How can I reinstall iphoto for OSX 10.5.8 I had to delete the application

How can I reinstall iphoto for OSX 10.5.8 I had to delete the application, and I can't find how to reinstall

If your computer came with iLife pre-installed, then you will find iPhoto on one of your original installer discs.
If you purchased iLife then you can restore it from the iLife DVD you received.

  • How can I get iphoto for OSX 10.6.8?

    Hi all-
Running an iMac from pre-2009 (maybe 2006?) with snow leopard on it. It's the family computer so I'm rarely on it (using MBP myself) and decided to back up the hard drive and do a reboot from the snow leopard disc due to a slew of broken programs and overall snail pace. I only backed up documents (photos, .docs, .mp3s etc) because the computer was demonstrating some of the same problems my MBP was showing when it had malware a few months ago and to be on the safe side I didn't want to save any applications.
    Bad idea.
I'm unable to install iphoto at all. I broke down and decided to just purchase it from the app store but as you have probably suspected- they only sell the one compatible with 10.7< there. I tried loading from my iLife '11 discs disc is pretty scratched- could this be the problem?) but they show an error shortly into the install saying "software cannot be installed because there is not software to be installed."
    What?
I don't have the original install discs except for Install Disc 2 which doesn't do anything when inserted. I rebooted from a store bought version of snow leopard and the computer originally came with an older version (not sure which- lion? leopard? whatever was mid 2000's).
Have tried transferring iPhoto from my macbook- doesn't work. Can't find a version online. Not covered by AppleCare. Do you think they'll talk to me because I just purchased an iPhone 5 a few days ago?
If I call apple and they somehow send me a replacement disc for the original- will THAT be compatible with the snow leopard I'm now running? Can my machine even handle mountain lion if i have to upgrade and if it can will all my programs need to be repurchased? Does the upgrade have iphoto? I don't care about the rest of iLife, just iPhoto.
Thanks for any tips or suggestions of where to find help. Getting desperate at this point.
Side note- only have 1 gb memory on this machine.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Mountain Lion needs a Mid 2007 or later iMac, so if you have a supported iMac, you can upgrade to Mountain Lion. Apple won't give you another iLife DVD if you purchased it in a box, so if you don't want to upgrade to Mountain Lion, buy iLife '11 in Amazon.
Apart, you can upgrade to Mountain Lion and buy iPhoto in the App Store. The cost will be similar to buy iLife '11 in a DVD, so you'll upgrade OS X and iPhoto at the same time

  • How can i get xcode for osx snow leopard?

how can i get xcode for osx snow leopard?

I'm an experienced software developer (C, C++, Lisp, Linux, Unix, etc) but have never done any Mac development, and wanted to try some stuff on my iMac at home, but I have Snow Leopard and most of the turtorials I looked at said the first thing I had to do was download XCode and the first thing that happened when I tried to do that was it said I had to upgrade to Lion.
My iMac is running SnowLeopard.   I don't have any big reason to stay at SnowLeopard, but from stuff I've seen in the forums I can't see any big reason to upgrade to Lion.   I might eventually want to do development for IOS on an iphone or iPad, but for now I just want to do a simple tutorial app for my iMac.
I found the downloads search page, and it looks like there's two versions of Xcode  3.2.7 which has a release date of Sep 2011, and 3.2 with a release date of Jan 2012.
Which one should I download?   And if I download one of these will it be a problem if I do upgrade to Lion in a few months?

What system came preinstalled on your Mac.  Did you Mac come with any disks? If so what are their titles?

  • ¿How can I reinstall iPhoto after having it accidentally removed?

The thing is iPhoto came with my MBP when I first bought it, back then the osx was Lion. I was having trouble using my apple id to download stuff from the app store so my ex girlfriend (back then my girlfriend) used her id so that I could download free apps and stuff. that turned out to be a huge mistake because her id was instantly saved in my osx and all future apps and upgrades were made with her id. I upgraded to Mountain Lion as soon as it came out and iPhoto was working correctly until one day it no longer wanted to update, it kept me asking for my ex girlfriend's apple id password. It seems to me that the osx is still recognizing her apple id for some apps she downloaded to my computer, but why iPhoto? didn't it came with my MBP?
So I thought that iPhoto was free in the app store, since it came with my MBP, and attempted to delete the app from my computer and redownload it with my apple id (which eventually I could make work for the app store) so that I no longer had to depend on my ex girlfriends id, when it came to the surprise that it was not free. So I no longer have iPhoto and I'm needing it really bad because I bought an iPhone now and can't transfer photos to my computer via photostream.
I would really like to now:
    1. How to get back iPhoto and make it upgrade with my ID.
    2. How to eliminate all possible traces of my ex girlfriend's ID from my computer.
    Thank you before hand.

