How can I reset my data?

I had sync with Google turned on and due to middle intiitals, prefixes, and suffixes, I now have a disaster of an address book in iCloud. I cleaned out the duplicates in my Mac, but they dont' come out of iCloud. Is there a way for me to reset my iCloud address book?

Assuming you don't have a Time Machine backup before you lent your MacBook out, then you've a few choices.
If you want to set it back to the day you got it, then if it's Snow Leopard, use the micro USB stick that came with your Mac and after boot from it ( hold the Option key on startup) select the USB stick and when booted from it, go to Disk Utility and reformat the HD then install SL. when it's done and started in 10.6, select the install Applications from the USB stick, then your back with iLife apps etc.
If Lion, restart from the Recovery Partition as per the instructions above except you don't need anything plugged into the Mac, select Recovery and again DU erase and install Lion. once Lion is installed the iLife apps will be available to download from the App store as your MacBook will be recognised as coming with these apps.
WARNING, both these methods remove ALL user data

Quit Safari

If your iPad is running iOS 7, there is no way you're going to be able to regain access to your iPad without the password for the Apple ID used by that iPad. You cannot even restore the iPad to factory settings without the password. This is an anti-theft feature.
You will need to contact Apple and try to regain control of your Apple ID. It is entirely possible, however, for the hacker to make changes to your Apple ID that would make it difficult or impossible to do that. You need to act as quickly as possible!

You need to use the old ID and password to delete the iCloud account. After you delete the old account, you can sign in with the new ID in iCloud.

You are able to activate an old device and process an insurance claim for your iPhone 4s within 60days from the incident date. Not sure what you mean by "reset" your iCloud account, but if you want to clean up other data, just delete it from the apps on your phone that are syncing with iCloud, or from icloud.com. They will be simultaneously deleted from iCloud and any devices syncing with iCloud.
Similarly, if you delete photos from your my photo stream album, they will be deleted from your photo steam and any devices connected to your photo stream. If you want to save them first, open the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos to select them, tap Edit, tap Save to Camera Roll.

I do not have Mavericks or iOS - but the first thing I would do is reset the defaults - I'll use Mavericks as an example

Restore from the iCloud backup - assuming that you were backing up to iCloud in the first place. If you weren't using iCloud for backup - then you are out of luck.
If you were backing up to iCloud - you have to erase all contents on the iPad in Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings - before you can restore from the iCloud backup.

Is it an iTunes backup or an iCloud backup? If iTunes, connect the iPhone, right click on the name of the iPhone under the DEVICES section in iTunes. Click on Restore from Backup.
If iCloud, on the iPhone go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. When the device powers back on, you will see the original setup screens you saw when your iPhone was fresh out of the box. One of these screen asks you if you want to restore. Choose Restore from iCloud backup.

If the mistake is in your primary address and it is a me/mac address, then unfortunately you cannot change it. Otherwise:
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple, Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)

Therefore I used the normal iTunes backup and restore found under the Summary tab in iTunes. If your data is still on the other phone, back it up again with iTunes. With that kind of issue after returning from a repair where a tech was inside the computer, it should be returned to the same place for an evaluation of the problem, a diagnosis, and perhaps they need to check their work to see if something came loose while they had it apart.
The System Preferences> Displays has a panel to select settings.
You may have to try & see about a reset of System Management Controller http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 Or, if reset of NVRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379 may help. Not sure if these would do anything if there is hardware damage.
