How can I restore bookmarks after I pressed clear data for Firefox on Android

I have pressed clear data for Firefox in Android Application manager. On SGS4 it is Settings->Options->Application manager->Fitefox->Clear data. Can I restore my bookmarks now?

Android's Clear Data button completely deletes your Firefox settings files. I am not aware of any way to undo that unless there is an "unerase" tool for Android files as there are on desktop operating systems.
Some ways you might have made a copy of those bookmarks:
* Did you ever set up Firefox Sync and sync the bookmarks to a Firefox Account?
* Did you ever use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/android/addon/copy-profile/ Copy Profile add-on] in Firefox for Android?

You can't unlock it without losing data. It's too late for that now. You totally erase the iPad when you unlock it and you will have to start all over again. Most of your purchased content can be downloaded again.

How can I restore a previous backup in iCloud storage for my iPad?

Restoring an iCloud backup requires you to first erase your iPad.  If you have any newer data that you want to save you'll need to do that first.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the iPad and when given the option, choose Restore from iPad backup.

  • How can I restore bookmarks?

I have hundreds of bookmarks which I've acquired over a number of years, most in folders on the bookmark bar on my iMac. I use Chrome as a browser. I also have a Nexus 7 and have an app called Chromesync, to sync the bookmarks from my iMac to my other devices. I synced bookmarks via the Nexus 7 a few days ago, and when I went into the bookmarks bar on my iMac (and also on my Macbook Pro) the folders showed in the bookmarks bar but they were all empty... absolutely NO bookmarks at all.
I back up with Time Machine once a day. I also have an additional external HD which backs up once a week. How can I restore my bookmarks from either of those backups?
    Thanks.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I do have Time Machine backups and also a clone of my iMac HD on an external HD. I just don't know how to restore from them.
    Thanks.

  • How can I restore bookmarks to Safari?

I accidentally synced my wife's MB Air to my iCloud account and wiped out her Safari bookmarks and her contacts. How can I restore them? Her machine is backed up with Time Machine so I imagine I can use library files/plist to restore, but don't know which file to use, etc.
    Thanks,

so I imagine I can use library files/plist to restore, but don't know which file to use
    You're on the right track...

The file you need is Bookmarks.plist located in ~/LIbrary/Safari

  • How can you sort bookmarks in the Sidebar by date added? Works in Library but does not carry over to Sidebar.

When opening the Bookmarks Sidebar, the oldest bookmarks added are at the very top, easily visible.
The most recent bookmarks added are at the bottom, requiring me to scroll all the way down every time I want to visit a recent bookmark. This is a major nuisance. I'm actually a little shocked that this happens when it's such an obvious hassle.
How can I flip the list of bookmarks so the newest ones are right at the top where I can easily access them?
Sorting in the Library does not carry over to the Sidebar as far as I can tell.

Looks as though the SortPlaces add-on should be able to do it.

  • How can I sort bookmarks within a folder by date such that this is apllied not only in the library but also on the toolbar?

    Hello,
I have several folders on my firefox toolbar which I use to sort new bookmarks by topic. If I add a new bookmark to a folder it is alwas placed at the bottom (below existing bookmarks) which is somewhat annoying with a increasing number of bookmarks. I would like to have the bookmarks recently added at the top of the folder (above existing bookmarks).
It's no problem to sort them this way within the library. But back at the toolbar everthing remains the same. The only option that seems to work here ist 'sort by name'.
Is there any way to sort the bookmarks by 'date added' such that new bookmarks are placed on top and this is applied also outside the library?
I hope you get my problem!
    Thanks!

I do not think there is a way to do that without add-ons
There are a couple of workarounds I am aware of
    * Add the bookmarks manually in the bookmarks library and choose the position. That is using Show all bookmarks -> open required folder -> select a position and right click -> add new bookmark <br />Rather a slow and clumsy process
    * Sort a folder and copy it. If you sort the folder contents then copy and paste them they remain in that order when pasted.
There are add-ons but I have not tried them. For example
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/simplesort-bookmarks/
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/auto-sort-bookmarks/
There will be others available and take note of the advice to backup bookmarks manaully.

  • How can I recover bookmarks and files that were lost when Firefox updated?

This morning, there was a message that firefox needed to be updated. Since I don't like (or use) Google Chrome or IE, I unchecked those options as part of the update. Once the update was completed, all of my bookmarks and folders were gone. Is there ANY way to either recover the missing items OR restore/roll back to the firefox browser I was already using?

