How can I repair the minor damage done to my HDX16 laptop case?

I own a HP HDX16-1140US laptop. I accidentally bumped the right corner against a door and the plastic piece protecting the USB port, laptop lock, and AC port came off. It looks like the repair would be pretty easy, but I want to make sure that I do the right thing and don't risk damging the case or the ports itself. Would super glue be acceptable?

Super Glue is not a good idea. I would disassemble it and see if I could not get the pieces to snap back into place. Everything is held in with snaps. Have the snap tabs been broken? if so I guess you can use Super Glue but keep it as far from any circuitry as you can. Here is the Manual:

It does not appear that any of your broken off pieces is a separate part. All are part of the base.

Well if you don't have the laptop to get the storage drive out of it, and you don't have any previous backups how do you expect to get the photo's?
PhotoBooth is just a program, it stores the files on the computers storage drive, if the computer is lost so are your photo's.
There is nothing you can do to delete or retrieve them using your new computer unless you stored them online someplace.
DId you save them online? iDisk or something else?
I don't use such services because my data is mine and not theirs to snoop through, so if your looking for that sort of help I can't assist you any.

How can I repair the Volume?

My IMac G5,(late model '04) was not working as expected. I verified the permissions, and a few were repaired. The problem continued, then I verified the disk(Tiger).
The process returned a message box with the following text: "First Aid Failed. Disk utility stopped because the following error was encountered: The underlying task reported failure on exit".
There are 2 message indicating the "Volume bit map needs minor repair" and "the 1HFS volume checked needs repair"
The clickable button that should be pressed to perform this repair is grayed out and non functional.
How can I repair this disk?

Yes, you cannot repair the Disk while booted from the same one.

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
In the future... you do not want to Repair Permissions or do any writing the the HD if it needs repair.

You can't clear the notifications unless you udate the apps. There is nothing that you can do about it - unless you delete every trace of those apps everywhere - in iTunes, your iPad, all iDevices .... and I still don't think that totally eliminates the updates. If you download an App and it is tied to your ID, the notifications will appear somewhere - maybe not on the iPad - but in iTunes at least.

How can I repair and open damaged PDF files?

I need to download every online issue of ASOS magazine, which are all PDF files, and I have already downloaded at least five to my USB stick, and they have all worked perfectly. However, there are five more issues that I have not downloaded, and I need to download them. To my frustration, every time that I download any of these files to the same USB stick, a box appears saying that the file cannot be open because it is damaged and cannot be repaired. I have followed your instructions and saved these files to my hard drive instead, but they are still damaged and do not open properly. Please tell me how I can open my files without Adobe Reader saying that they are damaged.
Steps to reproduce the bug:
I download an online issue of ASOS magazine from ASOS.com or Publitas.com; the latter is the official website for bask issues of ASOS magazine.
The file downloads as normal.
I open the file in Adobe Reader.
Result: A box appears saying that the file is damaged, and that Adobe Reader is trying to repair the file. Only a second later, another box appears, saying that the file cannot be repaired, thus not allowing me to view the file as normal.
The result that I want: No boxes appear saying that the file is damaged, and it opens as normal.

My OS is WIndows Vista with Service Pack 2. The browser that I use is Internet Explorer.
The way I download these files is quite simple:
I open any one of the webpages whose URLs I have listed.
I wait a few minutes for the software that allows the magazine to be read online to load fully. Publitas.com allows entire magazines to be viewed online, and also, among many other features, provides viewers with a search engine which allows them to search for certain words or phrases in the magazine.
Once the software has fully loaded, on the toolbar at the top of the webpage (in the case of ASOS.com, the toolbar is underneath the various toolbars and boxes found on www.asos.com) there is a button featuring the Adobe Reader logo; when you hover your mouse over the logo, it will say 'download PDF'. To download the PDF file, you first click on the logo.
The 'View Downloads- Windows Internet Explorer' window will open. The name of the PDF file, and the URL on which it was found, will both appear in the window, under the Name column. Under the Location column, it will say, 'Do you want to open or save this file?'. Under the Actions column, there will be two buttons, saying Open and Save. I click on the arrow on the save button and choose to save the PDF to my hard drive, in the Documents folder (which is currently the default folder for saving PDF files).
That is how I download a PDF.

We would like to remove the header lines and that only the item lines will be performed, we are also intrested of removing the columns: line category, Field Attribute, Change Key. The only columns we need to be performed in the file are: Document Number, Item Number, Item Description, amount, Delivery time.
Can anyone clarify how can this be done?

