How can I remove users assignments on role import?

Hello,
I am importing a role that aleady exists in the portal in order to change some of it's assignments. Overwrite is also checked.
The problem is that if I want to add something to the existing role it is updating but if I want to remove something it is not. For example, I am overwriting a role which has users assigned to it and I would like to remove these assignments at the new import.
I tried importing it without user= like this:
[role]
rid= myRID
rdesc= myDesc
group= myGroups
And also with user= only, like this:
[role]
rid= myRID
user=
rdesc= myDesc
group= myGroups
Yet the users are still assigned to the role.
Of course I can manually remove the users from the role using the Identity management options but the thing is that I have more than 100 roles that I need to remove the assignments from them and I don't want to do it manually.

Hi Roy,
you are partly right. In case of content mirroring the new role would be a delta link to the old role. I assume that when you delete the old role the connection to the original objects will be broken. There is a nice comparison of copy/paste and content mirroring in the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/ed/fd25c7c14c4094a9fbb19851d79dd1/frameset.htm">SAP Library</a>.
However, keep in mind that you could always re-create the role manually.
Alternatively you could have a look into the How To Guide regarding the<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/93/28f999daa6434a845da6bf9ab5072c/frameset.htm">XML Content and Actions</a> upload. It sounds promising.
You will find the How To Guide located at service.sap.com/nw-howtoguides  => Portal, KM and Collaboration => Portal.

Martin

  • Can we give UNIQUE ACCESS FOR THE SPECIFIC FILE IN THE LIBRARY in SP2013? How can we remove users from SHARED WITH link where files are shared with users?

    Hi,
    Any help on this?
    Thanks
    srabon

    Hi srabon,
    For giving unique access for a specific file in a library, you can go to the library, and select the file , and click FILES->Shared With->ADVANCED, under PERMISSION ribbon, click ‘Stop Inheriting Permissions’, then the file will have unique permissions.
    For removing the shared users for a file, firstly, like the above steps, select the file , and click FILES->Shared With->ADVANCED , make sure the file has unique access, then select the users that you want to remove, and click Remove User Persmissions
    under PERMISSIONS ribbon.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • How can you remove User rights that were applied to a MailStore?

    Hi All,
    I've inherited an Exchange 2010 SP3 environment and I'd like to do a bit of cleanup from legacy accounts such as Blackberry, Digiscope and others that were assigned rights directly to our MailStores.
    I see that Digiscope had rights applied like this:
    http://www.lucid8.com/download/documentation/DSWebHelp/SETUP/Granting_Access_to_Exchange_2010_Production_Databases_Mailboxes.htm
    I'd like to remove the access rights and then delete the legacy accounts.
    I'm thinking the following may work, but if you have alternative ideas, I'd really like to read them.
    Remove-ADPermission –identity “Microsoft Exchange” –user MyDomain\DSAdministrators
    Remove DSAdministrators from the “Public Folder Management”
           Delete DSAdmin User Account
    Delete DSAdministrators Group
    Thank you very much for your time,
    Mr Mister

    Hi,
    I recommend you follow Rich's suggestion to check the result. If there is any updata, please feel free to post here for further research.

  • How can I remove my traded-in phone from my iCloud account?

    I sent my old iPhone back to Verizon as part of a trade-in agreement for a new phone. I followed their instructions for removing "Find my phone" from my old phone before trading it in.
    Now, when I log into iCloud I still see my old traded-in phone in addition to my current phone. How can I remove my old phone from my account? Why didn't that happen when I set my old phone to wipe all content before I traded it in?
    Thanks,
    Will

    You would think that erasing the old phone and removing it from your iCloud account would have removed it from your account settings on icloud.com but apparently that's not the case.  The only way to have done that would have been to sign out of your iCloud account first, which you obviously can't do at this point.
    Although I can't confirm this, one user said that they were told by Apple support that the old phone will automatically be removed when the old phone is signed into another iCloud account.  There's nothing else you can do at this point.

    I think the McAfee suite will do the trick when I pay them a one-time fee of $69 or $179 for a year for unlimited support.
    Your call of course but IMO a waste of money. Please read this first:
    There are many forms of ‘Malware’ that can affect a computer system, of which ‘a virus’ is but one type, ‘trojans’ another. Using the strict definition of a computer virus, no viruses that can attack OS X have so far been detected 'in the wild', i.e. in anything other than laboratory conditions. The same is not true of other forms of malware, such as Trojans. Whilst it is a fairly safe bet that your Mac has NOT been infected by a virus, it may have another security-related problem, but more likely a technical problem unrelated to any malware threat.
    You may find this User Tip on Viruses, Trojan Detection and Removal, as well as general Internet Security and Privacy, useful:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2435
    The User Tip (which you are welcome to print out and retain for future reference) seeks to offer guidance on the main security threats and how to avoid them.

