How can I receive messages on my ipad after switching my phone to android

I used to have all Apple products but decided to switch it up this time when I upgraded my phone. My hubby is still on all Apple. When I try to message him from my ipad/imessage, he will receive is on his iphone, but it will no longer let him reply. Any ideas if there is something that I need to change? I took my phone number out of iMessage on my iPad so that I can receive texts on my phone.... but sometimes it is more convenient for me to use my ipad... it also makes me wonder if any other friends who have iphone might text and I will never get it.....

If he is an iPhone user it will send a iMessage to u because that is what his phone is use to so he will have to hold his sent iMessage down and click send as text message and it should send to ur new phone hope it helps

How can i receive IMessages on my IPad?

I have IOS5, and IMessages turned on on my IPAD. What do I need to do to receive IMessages on my IPad sent to my Apple ID. Right now it is just going to my email address. I dont see an option in Settings/Messages to be received in IMessages. I see ads showing people chatting on their ipads with IMessage and cant seem to get it to work.
Also, when I try to send a message, even when I type in text, the Send button stays grayed out. Does the receiver need to be on IOS5 also?

Yes. Anyone you are trying to use iMessage with has to be running iOS5. This is due to iMessage being only available in that OS. You can, however, still use some 3rd party apps to send regular SMS messages from your iPad. This is especially easy if you simply have a SKYPE account and download that app. The only downside, however, is that there is a charge for messages sent to non-skype accounts

Interestign... not sure if the phone # will somehow evaporate off your iPad once you cutover.
No matter what though, your friends could always iMessage you at your AppleID instead of with your phone # and that would still work as long as you enabled the ID on your iPad.

I receive texts on my iPhone and would like to receive them also on my ipad as an iMessage. It has done this in the past but for some reason it is not doing so right now.

No. Natively the iPad cannot receive or send SMS even the cellular models can't do this because they can't use the Phone and text service from the cellular provider only the Internet Data connection. There are 3rd party Apps that will allow you to send SMS to phones but most require an account with an SMS Gateway Server to be able to send actual SMS messages.

There of course other messaging services, like Apple's own iMessage, and Google's Google Talk that can send messages to other users of the same service.

How can I stopMail messages on my iPad 3 from scrolling back to the top on their own?

When replying to an email message if I scroll down to read a previous message in the thread the screen keeps scrolling back to the top of my reply. I don't recall setting it up to do this. Is there some way to stop it?

It should not do that unless you tap the top of the screen for the quick scroll to the top feature.
You can try quitting the mail app completely and then restart the iPad to see if that helps.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn help - try a reset.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I am reading the AQ User's Guide, and it talks about that Topic Publisher-Subscriber model and MessageListener.
I wrote a Publisher code which creates a ADT payload and publishes. I also wrote a Subscriber which has the following
code segment:

I start the Subscriber first and waits for incoming messages from Publisher. Then in another window, I execute the
Publisher. I ASSUME that when I execute the Publisher, Subscriber should get the Topic and call
tsess.setMessageListener(topicListener). But this is not working, I am not seeing anyting in the Subscribe window.
Could you please let me know what I am doing wrong?

You are probably going to have to sign out of/turn off Messages on the phone and the iPad and then start all over again and enable messages on the phone first so that the number is accessible again to use on the iPad in Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at. You need to be able to select your phone number in there.

I can no longer receive messages on my ipad. I can see them if I send one from my iphone. I think this has happened since I downloaded i06s. I get messages on my iphone.

Every since I downlloaded the last version of iOs, I think it was 6 I can't receive messages on my iPad. I get them on the iPhone4s just fine. I sent myself a test message from my iPhone and I was able to see it on my iPad.
