  • How can I record what the sound card is outputting?

I have an app. that I need to be able to capture what the
sound card is outputting.  That is I want to record anything that plays
from the sound card.  I don't want to
have to route the speaker out to the mic in.  Is there a way to
"capture" the sound as it is being played?
    Thanks
    Bob

As I understand you would like to record the sound (wave, midi, others...) generated by a third party application without a cable loop between soundcard output and any soundcard input (mic, line, aux).
Have you already tried to set the record input on the recording control panel of Windows to stereo mix and to use any standard labview vi (eg: snd read waveform) for recording?

  • How can I see what I'm actually video recording on iPad Air so that I don't include extra stuff at the borders of the image? It seems to automatically "zoom in" on the screen, but when I export the video, the picture isn't framed well.

When I try to record a video on the Ipad Air, the screen automatically "zooms in" closer than when I'm taking a photo. So I frame the interview and record it. But when I export it to post it or edit it, I discover that only the screen was zoomed in, the camera wasn't, so I have all this extra stuff around the edges of my frame.
I don't need to zoom in, but I do need to be able to see what I'm shooting--otherwise, as I'm videotaping, I'm guessing at my picture's framing. But every time I switch from photo to video mode, the screen "zooms in." How can I see what I'm actually recording?
I've been searching for an answer for this for a while, but I can't find any responses to it! Thanks.

  • How can I record an Audio Instrument (saxophone) and listen to a reference track at the same time?

How can I record an Audio Instrument, and listen to a reference track at the same time?

Are you using an external audio controller or the line-in and headphone jacks on the side of your computer? You shouldn't have an issue using headphones when you're recording through the line-in but you may want to make sure you have monitoring on and it's going to the right place.
If you're using an external audio controller, try making an aggregate device combining the controller and the "built-in output" into the same device. Go to Applications/Utilities/Audio MIDI Setup, click the "+" sign at the bottom left to make a new device and check the "use" boxes to the left of the physical devices you want to use as part of that aggregate device. That is how I use the computer's speakers or headphones to monitor my input as opposed to only being able to use the output on my audio controller.
Now that I see some of the questions on the side of this page I realize that the 13" MBPs seem to have only one combined input/output jack... That is an incredibly stupid feature. What on Earth could possibly justify that design decision? I suppose if that's the problem you're having you'll have to buy some sort of splitter (if they even make them) or get an external audio controller like an Apogee Duet or something along those lines. I would be furious if they combined those two jacks on all of the MBPs.

How can I record the audio for a radio station I'm streaming LIVE?
I don't want to record the sound in my room, but only on the sound I'm streaming

To reduce or make the room noise as low as possible (to get the best audio recording), I recommended the OP to try to record the radio live streaming audio in a silent room. Does it makes any sense to you....??
No. Preferably one records using direct input.
Your comment  It doen’t matter whether he/she is recording the audio from the macbook or any external speakers because if the room is noisy than obviously the ambient room noise will be recorded.  is pretty silly really. Think about what you just wrote.
And you do have a bad habbit in your posts of over using ???????? & !!!!!!!!!!!!!
    One is enough.

  • How can i record iphone 4 screen no j/b?

Hello. Not long ago I got interested how can i record my iphone 4 screen. I've tryed to mirror ipone to mac, but it didn't work! Then i've tryed to find an app that can do it, but the apss had bad reviews on them.
Could somebody please tell me how can i record my iphone 4 screen without jailbreak?

Correction. Reflector only works with iPhone 4s and up. The same goes for AirServer.
The device needs support for mirroring which is only available for iPad 2, iPad Retina, iPad 4, iPad mini, iPod Touch 5, iPhone 4S and iPhone 5. But from what I know, you can record your screen with UX Recorder on iPhone 4 (but only in web browsers).

  • Want to record what I'm hearing on Aux 4 when soloed

Hi, I've an effect on bus 4, that I want to record to an audio track...
I want to record what I'm hearing exactly/only when I solo bus 4
this bus has a flange effect 100% wet and is a really exaggerated flange effect...and loud too
Currently, I can only figure to put input of audiotrack as bus 4 but this for some stupid reason is not working....
all thats getting is what I'm SENDING to bus 4, a basic Closed Hat.
Now I've been talking to a guy who seems to say my problem must be my send control is to little BUT
even when I turn this full, the signal picked up/recorded to the audio track with bus 4 as input is STILL
just the originasl hat sound- no flange.
A solution to this would save me going mad here today!
p.s can't bounce unfortunetly because I dont want to dither twice at 24 bits, which also the finished track will be later
..which is a totall different topic I don't wasnt to get into
    thanks

What you want to record is not bus 4, but the Aux channel that is receiving the signal from bus 4.  Set the output of the Aux to a different bus, then use that as the input to the audio track.

