How can i reset the password to my icloud account?
the only email account I have connected is my icloud one and that is where the password reset is being sent.

I just fixed the same problem. Here's what to do.
Click on the finder, then scroll across to the GO on the top menu bar, but also hold down the option or alt key while you do this.
scroll down the go menu to library and highlight library.
the library folder will open
go to the keychains folder and open it
in the keychains folder, then click and drag the blue folder that has all the letters and numbers for a title like "A2CEEE274-....."
drag this folder to the desktop
now restart your machine
when the machine restarts, you should see the keychains folder still open with a new folder in it that looks just like the one you dragged out onto the desktop
throw the one on the desktop out in the trash
You just reset the keychain folder so the new mavericks update could recognize it correctly, by the way apple customer support mentioned the reason this was happening was due to the update, and this is the standard fix. The apple keychain access pw should be your apple id or logon password.

I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
"done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

My husband was setting up the iMac he got us for Christmas. I already have a MacBook Pro. I do not know the sequence of events but I do know he wanted to use my iTunes account on the iMac so I provided passwords. Now we cannot log onto the computer using any of my passwords. He must have mistyped something. How do we log onto the computer if we can't figure out what the password is?

Reset Password
Start the computer,then press and hold down command and R keys to start into recovery partition.
When you see the Apple logo, release the keys.
Wait until OS X Utilities window shows up.
Move the mouse pointer to the menubar at the top and click "Utilities", then select "Terminal"
from the drop down.
Terminal window will appear.
Type in resetpassword and press enter on the keyboard.
Leave the Terminal window open.
Reset Password Utility window will open with Macintosh HD selected.
Select the user account from the popup menu box under “Select user account”.
Enter a new password.
Reenter the new password for the user.
Enter a hint.
Click the "Save" button.
Click in the menubar and select Restart.
Log in.

When I upgraded to Time Machine to replace my Apple Airport, I created a "guest" network as well as a main network for the family. Now I can't access the guest network, likely because I am not using the right password. I have forgotten (if I ever knew) how to edit the password requirements for a network. Any assistance would be welcome.
On your Mac.....
Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window
The settings for the Guest Network are located in the center of the window, below the settings for the "Main" network.
Edit/backspace out the password for the Guest Network and and then Verify the password again
Click Update at the lower right of the window and give the Time Capsule a full minute to restart
It might be a good idea to write down the new password that you created and keep it in a safe place. -

Placing your device into recovery (DFU) mode:

Used Migraton Assist to transfer data from old Dell PC onto new Macbook Pro. Data has come across but cannota access the User Account from the Dell. It is displayed on the desktop of the Mac but is requesting and new password. Before we can reset the password we have to put in the old password. We have put in the old password but it doesn't work and therefore we can't reset the password and get into the User Account.
How do we get around this problem so that we can access the User Account.
Although the data has transferred we cannot see our contacts transferred from Outlook into Mail. We are wondering if they are contained within our User Account, but can't find out until we can access the it?

I have just acquired an iMac desktop (about 4 years old). I want to connect to my Apple airport wireless network, but cannot remember the password.
