How can I reset my outlook.mail account on ipad after loosing password

I can access my outlook mail on our macbook pro but cannot access it on my ipad using the same password. What do I do? We have not been able to use the reset password or the old password and no security codes we have been sent work either.

Let's try deleting the iCloud account from your iPad, then adding it back.
If you have any photo stream photos on your iPad, save them to your camera roll by opening your My Photo Stream alburm, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll. The force close the Mail app by double-tapping the home button, locating Mail in the list at the bottom, tap and hold Mail until it wiggles, tap to close it, then tap the home button agian.
Then to delete the iCloud account go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPad when prompted. This only deletes the account and your iPad data from your iPad, not from iCloud. Then go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in and turn on your sync settings, confirming that Mail is set to On. Your iCloud data will reappear on your iPad after a brief delay as it redownloads. Open Mail and see if your iCloud account is there now.

I don't have Hotmail, but generally, web based email accounts need to be set up within that account (in this case Hotmail) - you need to go to your Hotmail account and check if it can be set up as an IMAP or POP account with emails automatically being forwarded to Mail. What I need to know is "how" I can separate or rather create another Apple ID for my son-who is currently using "my Apple ID?" If there is a way to let him keep "all" his info on his phone (eg-contacts, music, app's, etc.) without doing a "reset?') Somehow I need to go into his phone's setting-create a new Apple ID and possibly a new password so he can still use our combined iCloud & Itunes account?
Also then letting me take back my Apple ID & password, but again allowing us (my son and I) to use the same iCloud & Itunes account? Does that make more sense??? I'm sincerely trying to get this cleared up once and for all----just need guidance from someone who has a true understanding of the whole Apple iCloud/Itunes system!

Thanks for the answer, but the external POP accounts I had in my MobileMe are working in my iCloud! I receive all the e-mails that are directed to those POP accounts, in my iCloud e-mail, since I migrated from Mobileme to iCloud. So, iCloud accepts external accounts, but i doesn't allow us to edit new configurations or to send e-mails using Pop Accounts through it. Very weird. Does anybody have a solution?

Insert your backup disc (or plug your external hd), then open Mail.
In the File menu, click *Import Mailboxes* and follow the steps for a *Mail for Mac OS X* transfer.
Navigate to your CD/DVD's or external HD's backup and hit "OK".
This should create a new "Imported" folder in Mail with all your old messages in it, that you can then rearrange as you wish, creating new mailboxes etc.

Actually, Yahoo is Imap (as is google). but the point remains - if you are using a pop account, you need to delete the mail from each device.(pop is basically a one way system). If you have an imap account, changes you make of one device are communicated to all your other devices.

My iPad is connected to my university's Wiffi. I have Internet because I can browse websites. However, I can't configure my e-mail accounts on the iPad. When I bought the ipad, I was able to configure my e-mail accounts. When I was at school using the Wiffi it worked. Until today, I couldn't download my recent e-mail. Thus, I eliminated my e-mail accounts in order to fix the problem, but now I can set the accounts because the network connection, the IMAP server is not working.

There is a difference between setting up an email account and setting up an Apple ID.
Are you trying to set up an iTunes account - that requires an Apple ID - Is that what you want to set up?
Or are you trying to configure your email account for the iPad - like gmail, AOL, Hotmail etc?
Please give clear answers or details as to exactly what you are trying to do and what you have already done. There are lots of knowledgeable people here that can help you.
