to the bios, no? Like Alt + Fn Num Lock?

My firefox browser window will not stay in full screen mode, it keeps reducing itself so I can't use the scroll down button on the side, so I have to constantly minimize and maximize to get to the scroll bar, How can I stop this?

Like I said it happens every few minutes... It is annoying when you are on the internet for more than a few minutes because you constantly have to either minimize it or reduce the screen manually by hitting the button and then maximize it again to get the scroll bar to be in view to use it.

Was able to remove the scroll bars by using only the styleClass as AFStretchWidth. But there is a default partition in middle of the page still? Can i remove that too by any way.

I was dragging folders from main folders on the laptop-desktop onto the external drive icon - to copy them across....
Your suggestion sounds very promising - I didn't know about 'cloning'.
Yes the idea is to backup the laptop - I thought I would just move it all now, new - and then keep saving/dragging physically across to the new drive myself each day or two...
Would this be the sizeof the internal hard drive = c.500 gb ? = under the HD icon on desktop is written :
" 499.76gb , 311.5 gb free "
I can erase and start agin on the new external drive - so this plan is to make two partititions, rather than the one at present, and make one of them 500 gb ?
I have found CCC [carbon copy cloner] googling - looks good.
When CCC site says it backs up the hard drive - would this mean all my files [over 100 gb] that are mostly in folders on the desktop, plus the others in itunes, iphotos etc found in the HD icon, would all copy across successfully [wherever they are in the computer ] ?

How can I change the scroll rate of a control

I need the control to scroll at a faster rate than what Labview provides.
How can I change this to make the control (with up/down arrows) scroll faster without holding the shift key down and while maintianing the same increment step size.

If you really want to go above and beyond what LabVIEW gives you, you'll probably have to program it yourself. The best way to implement custom functionality for your controls is by using Event Structures. You could, for instance, hide the regular Increment/Decrement arrows for your control and replace them with custom controls that look the same. Then register for Mouse Down events and increment the control value as fast as you want in that event case. The only difficulty comes in when you need to have multiple such controls, or if you want to package them from one app to another.
If you want a completely self-contained function that does it all and doesn't require specific block diagram implementation, you probably want XControls. XControls allow you not only to change a control's appearance but also its functionality. The end result would be a reusable control that would look and behave however you want, but wouldn't require any block diagram code from the target application. XControls, I would warn you, can be a bit advanced. Your first is the hardest. After that it sinks in
XControls are available for LabVIEW 8 Professional Development System and higher.

Complex Itemrenderer (List within List), how can i disable the scroller?

Hey Folks,
so im struggeling for a while with a scrolling problem now.
I'm developing a flex application with some complex views. On of the views is like a word document view. It pulls data from the database and represents requirement specification. You can also edit the data within this "word" view. It should basicially work like microsoft word. That view works fine but i have one issue with it: Scrolling!
To realize that view i have created a complex ItemRendererClass that contains another complex ItemRenderClass. Imagine it like that>
-List of chapters (itemrenderer)
- Chapternumber + ChapterTitle
- ChapterText
- Chapterpicture
- List of data (itemrenderer)
- Requirementnumber
- RequirmeentText
- Pictures
- lots and lots of attributes
All in all I'm really happy how the "word" view&editor works but if im scrolling down and im over the second lists which represents the list of requirements i cant scroll anymore, when the mouse is out of the list item i can scroll again. What i have done is i use virtuall layout on both lists for performance reasons and the second lists height is a 100%, so the second scroller never appears. I have tried to disable the second scroller of the second lists with "this.scroller.setStyle('verticalScrollPolicy', 'off')". But nothing happens. What i want is a normal scrolling behaviour, means that it shouldnt matter where in the "wordview" the mouse is i want to scroll like it is one list and not 2 lists.
I would appreciate a hint where i should look for advice, or maybe someone i the communitiy has faced the same problem.

Should the second list ever be scrollable? If not, use a DataGroup for it instead. If is should scroll sometimes (and/or requires mouse interactions), you will need to add in some extra logic to tell it when the item renderer should capture your mouse and when it should not. You should then set mouseEnabled to false on the second list when it's determined that it should not capture your mouse (this is just one possible solution off the top of my head... but that should do the trick I think...).

How can I get the scroll bars to be more visible/contrasting?

The scroll bars are difficult for me to differentiate from their background. Can I change their colour or darkness to make them more visible?

Firefox uses the native scroll bars by default. 
You can try to select another window theme in your Linux distribution that has better scroll bar appearance or see if installing a Firefox theme helps.
