How can I reinstall if I purchased a download of my Adobe software?

I am considering updating from Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard to Acrobat Xi Standard and the only option is to purchase and download. My question is this; if I need to reinstall it for some reason, say I reformat my computer etc., how do I reinstall it without a disk? I have called Adobe and I have used the "chat" but no one seems to be able to answer this question.

you'll receive a serial number and a link to your acrobat standard installation file(s).  you should save both until you are certain you will never need/want to install again.
the above is all you need to know.  the following is additional info that might help you understand more thoroughly, but if it confuses you just reread the above and ignore what's below.
for all adobe software (except acrobat standard and outside of adobe cc which is a different story) when you purchase an adobe product, you get a serial number.
you then download trial software (for everything but acrobat standard) which you activate with your serial number.
software starting with cs2 is available via adobe.com or its affiliate prodesigntools.com EXCEPT the acrobat standard programs.  (but, even they may be removed in the future so it's a good idea to save those currently available install files, too.) 
the acrobat standard programs are not available as trials so those install files should always be saved for future installation(s).
