Did you have the phone set to backup things to the One Drive on Microsoft servers?

  • How can i enable the contact photo in message/phone?

Hi, i have a few contacts with a picture but i can't see the photo in Message or in Phone Calls, what i have to do?
I need to enable something?, thanks!!.

IF you set up a photo for a contact you should see their photo when they call you.
You won't see pictures in single imessage unless they are in a group imessage assuming those contact have been associated with a picture.

  • How can I copy my contacts on my ios to my email

I have a new email and I want all the conacts on my iCloud to be copyed in to the email
    I`m using an iPhone 4 & iPad 3 all updated to 6.1

An alternate way to transfer contacts (if the contacts you need are already on an existing device) is to use one of many apps (both free and paid are available) from the App Store. Note that you'll need to setup the same email account, accessible by/on both devices.
Search the App Store for an app called My Contacts Backup (free, and available in the US App Store, I don't know about other countries)...it's the one that I personally use for backing up my contacts both online and offline as well as archiving them on my Mac/PC). Install the app on both devices. Run the app on the iPad 2 and have it backup your contacts. It will compile them into a vCard format and allow you to email the file to yourself. On the iPhone 5s, access the email that you sent the vCard file to, find the message and tap on the vCard attachment. Follow the directions and your contacts will now be transferred to the iPhone.
You can simply reverse the procedure to copy in the other direction.
An advantage of this method is that you will have a hardcopy vCard file in your email that you can then download & archive/store anywhere, not just in some unknown location somewhere in the cloud. When you want to restore your contacts anytime in the future, email the file as an attachment to yourself, access that email from your iDevice, click on the attachment and follow the directions to import the contacts.

  • My force quit window fills the entire screen. How can I resize it? OS 10.7.5.

My force quit window fills the entire screen. How can I resize it? I have iOS 10.7.5.

    Click the "Green" button?
Or, Click and Drag the Lower-Right-Corner.
I've tried both on a Mac OS X 10.7.5 Lion system, and they both affected the Force Quit dialog box.

  • How can I resize a photo in iPhoto without cropping it?

I am taking pictures on my iphone 4s and using iphoto to edit them on macbook pro.  I need to upload these photos at a size much smaller than what i am able to take with my phone.  The only way I see to adjust the size of a photo in iphoto is to crop it.  How can I resize without cropping?
    Thank you

It's an option in the Export menu.
File -> Export and under the Size option you can choose the maximum you prefer. Export that and upload from the desktop.

  • How can I retrieve my contacts and pictures after installing iOS6 on my iphone?

How can I retrieve my contacts and pictures after installing iOS6 on my iphone? Don't call me stupid! I was relying on iCloud to have backed all this up, but turns out it didn't work. Can anyone help me get my photos back - they were of my baby daughter. Also, I've lost all my contacts. Please help.

Unfortunately no. The only way the phone backs up is if you make it back up. You either connect to iTunes and backup and sync, or you set it up for a wifi sync to iCloud. But you have to setup iCloud to start with. You have learned a hard lesson on how to make sure you import pictures on a regular basis like you would the digital camera. When things happen to the phone, this is the media that is lost the most (pictures in camera roll). After taking a number of pictures, and especially ones you consider important, you should connect the phone to the computer and import them, so there is a backup copy on the computer.
Contacts are saved in the backup as well, however they are really designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer, or backed up to iCloud or other cloud service. And, the only way to go back in time on the phone is to restore from a backup, but you also have to remember, you would lose everything on the phone that you had done since that backup, so it is a double edged sword.

  • How can I import iPhone contacts into Mac Address book

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro and am in the process of trying to dump my Windows PC.
All of my important contacts are on my iPhone. How can I get those contacts into my Mac Address Book?
The same question goes for the music (ripped from CD) and my video files that are on my iPhone? The media is not that big of a deal because I can easily transfer it from my PC to my Mac but I assume I am not the only one in the world trying to do this and that Apple would make it very easy for MSFT Windows users to easily migrate to Macs.
I must be an idiot but I don't see any option in iTunes to transfer the data from my iPhone into iTunes and/or the Address Book.
    Thanks

The iPhone's primary function is NOT a word processor or a spread sheet analyzer.
I didn't say, nor was I trying to imply ANYTHING of the sort. You should read what I provided again a little slower and in it's entirety, not taking this out of context, which you made into Apples and Oranges.
It IS an iPod, a device designed to store and play music (in addition to being a browser and a phone).
It is a phone, an iPod, and an internet device, which supports transferring iTunes content from iTunes on a single computer ONLY.
Making it difficult to transfer my legal music from my iPhone to my Mac does not make me want to go out and buy more Apple products or Apple software.
Good, then don't - no skin off my back. I couldn't care less if you want to remain a Windows sufferer. All this doesn't come from Apple. Much of it comes from those who OWN the distribution rights for content sold thru the iTunes Store.
All of Apple's commercials imply how easy the user experience is over Windows. Well, in this case, they missed the boat BIG TIME!
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but let me get this straight. You will likely need to transfer much more than just music from your Windows PC to your Mac and if so, how do you plan on accomplishing this? If you are transferring Word and Excel files, photos, and any other data, you won't be using an iPhone for this, so I don't see the big deal with transferring your iTunes library along with all other data being transferred.
I understand that the iPhone was not designed to be used as a backup. However, you allow the contacts to be merged in but not the music that I legally installed (but didn't purchase from the iTunes store).
I don't allow anything - this is a user to user help forum only.
As I provided in my first post in this thread - the sync process for contact information, calendar events, and bookmarks with an iPhone is bidirectional with the supported application on your computer. This is a sync process by definition of syncing - which is not the same for other data such as iTunes content and photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1296
Apple wants to make it difficult unless I purchased the music from iTunes.
No, Apple or really those who own the distribution rights or the copyright holders for content sold thru the iTunes Store wants to make this difficult. Content sold thru the iTunes Store is set up by Apple to be a break even - which is included with the Apple stockholder's report. Apple makes their profit via sales of the iPod and iPhone. The bulk of the iTunes Store revenue goes to those who own the distribution rights or the copyright holders for the content.
In addition, if my hard disk suffered a crash and I lost all my music it just seems stupid not to be able to pull it off my iPhone (yes, I know data should be backed up on a different drive, and mine is, but I am sure a lot of people do not back up their data).
Maintaining a backup of your data is important for this very reason, and for other reasons which is not Apple's responsibility. I believe iTunes includes an occasional warning message to backup your iTunes library (which can be turned off), and iTunes includes an option to transfer content purchased from the iTunes Store from an iPod or iPhone - since the overwhelming majority of this content includes DRM protection required by those who own the distribution rights or the copyright holders.
The iPhone was not designed as an external storage device or as a backup device - end of story. If someone chooses not to maintain a backup, they are playing Russian roulette with their data. Maintaining a backup is important regardless the platform, but even more so when running Windows with constant virus, adware, and spyware concerns.

IOS 7.1.1 doesn't show a "days to sync" parameter anywhere in SETTINGS/Mail,Contacts,Calendars/ACCOUNTS/GMAIL Account/ GMAIL Acccount Info.  There is nothing in iTunes relating to such an option either.  So, it seems I'm back to square one.
If you have a decent mail provider like Microsoft Hotmail or Outlook.com mail it does.
If you have Gmail it does not.  Quite right. Gmail is rubbish.

  • HT204150 How can I sync my contacts from icloud to my new i phone 5s??? Help

How can I sync my contacts - please help

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If they are iCloud contacts, just log into iCloud on your new phone.
You should restore from a back up of your old phone though to get things like your photos and other app data onto your new phone.
