How can I remove a third party widget

I downloaded a noisy third party Homer widget (on leopard) and now can't remove it.
The finder search instructions say use f12 (but for me that is the volume control), I used f4 to open widgets but can't see anything for managing or removing widgets. The finder instructions say open with + but I can't see a plus or a manage widgets command.
Thanks.

Open up Dashboard, then click the + in the lower left corner and add the widget called "Widgets". With this widget you can manage your widgets. If you want to get completely rid of a widget you need to delete it in the Finder. Go to /Library/Widgets or ~/Library/Widgets and delete the corresponding .wdgt file from there.

  • How can I configure a third party VME board with A24 address space using a VME-MXI-2?

    Hi!
We are trying to establish communications to a Galil Motion controller with a VME interface. Galil states that they are using a A24 address scheme with A16 data space for their board.
I am confused how to configure that board in the VME chassis properly.
The base address provided by Galil is 91Fxxx, I am assuming that the lower three nibbles are the registers that I can talk to?!
How do I set the address range under the resource setting for that board?
Also, I noticed in MAX that one board shows up with a slot number unknown, one with slot #0 and this board I have set to slot #1. I assume that the unknown part is for the PCI card that makes up for the 1/2 of the PCI to VME bridge?
The VISA VIs (Register based access) returns either a bus error, an invalid offset specified or data. However, we are completely in the dark when it does return data, since the expected offset we are typing in causes one of the two errors.
Our assumption of the problem is that we do not understand how to properly configure that third party board as a resource. It has also happened that the resource manager is hanging up the PC completely. Not even CTRL-ALT-DEL works and the MXI activity LED on the NI-VME-MXI-2 board stays on during the hand up.
We would appreciate, if somebody could walk us through the configuration process, step-by-step. Specifically, please explain how to setup the base address and how the offsets relate to this on a A24 address scheme. We are completely new to the VME bus interface, so even trivial things may be unkown to us.
We have browsed NI's page and manuals for explanations, however, we could not find any answers to our questions.
We noticed a formula for an A16 board that takes the base address and adds the logical address to it plus 40hex. Do we have to do the same or something similar to the A24 board????
We also came accross an option that would allow the board (NI VME controller) to share its memory with A24 or A32 space? Do we need to enable that? What is the purpose for that?

When I did not get a response here, I had to open a ticket with support.  The short answer is that you cannot customize the SAML response when using Azure AD as an IdP.
    Response from support:
I discussed the issue with senior engineers to get action plan for this issue. After doing research Senior engineers updated me that we cannot add a custom attribute to the default
    SAML response of Azure AD.
Below is the link to get the list of available attributes
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn195587.aspx
As default SAML response from Azure AD , we have email address of the user sent out as attribute value for the Attribute " NAME ".
They suggested me to configure the application we are trying to integrate with Azure AD in such a way that it transforms the Attribute  " NAME " into " EMAIL
This was not particularly helpful in my case as I did not have any control over the 3rd party which specifically documented that they would not extract the email address from the name attribute.
    Cheers,
    Jeff

  • How can I get my third party plugins to work with PSCC?

I use third party plug-ins from two different companies and they all worked during my PSCC trail period, but now PS won't recognize any of them. I've tried re-installing them using the custom install process, but they still don't work. Tech support has been useless, and I'm getting very frustrated. Can anyone here help?

Are you saying your trial expired but you liked CC so you are now subscribing? Or are you saying you went back to CS6 or another previous version.
    What plugins are they?
Did they work on the before on that build before you tried CC?
I am just wondering if you are only allowed to use them once thats all, which in itself is a little wierd.
Usually when people have plugin issues its to do with 32 / 64 bit ones, as they don't interplay with each other. Eg you trialled a 32bit bit cc and used the 32bit plugins, but actually subscribed to 64bit cc
When you say tech support is useless, are you reffering to the plugin tech support or Adobe? Assuming you mean adobe did you try the plugin supplier?

  • How do you remove a third party software update on Lion?

A friend recently pulled an update to Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac 2.1.1.  The update version is 3.6.2.  Consequently, RDP does not work when connecting to a Windows machine remotely.
NOTE:  I realize Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac 2.1.1 is no longer supported for OSX Lion and later.  However, I use this same client successfully on a 2009 Intel MBP upgraded to Mountain Lion.  I did NOT pull this third party software update and RDP works without fail.
    Troubleshooting steps to date:
    Attempted Uninstall/reinstall of RDP.
    Failed.
My goal is to "roll back" this specific application prior to the software update without having to restore OSX.
Please help locate the specifc program files to be removed.  I'm willing to remove manually through Terminal with the right instruction.
    Thanks!

  • How do you remove a third party item from the system preference

I am running Mt Lion 10.8.5 and need to remove the Norton Antivirus that is in the system preference.
What is the trick on getting it out of there?