  • How can i record call when i use handfree

How can i record call when i use handfree

    Define hands-free, are you using a headset/Bluetooth?
To note, Recording is not a natively supported function of the iPhone. There are laws regarding this... and in America, both parties have to be notified/in-knowledge of being recorded.
Where are you from? If outside the USA, Google Voice won't work.
Have you looked into a VoIP provider that supports what you wish to do?

  • Ive damaged the aux in port and now the volume is locked. how can i enable my internal speakers?

ive damaged the aux in port and now the volume is locked. how can i enable my internal speakers?

    rizmasterp,
Thsi not a lot of nfo to go on, nor have you included the OSX, model of you MBP. PLease post that so that anyone reading this might be able to offer some help, as well as some more info on "I've damaged my aux port.
That being said, all I can suggest is to go to system preferences>sound>output tab and see if you can select internal speakers.
With the info available all I would otherwise suggest is a pram reset:
Power off the MBP, Power back up holding option, command, P R (no commas) hold these immediatly afterpower up, contine to hold them till you hear the start chime 2 times then release. See if your speakers work.
Post the afore mentioned info and someone here might be able to offer some more help. If in fact you have physically damaged the port that might require repair from Apple r an authorized Apple service provider. (AASP)

  • How can I record multiple tracks simultaneously?

How can I record multiple tracks simultaneously?  Or rather what hardware do I need to do this?  I currently run guitars and mic into a PA and then the PA into Garageband.  But this is just one track.  I want to record the guitar as one track while simultaneously recording vocals as another track.  What hardware do you suggest - keeping it affordable?

if you want to use your two chanel PA, pan 1 channel to the left, and the other to the right, and set one GB track to Mono 1 and the other to mono 2.
if you want better quality, any two channel interface will work:

  • How can i disable the internal speakers without voiding the warranty?

The students here annoy other students trying to study, I have made an extension for the headphone so that it is mounted under the monitor, facing the front and hot glued the headphone jack to the back, but the students ripped out the extension and threw it away so that they could play very awful music and annoy everyone.
How can I disable the internal speakers on our imacs without voiding warranty? There has to be a way!
    Thanks-

Have you considered corporal punishment? One instructor I had in high school, when he had detention duty, played classical music an operas all during detention. He was quite "evil". He would have some slow "sleepy" music going for a bit, then it would throw in something to wake every one up like the 1812 Overture or something, and repeat this a few times...and have the music loud enough to prevent talking. Many detention-ees thought that was "cruel and unusual punishment." (LOL)
But to your question. Since opening the case would normally void the warranty (unless you can find a empathetic Apple technician), what I would suggest is a "sleeve". Imagine some sheet metal and form it into a rectangular tube. The tube would closely follow the shape of the iMac covering all the cable ports. Then bolt the tube and iMac to the table. (Or at the very least, bolt the tube to the iMac.) Basically, make it so that there little room between the tube and iMac, that no one could access the ports without removing the tube. You'll also need to secure the cables to the tube so that no one can just pull out the cables, yet leave enough slack to allow for removal of the tube for maintenance. Even if the metal is not a full tube, but the Mac and metal is bolted to the table in such a way as to prevent access to the ports could be sufficient deterrent. If metal is not possible, then perhaps plastic or wood.
I realize that is requires some work, and there is a drawback as pranksters could start dropping stuff inside the tube. Perhaps just have a clear plastic "wall" preventing all physical access to the Mac. Only a USB extension cable for the keyboard/mouse. Use Remote Disk sharing to mount CDs, if necessary.
    Some thoughts, anyway. Good luck!

  • How can I find what apple ID I used to register my iMac when I first booted up? I am being told that by using this ID I will be able to go on to the App store and down load iPhoto at no cost. Is this true? My iMac does not have iPhoto resident on it now

    Thanks....

Launch Keychain Access and click on Login in the left hand pane and then on Passwords.  Next do search for Apple in the search field at the top and click on Apple ID Authenicication in the list that comes up.  That will give you the ID no. and password.