    Ok
So you need the Apple ID it was registered to or you need to purchase it
You can contact App store support using the link on the right of the App store page and see if they can help

  • How can I reinstall iphoto on new hard drive?

Original purchase came with iphoto installed.  After hard drive crash new hard drive does not have iphoto app.  Anyone have any idea how to reinstall without having to purchase?  Had to install original OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard

    reinstall from the original source
    Could be
1 - the restore disks that came with the computer - if it came with CDs and you do not know where they are then contact Apple to see if they can be replaced = probably your case
    or
2 - the iLife DVD that you purchased
    or
3 - the app store - log in under the Apple id used to purchase the software or to set up the computer - look under purchases - you might have to unhide or accept the Application first

  • How can i download indesign for osx 10.5.8 in trial version?

I have an iMac with OSX 10.5.8 and i'd like try the trial version of inDesign. Where can i find the appropriate version and how can i dawnload it? Thanks Shantam

    That's not quite true...
You can still get the CS5 trial from Download Adobe CS5 Free Trials – All Direct Links without Akamai | ProDesignTools, but at the nd of the trial period there is no way to buy a license. If you only need it for fixing an existing file, or you can finish your project in less than 30 days, then that might be an option.

  • How can I download Photoshop for OSX using Windows?

    Dear all:
Hi. I need to download Photoshop trial for OSX (in order to test the product on an iMac) but I'm using Windows so it seems the Download Manager automatically tries to download the Windows version od Photoshop instead of the OSX version. How can I change that?.
    Best Regards

CarlosNegroni you can download a Mac version by initiating a direct download.  Please see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981369 for more information on how to accomplish this.

  • How can I reinstall iPhoto?  It's crashing after a fresh install of Leopard

I ran software update and did the 10.5.1 update. The disk utility finds no problems. Created a new account and iPhoto crashes there before it finishes launching. Everything else seems to be working. Is there anyway to just reinstall iPhoto from the Leopard DVD without redoing the whole install... that takes a very long time.

    Lynn:
First try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder and try launching iPhoto again.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How can i download iphoto for ios? couldn't find it at apple store

i really need to use it for ipad and iphone

iPhoto for iOS is simply incompatible with the newest version of the operating system iOS 8. It has been replaced by the new version of "Photos.app".  If you have previously used iPhoto you can migrate your library to Photos. This is all Apple told us so far:

  • How can I reinstall Iphoto if the installation is aborted?

I just bought Iphoto 9.2.1 from Apple store and I installed it on my Mac  OS X 10.6.8. When I launch Iphoto I receive the following error message:
    Dyld Error Message:
      Library not loaded: /Library/Frameworks/NyxAudioAnalysis.framework/Versions/A/NyxAudioAnalysis
      Referenced from: /Applications/iPhoto.app/Contents/Frameworks/iLifeSlideshow.framework/Versions/ A/Frameworks/iLifeSlideshowProducer.framework/Versions/A/iLifeSlideshowProducer
      Reason: image not found
It's possible that the electric power went down during the installation but I'm not sure that it happened during the installation.
Can I download and reinstall in some way the application from Apple Store?
    Thank you

    Yes.
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • How can I reinstall Safari for Lion after I mistakenly installed Safari for Mountain Lion?

    Hi,
via Macupdate I saw the new version 6.02 and did not thought about it. So I installed it only to view that this version  would run only on a Mountain Lion system.
My 2007-MacBook is not capable to run 10.8.
So I tried to replace the new version with a Safari (6.0.1) from a TimeMachine Backup. I also tried to apply again the Mac OS X Combo Updater (10.7.5), but the installer says that it is not possibel to install it (again).
The thing is that Safrai still keeps crashing. Now I don't know what to do.
    Any help is appreciated

5.1.8 is only currently available as part of the recent
    Security Update 2013-001 (Snow Leopard)
download the latest Flash from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
and before installing, check HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ and the same folder (if it exists) in your Home/Library/ for anything named Flash... moving them to the trash.
you may also have a Flash Player icon in System Preferences - the Advanced tab has an Updates section, with a 'check now' button, which should show what you have & if it needs updating.
edit - as Baltwo said... which wasn't showing previously

    any help will be appreciated.

  • How can I store iPhoto files on an external hard drive rather than on the iMac drive

How can I store my iPhoto library on an external hard drive rather than the iMac drive to make my computer faster?

Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
