How can I restore an n70 .nfb file to my new n73 w...

Hi, I've just had my n70 stolen but ironically my new n73 arrived the same day. I have a recent nokia file backup which I created through the nokia PC suite that came with the n70, but when I try to restore the .nfb to the n73 it doesn't even recognize that there's a backup file present. Does anyone know if I should be able to do this? If not then can anyone tell me how I can read an nfb file? I've tried the file extension changing method [to .txt and .csv] and it doesn't work. I'm stuck. Help greatly appreciated!

For the N70, Try one of the *.exe's in the zip found here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/43521346/arcphppnx.zip.html
That will 'split-out' your files (wrong file name however). This post, http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/showthread.php?s=21e5c52ae8071b90e2784b71124a7426&t=89230&pa... should outline how to identify your files, if not, google for apps that will identify/rename the extensions of files (use header/magic number values) or look into the Unix/Linux 'file' command.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Rich
P.S. The PHP script which makes up the exe above is also available in the post.

I’m pretty sure Adobe NEVER intended for someone to copy an XMP file from one photo to another outside of LR as a way to replicate settings.   You can make a preset from a photo, as discussed, or if you don’t want to do that, copy-paste the settings from a representative photo that you initially select to one or more new photos.  You could have a special LR folder that holds standard photos to copy/paste from.  Of course creating a Develop preset from the representative photo is the “normal” way to handle such situations, but maybe you have hundreds of different situations to copy settings from and don’t want to create presets for each one, but I’d argue that you could create a complex folder hierarchy for your presets and still have them findable without that much problem.
As far as the mystery about why some photos show Reset and some show From Metadata, is the Process Version (down in Camera Calibration) of the photo before reading the settings the same between the two situations?  And in general, are these virgin photos newly imported into LR or have some been modified in LR, already?  Does an XMP file already exist for any of these, where that XMP is being overwritten by your external-to-LR copying?  Or do you have auto-write-XMP enabled and your hand-copied XMP is getting overwritten by LR, automatically, before you have a chance to read in anything?

  • How can I restore my deleted trash (files)

I accidentally deleted my trash while trying to move files from trash to my documents. Is there anyway I can restore or recover these files??

    *File Recovery*
General reading on this topic - [http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/datarecovery.html]
Easiest method: If you dragged these to the trash did you empty the trash? If not simply double click on it to open it and drag the file out again.
Next easiest method: Copy the file off a backup drive.
File recovery software: Try using an application such as [Data Rescue 3|http://www.prosofteng.com/products/data_rescue.php] or [FileSalvage|http://subrosasoft.com/OSXSoftware/index.php?mainpage=product_info&productsid=1]. Both have free trial versions that let you see if the software will help before you decide to buy. You will also need a second hard drive equal to or larger in size than your first drive as a destination drive for recovered files.
It is critical that you do not use the computer or even turn it on until you have rescued your files. Files only have the directory reference to them removed when you empty the trash or otherwise delete them from a computer (unless you use secure erase, in which case they are gone forever or can only be potentially be recovered by very expensive means) and are still present on the computer. However, their space is marked as available to any other file creation done on the computer (even done by you booting the computer) and there is risk that your files will be overwritten by the computer.
There is also this free tool which supposedly runs on OSX and does recovery of popular media and Office files. http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Download I have not run it and have no idea about its functionality. It is a command line program and so is not as user friendly as Mac users might wish. [http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/27683/testdisk]

  • How can I move the permissions.sqlite file to a new folder or a subfolder?

I am using a syncing program to keep cookie exceptions on multiple computers all equivalent. Unfortunately this is causing a problem because places.sqlite changes frequently and cannot be synced while FF is running. So I want to move the permissions.sqlite file to a new folder or a subfolder so I can only sync that one folder. Is there a way to specify the location of this file?

Sorry, there is no way to move that file out of the Profile folder, or specify a different location for it, built into Firefox.
One extension that might be able to help you do that is Pike's Bookmark Backup extension. BB allows you to specify which files are backed-up and where those backup files are saved. It also has a backup interval setting, IIRC. <br />

  • How can I restore the traditional Open File view?

    Hi,
When I choose the option to open a file from within an application when using Win8.1 I am presented with a list of common places which are placed before the drives. I rarely use these pre-defined locations for storing data and would like to be
able to have the computer drives listed first. Can this be done?
I'd like to see my C, D, E and F drives listed first. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

as far as I know, you cannot change the order.
You can however select details view and fold the 'folders'. That is if the application uses Windows 8 controls. From your screenshot, that appears not to be the case.
You can remove the 'folders' from registry. This will make sure these are not displayed in explorer or any file dialogue.

  • How can I restore a corrupted PSD file (MacOs 10.7.5 - Photoshop CS6)

    Hi,
after working with a lot of layers, masks and clipping layers my file got corrupted. That happened in the past but I always found a way to fix it buy copying uncorrupted layers to a new file. Most of the time it was just one layer corrupted. But this time is big, it looks like the whole file is corrupted. Find attached how the file looks after corrupting.
It's a big piece of work where I've already spent a good amount of time. Any tip to recover the file?
    Thanks.

It's in your Time Machine. Just go back before the corruption happened and retreive it.

  • How can I restore an unsaved pages file lost upon laptop dying? Time machine not activated.

    Hi,
My laptop died and when it restarted all the documents that were open with pages, except for an essay reopened upon start up. I need to find this essay immediately. I am willing to pay for an app or some other means as long as I'm guranteed it will work? I am not that into computers and technology so I did not have time machine active as I've only really heard about it since trying to locate the file.

Until you have saved a document at least once, it exists only in memory. When your computer died, your file disappeared.
Accept it as a learning experience and a reminder to save your documents immediately on opening them for the first time. That gives your Mac a name for the document and a location to save the file.

  • How can I restore my iPod touch data to a new hard drive when the old one crashed

My computer crashed and I want to put the contents of my iPod Touch back on the new hard drive. How do I do this without accidentally Syncing and copying over my data? The vast majorioty of the music on my iPod is my own from DCs I own.

You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabilng the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Next, authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account.  In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials.
If possible, either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.  To do this, right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc.  For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases.  For all other nonpurchased iTunes content, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering different software availbable to assist you with this task.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022?start=0&tstart=0
Once the backup has been made and all other synced content such as music, videos, and photos are back in your iTunes library, restore your iPod from that backup you made earlier.  Here is more on backing up and restoring your iPod.