The primery thing under Solaris is /device tree. The entries in this
directory, so called device special files or minor nodes, are created when drivers
attached/loaded, usually in attach routine.
The device special files are created under /devices with a help of
ddi_create_minor_node. There is a way to create compatibility links
under /dev like /dev/dsk/c0t3d2s2. How to do it?
Each minor node has so called "node type" (see:
ddi_create_minor_node(9F), /usr/include/sys/sunddi.h).
Solaris has programs family (devfsadm in S8) to make links into /dev,
according "node type"
/usr/sbin/disks - makes links for "node type" = DDI_NT_BLOCK
/usr/sbin/tapes - makes links for "node type" = DDI_NT_TAPE
/usr/sbin/ports - makes links for "node type" = DDI_NT_SERIAL
/usr/sbin/audlinks - for "node type" = DDI_NT_AUDIO
/usr/sbin/devlinks - for "node type" = DDI_PSEUDO and some other types.

When you buld /dev subtree for your driver you must either to follow
they demands or create links by hand (by script).
You can also set the access rights for the device special files from
within the driver.
You can do it with a help of "add_drv". See -m key. Information from
"add_drv -m" fall into "/etc/minor_perm" and will use each time when
minor node will create.

How Can I Repair the Triangle/Exclamation Point Issue?

I have repaired and then Rebuilt my database only to have the same triangle come up while totally putting different Event dates around my photos.
This is Apple for crying out loud. This monumentally time consuming answer which doesn't work should not be coming from Apple.
How can I fix this issue once and for all?
I also have trouble dragging and dropping my Albums in the order I want them.
Both these issues are unacceptable coming from a company such as Apple that charge so much for their devices, etc.

Moving albums is a strange issue that I've not seen and many othr have not but many have
Try creating a folder and putting your albums in it - some people have foud that to help - you also can use folders to reduce the number of albums you are dealing with while organizaing - no idea what you have but as an eampe if you ha an album for every town you visited on vacation it woudl be hard to manage - if you made a vacation folder with country folders in it an then town folders in the counrty folders all of a sudden you are dealing with a much more managable set of data to organize
I have not seen a definative answer other than using folders to help
As to IPLM - almost all of the time it doess resolve things - but even then there are people who had to start over (which is not quiet as bad as it sounds - but certainly not great)
The real answer is a good backup so when there is a problem rather than cure it you can go back to a good tiem and move forward from there

I am facing the problem that I am not able to save changes made in the personal settings of the SAP standard viewer. I want to change the Colors to monochrome and I also want to change the background. Unfortunatelly these changes are not saved and I have to do that every time I am starting the viewer.
How can I save these changes?

Dear Markus,
normally the personal settings for the ECL Viewer are stored in the registry. Here the value for background color is for example stored in the following directory:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/SAP/VCT_Retained/6.1/Common/de/ImageViewUtils
Depending in the language of the operating system the key has weither the value 'en' (english) or 'de' german.
So here the personal settings should be stored or can be modified directly.

You can only restore the backup to another iOS device. Also, Apple will delete an iCloud backup after 180 days of inactivity so it won't be there forever.

How can I replace the original HP software (not OS) on laptop modified from Vista 32 to Win7 Pro 32?

Product: HP G60-235DX laptop purchased several years ago with Vista.
I finally went from Vista 32 to Windows 7 Pro 32 bit using the custom install function on a disk for use in refurbishing a computer. All went well except now when I go to the HP website for driver updates, etc. it recognizes my laptop with the Win7 OS but nothing ever comes up on the list. How can I get this to work?
Also, I would like to be able to get the HP Support software back onto this laptop so I can allow the program to run and automatically update drivers, etc.
Where can I get a copy of the Lightscribe software for the DVD/CD RW?
The original Vista recovery partition appears to exist but not sure what I can recover off of that without messing up my Windows 7 installation.
Any help would be appreciated.

How can I get the music on my iphone onto my laptop?

So, a while back, my father and I switched laptops. Since we did this, I have HIS itunes account on my laptop. He told me to uninstall itunes and reinstall it and then log into a new account that I've made. I did so, several times. Every time I open Itunes after reinstalling it, it still loads his music onto it, even after logging into my new account. The thing is, I have an Iphone that has the music that I want on my laptop, on it. What I have been TRYING to do, is sync the music on the phone, onto Itunes. For some reason, I can't seem to do this. Every time I try to do this it tells me that if I do I'll lose everything on the phone and it will upload the music on the computer onto the phone. I've been trying for SEVERAL months and I just want to get my music onto my new ANDROID phone. This is why I have switched to an adroid, from an iphone.
