Just a quick question. In some of my posts I referenced my actual website address and wanted
to ask how I can remove or modify it so it does not show up in a search. Thanks. Dan

you should have an "edit" button at the bottom of your post .... (when logged in) that will allow you to edit it... as for removing i guess the best thing to do is mark it as answered if it was answered or ask a moderator

At the bottom see terms of use you own your content and can ask for its removal but it may remain in the sites backup. The problem is your responsible to remove it and the way the site code works once an append is made to your's. Your content becomes locked and you can no longer delete it. IMO part (c) is broken....

So my 16 year old cousin just posted over 600 photos to a shared family photo album. How or why she did this, I can't imagine. I've turned off 'subscribers can post' and removed her from the shared album. If I delete them from the shared album, does that delete them from her phone as well? Did removing her from the shared folder already remove the photos from her iPhone?

As a workaround, we can use jQuery to hide or remove other posts.

I downloaded an app from the appstore and want to remove it, but it remains in the "installed" state in app store. How can I remove it from the app store's idea of what's installed?

It's a desktop app, the only kind available from the appstore, as I indicated in my original post. Also, as indicated in the original post, dragging to the trash removes it from my system, but not from the Appstore's notion of what's installed. The Appstore still thinks it's installed. That's the problem. It's a hygiene issue.

Unfortunately, you will be unable to remove any data from the phone if the screen is unresponsive but if you are looking to transfer data to your new phone, it would have needed to be saved via the cloud first. How can I remove the Guest account from the login screen?

I'm very new to the Mac world so pardon this noob question. But how can I control what user accounts are visible on the login screen on OS X? I've already went into the System Preference, User Accounts and set the Guest account to disabled. However this account is still on the logon screen when I reboot the Mac! How can I remove this account and/or make sure that my user account is the only one visible?

I'm not sure why this worked, but I found this in another post and it worked for me.
Even when the Guest Account / Access is disabled, the login option / and lock screen, still have a guest login.
This is because in Preferences/ Security & Privacy/General the bottom item is turned on.

Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS. Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term. Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default. You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder. Usually with the same name as the program or the developer. The item generally has a ".pkg" extension. Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.

Guys this is absolute rubbish feature of the login application where people's login names get recorded in the dropdown menu. Is there any more permanent way of getting rid of this annoying privacy intrusive "feature"? I would like to have a profile with a username that is not going to appear at airports and my grandma's laptop after I log out of skype and no I do not want to go digging for app files to remove my entire history on each and every machine I use as suggested by your help files.
