How can I recover lost work in Soundbooth 4?

While editing an MP3 file in SB4, Soundbooth crashed, and crashed hard.  First the green soundwave editing pane went blank, then I received multiple "Adobe Soundbooth has encountered a fatal error and must close" alert windows (over 100) until the computer froze and I was forced to reboot (Windows 7).
When I rebooted, the MP3 file I was editing was in its original state and all 3+ hours of editing work was lost.  This, despite the fact that I had manually saved the file multiple times as my editing progressed.  Where did all of those manual "save" operations write their data?  My expectation is that if I perform a "Save" operation while editing an Mp3 file, that all changes I made before that time are persisted to the file!   It appears this is not the case.
Is there a "secret" location that Soundbooth saves files out to where I can attempt to recover them from?  Thanks for any help

I would really like to know this as well! I just finished mastering a new mix for my website at Wedding DJ San Diego and clicked over to another app really quick, when I clicked back to Soundbooth, it blinked and disappeared completely. After reopening the app, my file is nowhere to be found!
If anyone knows how to recover the file please let us know!!!

If all your files are missing
You may have logged in as a different user, such as Guest. Open the Users & Groups pane in System Preferences. Your name should be at the top of the user list, under Current User. See also this support article.
If files are missing from one folder
Change the Finder view mode; for example, from icon view to list view, or vice versa.

How Can I Recover lost music?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:  File>Transfer Purchases

    No.
Any tracking program would have to be installed and activated before the iphone went missing.

  • How can I recover lost photos from a restore on an iPod touch 4g

Ok so I have an iPod touch 4g that I had not used for about 2 months as I have been travelling. When I tried to use it I realised that I had forgotten my passcode and as I sold the laptop that I used to use to sync my iPod to just before I went travelling I have no back ups of data and I couldn't unlock my iPod. So in the end I decided I had to restore the iPod using my sisters laptop so that I could use it again as I didnt know the passcode. However my problem is that I had lots of photos stored on my iPod that were special to me and my family, is there any way that I can retrieve these photos?
If anyone can help I would be very grateful
    thanks

  • How can I recover lost photo's?

I got back from a 2 week holiday yesterday. Throughout the trip i was taking photos on a dslr and transferring them to my ipad 2 using apples camera connection kit. In the end there were about 2000+ photos on my ipad. I plugged in my ipad to iTunes to transfer the photos and it appears that iTunes has replaced the photos on my ipad with that in my library (no photos) i quickly unplugged my ipad, checked the photos app and there are none in there, i cant find them on my mac either. I was devastated because i thought i had lost all my holiday photos, but whenever i click on the ipad tab in iTunes it says that 9.5gb of the ipads capacity is being used by photos. So they must still be there, but how do i get them onto my computer/recover them? Please help me, i'm struggling and getting pretty upset at the moment. The applecare line has closed for the day as well.

Photos imported from a digital camera, captured by the iPad 2, or saved from a recieved email or from a website with the iPad are not touched during the iTunes sync process and cannot be imported from the iPad by iTunes. These photos are included with the iPad's backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process and are stored completely separate from photos that are transferred from your computer. iTunes handles the transfer of select photos from your computer - selected under the Photos tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes, but iTunes does not handle the import of photos from the iPad's Camera Roll or from the All Imported for photos imported from a digital camera with the camera connection kit.
The files you found in the depths of your Mac are in your iPad's backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process. The backup is a SQLite database. There are some 3rd party utilities that provide for extracting select data such as photos from the backup.

  • How can I recover lost iPhone data

I recently performed a sync with Oulook. The file was corrupted and I lost all my iPhone contacts and calendar data. I am unable to repair the pst file. Can I restore my device from an old backup in iOS?

Yes, you can recover from an old backup, but it will recover everything in that backup; there's no way to selectively recover from a backup. Which is a good reason to back up daily.
If you back up to your computer connect the phone to your computer, right click on it in iTunes, and choose "restore from backup". If you back up to iCloud go to Settings/General/Reset - Erase All Content and Settings. You will then be asked if you want to restore from the iCloud backup.