    Hi,
    Read All on this one.
The Disk or the Installer .dmg that you got for this should have an Uninstaller included.
On a  Disk it may be a separate item.
However sometimes it is an option choice during the Install screens.
The web site for the app should also have instructions (in rare cases the Uninstaller is on the web site)
Common "all user"  add-on Preferences Pane are stored in Had Drive Name/Library/PreferencesPanes
The ones that come in the OS are in Hard Drive Name/System/Library/PreferencePanes
Note the Path Bar displayed across both pics.  (Finder > View Menu > Show Path Bar).
You also have a User Folder version Hard Drive Name/Users/(your account name)/Library/PreferencePanes (~/Library/PreferencePanes)
You have to use the Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder and type (Copy from here and Paste there) in the Dialogue box that appears  (use the ~/Library/PreferencePanes option)
There is a good chance this one is empty.
Broadly speaking though the more complicated the processes behind a Preference Pane or app the easier and better it is to remove it with the correct Uninstaller.
    Norton is Invasive !!

  • How can I remove the Demo Viewer from my MacBook?

How can I remove the Demo Viewer from my MacBook?

    Drag it to the Trash.
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper
        2. AppDelete
        3. Automaton
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash

  • Third  party widget's not working

Third party widgets not working (Festive lights & Christmas countdown)could it be that they can't connect to the internet

Suggest checking the widgets' developer's web pages for information on compatibility.  My quick glance at the Festive Lights homepage suggests it hasn't been updated since the version produced for compatibility with Tiger.  I don't know how they work, but they may need updating for compatibility with Lion.

  • How Can i Remove installed program on my MacBook

Sombody tell me How can i remove installed Programm on my MacBook

    Depends entirely on the application.
If it was installed in the first place by dragging it's icon to the Applications folder, then dragging to the trash should be all that's needed. It may leave a .plist file, but that's not going to do any harm.
If it was installed using an Installer, then it usually means there will be support files in various places, and an uninstaller is best used to remove all the files. Often the Installer will have an uninstall option (so keep the .dmg downloads), but some apps will need you to go to the vendor's website for one (several Adobe apps fall in this category).
If no uninstaller is available, there are third-party programmes to help you find all the various files associated with an app.
AppDelete and AppZapper are two that spring to mind. These can have variable success depending on how the individual files are named, but in general do a reasonable job.

  • Adding third party widgets crashes plasma desktop

I am tryin on kde 4.11 to add third party widgets such as py-cashew and ip monitor.  But everytime I try to add the widget I either get a segmentation fault or the screen goes black for a moment before coming back.  Does anyone have similar problems, or does anyone know how I troubleshoot this problem.  I have tried to remove the .kde4 folder and start from scratch but with no success.
    Any help would be appreciated.

For now the only solution is to downgrade sip & pyqt4. kdebindings-python2 needs to be rebuilt but it doesn't build against sip 4.15:

  • How can i remove headphones mode of my ipod?

how can i remove headphones mode of my ipod?

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.
    Apple - iPod Repair price
A third-party place like the following will replace the jack for less. Google for more.

  • How to do XMLDSig using third-party JCA providers?

    Hi all,
Can anyone please let me know how to do XMLDSig using third-party JCA providers? The Sun XMLDsig documentation says that "A JSR 105 implementation SHOULD use underlying JCA engine classes, such as java.security.Signature and java.security.MessageDigest to perform cryptographic operations", but it doesn't say how to define the JCA provider programmatically. I don't want to change the Providers order in the security.properties file.
Do we need to make any changes in the JCA provider classes to work with XMLDSig and XML encrypt?
    I'd appreciate your help.

  • How can I remove parental controls? PLEASE HELP!

I just got my Mac-Mini, and sometimes when I want to do something on it, A screen with 'parental controls' pops up, and I have to enter a password, which I don't know. I've asked my parents if they did this, but they didn't! And after an hour, my Mac says: Your time is over, to add an extra hour, enter your password. How can I remove it? It's very annoying because I can't even go to Facebook, or Youtube.

The parents, if the mini were ever used officially by them and had any software
installed, bought music, updated the system, etc, would've used their Apple ID.
So, if through legitimate sources and correctly set-up, or if bought used and set
up with the new owner's information, installed new OS X, and etc, it would have
an Admin account or be accessible by the owner's Apple ID.
Before using suggested links to change an unknown Admin access password,
be sure to check, because if this unit has seen any software update, iTunes,
App Store or Mac App Store access, someone has an account and it may be
that would alter how the computer was used by them, if you change it now.
Also, to update or upgrade System software, and most online store access, does
require a valid payment card to be entered. If the parents are a party to this use,
then seems to reason, they should be in on what to change the new password to.
    Good luck & happy computing!
