How can I reset my apple id security questions, if I have not set a rescue email account?

My new iPhone says "To help ensure the security of your Apple ID we require additional information." It then asks me for the answer to my security questions. Which I can not remember. I can log into iCloud and my apple ID, but can not change my security questions. A web search indicates that I should be able to send a security email to my rescue email account. Since this option does not appear on my accounts security question screen, it looks like I never setup a rescue email. How do I reset my security questions, or setup/change my rescue email account?

I have had an Apple ID account long time ago. For some reason, Apple is now trying to assure if you're the owner of the account by asking the answers for your security questions. I had answered those questions long time ago, and I really do not remember what I had exactly written. I want to know how to reset the questions. I can access my account with no problem; I just can't update my applications in my Mac because they are requiring the answers for these questions. Many assistants have tried to help me, but they hang up the calls. I have checked everywhere through my account, and there is no link that indicates to reset the security questions. I have the same problem, they appear unable to reset them.Considering Apple rang me at home,so they have my number, contact me on my email and I have other Apple products it seems ludicrous that while I can reset my password and have done so already, they can't reset some obscure questions answered long ago and forgotten. No wonder Apple is losing market share. If it takes much longer I will sell the iPad and replace it with a Asus or Samsung tablet.

If you are trying the reset link to your rescue email account and it's not working (Apple may have been doing maintenenace) then have you tried clearing your browser's history and cache and/or trying a different browser ?
If that doesn't work either then you can try contacting iTunes Support or Apple to get them reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'

For the price point of Apple products you'd think they would not charge extra for support. I just got off the phone with support and was informed I cant recieve any help outside of this forum link which was promptly sent in response to being unable to reset Apple ID security questions. Possibly, I will have to reset my password thus resetting the security questions.

Hi, I can't reset my security questions. I no longer have access to the rescue email address that I used years ago when setting up my account. I have no Apple device, so I can't verify my account that way. I haven't purchased a single thing on my account since signing up years ago, and I really wouldn't mind forgetting the whole thing and setting up a new account, except that I just put $50 worth of gift cards on the account. So frustrating that it didn't ask the questions until purchase, so I had no idea there would be a problem. Are there any options for me? Can I transfer the money on my account to a different account? Is there another way to verify my account that I'm missing?