  • How can I remove multiple copies of the same song from the iTunes listing?

    How can I remove multiple copies of the same song from the iTunes listing. The program seems to be picking up the same songs from, for example, my user area and my public area in the C drive

    As above, Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library, however it is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls.
    Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created.  If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin.
    Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve/merge ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.

  • How can I remove an icloud email address if i have forgotten the password?

    How can I remove an ICloud email address that's on my IPhone if I have forgotten the password?  I have tried to reset the password through Apple ID but I no longer have access to the email address and its not recognising my birthday

    If all you want is an additional email address you can create up to three 'email aliases'  - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account.
    You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.
    More information on aliases here:
    http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a490a
    If you want to keep her email separate from yours she will need to create a new Apple ID, and use it to create a new iCloud account either on a separate computer or on a separate User Account on your Mac.

  • How can I remove an icon from my desktop that doesn't want to go?

    I was unsuccessful in installing a particular program, so I thought I would just "wipe the slate clean" and try again. Unfortunately, the icon on my desktop doesn't want to go. Every time I try to move it into the TRASH, a note on the screen says, "The icon "iScrobbler" cannot be moved to the trash because it is open".
    I've turned the computer off and on again, and I've tried the DELETE button, but the icon remains on my desktop. How can I remove it?

    There can be many reasons why a file "doesn't want"
    something. But you may be able to replace the file if
    you can rename it. Follow the steps here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107426
    If that doesn't help, you may need to delete it using
    root user privileges. That's a very advanced and
    risky method so you should consult with someone who
    is experienced with that process. I have done it many
    times to delete goofed files that have a mind of
    their own.
    It didn't work, I'm sorry to say, but thanks for the idea. As to the "root user privileges" method, I wouldn't even consider it. My computer "skills" are definitely not at the level for trying anything that could be described in those terms. Still, there is hope. I found the creator of the program and sent him an e-mail message this morning.
    Finally, I'd like to thank you again for your extraordinary performance. Talk about "service above and beyond.." well, that certainly describes you. I somehow feel that if you couldn't...no, no, let's not say that, let's just hope that the program's creator will be able to help. Thanks again for what you have done.

  • How can I remove something from my iTunes download list permanently?

    Same as title: how can I remove something from my download list FOREVA! Why would I want to do this? Because it's a piece of poo free sampler from Best Buy that is effing huge, and terrible and I don't want it, ever (it's been stuck to my list since 08, and it must die). Every time I buy something I have to remember to go and remove that from my list, otherwise iTunes gets caught up downloading that thing, which is many times larger than any video/cd/app that I have ever downloaded on iTunes before. It wouldn't be as much an issue if I had a good ISP but I don't, so any non-apple employee people giving some smarmy "get better internets" advice need not apply.

    Once an item enters the download queue, the user cannot remove it. Either let it complete the download (easiest) or contact the iTunes Store customer support department through the Contact page and ask them if they'll remove the item(s) from your queue for you.

  • How can I remove iCloud from my Mac Book and iPad and Mac Book Air and then just reload back on the MB Air and iPad only?

    How can I remove iCloud from my Mac Book and iPad and Mac Book Air and then just reload back on the MB Air and iPad only, which have a different user with a separate Apple ID?

    You have quite muddied up the waters, I'm afraid. Assuming you now have a single GUID partition formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled, you should try reinstalling Lion:
    Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
    Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
    When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • How can i restrict user to access database object (procedure) or JSP

    Hi
    I have 9ias infrastructure 902, on win2k box with 9i DB.
    and I have one PL/SQL web application and another J2EE application both are hosted by 9ias 902.
    Now we are looking forward to couple both with SSO.
    I have deloyed samples of both and works fine.
    Each application have different set of users, i mean there is no common user.
    How can i restrict user not to view the web page which is not authorised to them.
    as far as i understand from the Grocery demo is pick the role (which is a string only) from OID and programaticall apply security via if else endif construct.
    can any one through light upto my concern.
    regards

    Hey Mary
    No i haven't try to do that via pl/sql....
    as the our application is j2ee app... deployed in oc4j.. with sso and ldap....
    still finding to do so....
    what i have realized that LDAP is just to store user information in inverted tree... and one have to build separated access security mechnisum that will be applicable to j2ee system....

    How can I remove icons from the Finder sidebar?  Transferred info from my Mac Pro desktop computer (using target mode) and there were folder icons on the Mac Pro Finder sidebar that are now on the MacBook Finder sidebar, even though these folders do not exist on the MacBook.  Tried to drag them off, which is the usual way to get rid of folders that the user adds to the sidebar (as opposed to those that can be added via the Customize Toolbar dropdown menu) but was unsuccessful.  I then unchecked all of the Customize Toolbar menu items and the folder icons still remained.  What else can I do?

    Did you hold the Command (Apple) key while dragging them off the sidebar? That usually makes them go *poof*.
