How can I record a drum part for longer than 1 minute?

How can I record a drum part for the length of a normal song, say 3 or 4 minutes?

That is not an option in Settings. Why would you want the screen to stay on that much longer? All it will do is contribute to shorter battery life and the chance that if your device is stolen that someone would be able to access your data.

Besides these problems, there is the battery, which was bad got worse, she is not lasting more than 10 hours, even without using the phone.

Adobe Media Encoder CS6 hangs when "hidden" or when paused for longer than a minute

When I hide Adobe Media Encoder while it's encoding, it always hangs (ie. I can't unhide it). Also, if I pause an encode for longer than a minute, AME freezes and I have to force quit. Has this happened to anyone else and have you found a fix for this?
Mac OSX 10.9 (this issue also happened when I was on 10.8)
2 x 3.06 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon

I know OSX 10.9 Mavericks introduced a power saving feature called App Nap which is meant to slow down applications that it determins are inactive (could also happen with minimized applications). This would mostly likely be the problem if your issue only happens in OSX 10.9... but if it happens in OSX 10.8 then it I'm puzzled.
Did you check the Console for any error messages?
Anyways, try disabling App Nap for AME first...
Go to your Applications folder
Expand the Adobe Media Encoder CC folder
Right-click on "Adobe Media Encoder CC.app" and select Get Info
Add a checkmark beside "Prevent App Nap"
Restart the application
You could also do the same for other Adobe applications.

Can I purchase Creative Cloud subscriptions for longer than one year at a time?

I work in the design department of a large business, currently using Creative Suite 6 (Design Standard edition, which includes PS and AI).
I'd like to get the some of the new CC features, but my manager won't commit to a turnkey month-to-month or even annual rental of Creative Cloud apps (it's a pain for our department's purchaser to have to do orders more than once a year). That said, if they could take care of, say, two years at once, I might get the software. Is this an option? I'm one of only a few folks who use Adobe software (it's not a design business; we're just part of a small design department, and all software purchases need to go through this person, after which they're reimbursed). I'm not interested in any of the extra storage or central administration options that come with the higher priced business subscription.

I recently bought a 13" Mac Book Pro i7 dual core processor and everything was just fine until now. I have been using iMovie for about a month and it runs perfectly, but now I can't seem to use it for more than 20 minutes without iMovie crashing. Help?

My WiFi won't stay connected for longer than 5 minutes!

My problem is that my connection is okay for roughly 5 minutes and then the connection just disappears for no reason whilst Airport is still showing as connected. If I run Network Diagnostics it tells me that I have a working connection and to check if I typed the address correctly. If I then turn Airport off and then on again I will get the connection back for the same amount of time until it goes again.
And to add to the annoyance of this problem is that tomorrow my connection might be absolutely fine. But then 5 days later, out of the blue the problem can start up again. There is no consistency to this issue, its very unpredictable and a huge pain in the ***.
Any ideas? I have looked at similar solutions on this website and in regards to IP address and other things that have been mentioned I am set up correctly. I have had this problem before and it was easy to fix just by resetting the Airport box manually and then creating a new wireless network and reconnecting. But I have tried that many times now and the problem still persists. Also, all phones and the 2 other computers in my house (one iMac purchased last year and a PC) do not have this problem. This is an older iMac running OS X version 10.4.11.
Any solutions would be greatly appreciated!

The problem is still persisting intermittently. Its incredibly annoying as the connection has been fine for a couple of weeks now, but today I get home from work and it's happening again. Unfortunately your solution did not work so I have included screenshots of the Airport and TCP/IP tabs of my network preferences if that helps.
The screenshots below will appear when I click "configure", I don't have an "advanced" button or a DNS tab by the looks of it.

Deleting In/Out points in Viewer, or ctrl clicking clip and selecting "Duration" won't stretch video above 2 minutes.
How do I stretch it to 30 minutes etc. other than by replicating clips?

Help, mini cant stay on for longer than 2 minutes

Hi guys,
I bought a brand new mac mini about 3 months ago and until this morning it worked like a charm. Suddenly today while in Imovie my system shuts down (like someone just unplugged the wire from the wall). Boggled, I power it on and write it off like nothing then 10 minutes later, it shuts off again. I power it on again and this time and every time after it will only power on , go to desktop and then shut off. All within 2 minutes... Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong here?
I would greatly appreciate any help on this issue.

It has to be said that the mini is designed to control fan operation itself, and other than in extraordinary situations, does so very well. Given that your mini is less than a week old, any misbehavior such as shutting itself off or the fan not appearing to run correctly would be best dealt with by returning the system to Apple for the problem to be resolved by service or replacement. You should not, with a new system, be contemplating trying to deal with this by juggling functions that are best left to MacOS to control.

I can't upload videos longer than 15 minutes

When I go to Share > YouTube I get an error that it can't publish because the file is longer than 15 minutes.
There are YouTube accounts that allow videos longer than 15 minutes, including mine. It would be great if I could get QuickTime to let me choose Share > YouTube without getting this error.

So QuickTime has the following options for sharing in Yosemite: Mail, Messages, Airdrop, Vimeo. Facebook, Flickr. You can choose any of these. I haven't given Apple any credentials to any of the external services (not that I would know where to do that, plus I don't have a Facebook account).
Here are the "Share" options I get under Yosemite:
As far as why QuickTime is checking my account, it isn't. Like I mentioned earlier, when I choose YouTube from the sharing option, it immediately returns an error that videos longer than 15 minutes can't be uploaded to YouTube.
Your system must log in with YouTube before it can upload a file. Here is what I see when I select the "YouTube" Share Menu option under Yosemite:
If you told your system previously to "remember" your YouTube log-in info, then it shouldn't ask again. If you have never stored the log-in info, then I would normally expect a different error message here. That is what seems "fishy" here.
I'm also not seeing a PLIST file for Quicktime. Or is there a specific file I should delete?

.dmg.part is not a complete file.. It usually indicates that the entire file has not been downloaded yet. Are you sure you downloaded the entire file? (i recommend updating itunes through  > Software Update

No. Preferably one records using direct input.
Your comment It doen’t matter whether he/she is recording the audio from the macbook or any external speakers because if the room is noisy than obviously the ambient room noise will be recorded. is pretty silly really. Think about what you just wrote.

How can I record the MASTER BUS?

We use Audition to record programs for airing. I would like to record the output of the effects rack (after applying a limiter, etc). How can I record the output of the Master or other Bus?

You don't actually record it as such - you mix the master output down to a new file, which opens in Edit view where you can save it.
So in Multitrack view, that's Edit>Mix Down to New File, and select the particular option you want. So if you only want part of a session mixed, then make an appropriate time selection, and select that option.