  • Can we recover lost work?

A colleague and I have been working on a large project, 100 GB worth. We started on my MBP and saved it to an external Lacie HD.Then she carried on using her MB.
After trimming it down and cropping out the unwanted stuff we added transitions and themes but imovie starting acting a bit unstable. Yesterday when she opened it, it was completely blank! After almost having a fit we found everything in the trash and put it back in the timeline but it's all out of order and all the transitions, themes and cropping we did are all gone (It wasn't because it was closed without saving beforehand, by the way).
    That was many days work!
Is there any way we can find all the transitions, themses etc and have them back in the right place or are we doomed to start all over again? Also, what are the most likely reasons for this kind of thing happening?

Yes. You should be able to recover whatever you had done up to your last save. iMovie saves these prior 'saves' in the project files, but if you have saved your newest work after dragging things from the trash, you will not be able to recover the older project information because iMovie's later save overwrites it.
As per Karl Petersen, here is the way to do it:
+There's a QuickTime movie inside the project that may still be able to play your project. In iMovie HD it's inside the Cache folder of the project package, and it's called "Timeline Movie.mov". (To open the iMovie HD package, Control-click on the project icon and choose Show Package Contents.)+
+If the movie plays okay, the movie can be imported to a NEW iMovie project to rescue your work. Everything will arrive as a single clip, but everything will be there and play in the proper order.+
+It's crucial you NOT save the messed-up project right now, for that will destroy the good QuickTime movie, replacing it with a bad "empty" movie.+
As far as why it occurred, it is hard to know. Maybe the preference files got corrupted, maybe some clips did. Also, when it was on the external drive was iMovie playing and working ok? The external drive needs to be Mac-formatted for iMovie to work properly. If you recover the movie and SAVE it to a new iMovie project, you should close it, and delete iMovie's preference file: YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.imovie.plist. Drag this plist file to the trash. When you open iMovie again, a new one will be created.
Please post back if you cannot find the project quicktime movie, or if it does not work for you.

  • How can I recover lost memory capacity

I have an Iphone 5s with IOS 8.0.2 installed. Today when I was syncing my phone with my laptop, the overall capacity became 26 Gb instead of 29Gb as usual. Can anyone help recover that lost capacity?

I just checked with my phone. My phone does not show up in the Finder on my Mac, but here are the results from the phone:
    Settings/About: Capacity: 64GB/Usable: 57.1GB
Settings/Usage/Storage: 23GB used/34.1 available, which adds up again to 57.1GB, as shown in Usable Capacity.
iTunes gives me the same readings for used and free space.
So, if those numbers add up for your phone in the same way, there is nothing to worry about, no matter what the Windows Explorer says.

  • How can I recover lost images from my iPad?

I connected my mums ipad to my macbook, which had previously synced my own iPad, itunes told me I had to set her iPad up, even though it had been set up before on a PC, I clicked to set it up in the same way as my ipad, and now all the images from my mum's ipad have disappeared and all my images are on her ipad instead. What can I do to get her images back?

You cannot sync with two different iTunes libraries. It will not work and it was not designed to work that way.
If your mum still have her PC - sync her iPad with her PC again in order to restore her content. If the pictures were in the camera roll on her iPad - she will have to restore from the backup and then sync with iTunes.

  • How can i get lost work back

i do online classes and i tried to submit my work and then i lost it do to an error

What kind of work? Did you make "Real Instruments" recording? These may have survived the crash - GarageBand writes the recordings immediately to the drive, even before saving.
Ctrl-click your project and select "Show Package Contents"; then your recorded audio tracks should be visible in the "Media" folder, like in this example - a project before the first saving:
However, with software instruments and loops I see no help; these will only be written to your disk when you save the project, and thus, they will not appear in your Time Machine backup until you safe them.
