My itunes gift card got messed up and I can't read all the digits of the code. Is there another way to redeem? Barcode?

Yes go to apple support page and choose express lane.
I had this problem with two cards (I scratched a little to rough!) and they fixed in quickly.
They ask for some more codes on the cards. -

If you've forgotten your answers to your security questions then you can get them reset : If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions

Sorry, but it's quite possible that you can't. If there's an Apple Store in the country to which you want to give the gift, you can call them ask ask if they'll accept a Canadian credit card for a gift card purchase to be shipped to an address in the relative's country. If they won't, then you'd have to find an independent reseller in that country that carries iTunes gift cards who could accept your credit card, and there may be none.

I used this when accidentally scratching off some of my code
Open iTunes and go to Redeem
Enter any code and click Redeem, it will prompt you for a correct code
do the same a couple more times until a new item pops up saying "Please re-enter your code or Get Help"
The 'get help' bit is a link so click on that, you will then get to a Code Redeem Support page where you can input the serial number, providing the serial belongs to a card that has not been previously redeemed then you will get the amount credited to your account
i can't remember how long this took to credit, but i was just glad that it worked
