How can I reset the passcode on my iPad, if I can't remember it?

Just recently, I found out that the websites I usually access won't let my go on because I need a restriction passcode. I myself don't ever remember placing a restriction passcode. I have found many reviews about back up but sadly, my only product is a iPad 2, please help!

upgraded to ios 5, now my voice mail is asking for a password or code to unlock to get voice mail. Didn't have a passcode before upgrade, so how do I reset the passcode?

So now I went back to the screen that orginally asked me for my Apple ID and passort, and instead of entering my Apple ID i entered the email address associated with it and the new password.  It now tells me "You can't sign in because your account was disabled for security reasons.  To enable your account, reset your passwort at iforgot.apple.com"
I have now changed my password twice and it still doesn't work.
Until I get this resolved my tablet is useless.

  • HT5622 I set up a passcode that will not unlock the screen. How do I reset the passCode?

I set up a passcode that will not unlock the screen. How do I reset the passCode?

If the passcode will not unlock the screen you are entering the wrong passcode. To change or remove the passcode you can use the settings app.
Settings > General > Passcode Lock
The caveat here is that to make changes to the passcode lock you need to enter the correct passcode lock.
If you do not know your passcode you'll have to restore your iPad by connecting it to iTunes on your computer.

Connect the iOS device to your computer and try to make a backup

Then restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    To restore from backup see:

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:

  • How do I reset my passcode for my ipad mini ?

How do I reset my passcode or bypass it on my new ipad (mini)? I dont want to have to go to the Itunes store and reconfigure. ARe there any alternatives???

Assuming that you don't have a computer ...
The only alternative is to remote wipe the iPad using Find My iPhone. If you were not using iCloud, then you have to take it to anywhere where you can use a computer that is running iTunes.
If you don't have access to a computer
If you are using Find My iPhone, you can use Remote Wipe to restore your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode.

  • I've upgraded from iOS 6 to 7.0.3 and I know that i entered the corrct passcode but my iPad 4 wont accept it. How do I reset the passcode?

I can't get into my iPad since upgrading from iOS 6 to 7.0.3
I know that I've entered the correct passcode, and iOS 7 validates it as it installs, but now I'm locked out, but wasn't intially.
How do I gain acces again? I've tethered it to iTunes but can't see anything to help.
    Help please.

Restore, if iTunes will let you.  Everything except the password will be restored.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  Be forewarned that it takes a long time.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  Since you have IOS-7, read this.

  • How can I reset the sync relationship dialog so that I can sync my iphone on my new iMac?

I recently got a new iMac and have been trying to set it up.  I plugged my iphone into to sync for the first time when it prompted me about erasing everything and the 1:1 sync relationship.  I wasn't ready at that point to do that so I selected "no".  Now that I have moved everything over to the new iMac I am ready to change the sync relationship making the iMac the computer it syncs to.  Trouble is that when I plug my iphone into the iMac it already recognizes it and doesn't prompt me again about changing the sync relationship.  Is there a way to get the iMac to forget my iphone so that I can set the sync relationship to only sync from the iMac?

Just plug it in and sync it.
    It is that simple.
Not sure what you think is happening, but is is that simple.
If you want to sync with the new imac, then copy eerything from your old computer to the new one, then sync your iphone.

i habe the ipod touch 5 ios 7. i reset my passcode but i dont remeber what it is. i dont have itunes on my computer and my home button doesnt work. how do i reset my passcode or ipod?

If you can't remember your passcode, you'll have to restore it to remove the passcode, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212.
If you're running iOS 7 with Fid My iPod enabled, in order to restore it you'll have to force it into recovery mode as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808, or erased it using Find My iPhone on icloud.com if your home button isn't working (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0ef36f).

Assuming that you personally know what the old code is, do this: Settings > General > Passcode Lock (It will prompt you to type in the current code) > Change Passcode.