Hi, first open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup >Restore, and see if you have a backup there.
If not, please see - [[Profiles - Where Firefox stores your bookmarks, passwords and other user data]], and [[Recovering important data from an old profile]].
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

  • How can I restore bookmarks from a now dead computer to a new computer? I cannot access the bookmark library as directed in the restore article.

My old computer died. I got a new computer 2 weeks ago. I tried using the restore from backup function as described in the Mozilla help article. However, when I click on the bookmark icon, it only shows menus, not the library as described in the article. How do I access the backup function so I can move my old bookmarks to my new machine?

Thank you, it worked well, once I looked for the files to match.
    Thank you for your help.

  • Lion Server: How can I restore OD after a crash ?

    Hello all,
the issue is not new but I found no way how to repair the OD database. I admit I am no expert and I rely upon senior advice.
I ran the restore command as described here to no avail:
    http://www.prestonlee.com/2009/07/08/recovering-a-corrupt-openldap-database-on-o sx-server/
    What happened ?
After a Finder crash we had to re-boot our Lion Server (10.7.5) with the power button and after that the Network Accounts were all gone because OD's LDAP, Kerberos and Password Server were no longer running.
I re-stored the server from a TM back-up just the day before and I got back the network accounts but this is probably just a last resort.
What is the quickest way to restore OD services in Lion Server ?
    Thanks for your help,
    Twistan
    P.S.
The TM restore from the previous day's backup did NOT RESTORE the following:
    1) calendars of network accounts
    2) Enrolled devices (profile manager)
I shall post these experiences in a separate thread.

If you originally bought the iWork apps through the Mac App Store (doubtful based on your profile) you can reinstall from the Mac App Store using your Apple ID. The Mac App Store does require at least Mac OS 10.6.6.
If you originally installed from a retail boxed DVD, use that DVD to reinstall.
If you downloaded the trial & bought a serial number electronically, you can redownload the trial & apply the serial number you were given. If you do not have the e-mail with the serial number you can get the serial number from the list of online purchases in your Apple Store account. You do not need a new serial number from Apple. Go to the Store tab at the top of this page, click Account (small, faint gray word next to the cart icon in the upper right), click on Downloadable Software Purchases & sign in.

  • How can I retreve bookmarks after uninstalling firefox

My husband uninstalled firefox due to it crashing. In the process it looks like all my years and years worth of bookmarks have gone. He installed the latest version of firefox which is working fine. But I cant find/import any old bookmarks. I didn't back them up, but from what I have read firefox does back them up automatically. Please help me. I will be lost without them. I have done a system restore but it didn't help.
    Many thanks
    Sonja

Thank you very very much. He had deleted all data! I had not heard of that software before. So I downloaded the free version, ran it, searched for bookmark and the JSON file appeared. I recovered it and restored it very very simply.
I really can not thank you enough for providing this very useful information. You have made my day :)

  • Where can I find bookmarks after backing up computer files for a system restore?

My computer crashed but I was able to run a backup of my computer files to an external hard drive. Then I restored my computer to it's factory settings and had to reinstall Firefox. Now I'm going through my backup on the external hard drive and have found my pictures, internet explorer bookmarks, etc. but can't find my Firefox bookmarks. Where would they be located/what could I search for to find them?
    I'm using Windows 7.

  • How can i restore memory after deleting all photos on my iPad 8.1.2

    iPad 4
    8.1.2
    Photos; not iPhoto app
Under GENERAL I cannot restore my capacity memory after deleting all my photos from the iPad.
I do not store photos in the Cloud. I do not use Photo Stream
I have reset my iPad as well as checked in Image Capture for possible photos still there.
I have also deleted last 30 days of photos.

In iOS 8.1.2 photos that are deleted from the Camera Roll are moved to the Recently Deleted album. They remain there for 30 days unless you delete them again from that album. The Recently Deleted album was created because so many people complained that they deleted photos and wanted them back. The Recently Deleted album gives people 30 days to change their mind about deleting photos. For the rest of us, it's kind of a pan to have to delete the photos twice to free up the storage space.
Oh, and there is no longer an iPhoto that works on iOS devices running iOS 8.1.2.

  • How can I restore bookmarks from a hard drive?

I had a hard drive problem and could not run windows in the hard drive.I was able to copy the drive to another drive.
Now what I would like to do would be to find a file that has the bookmarks on that drive at included on the new hard drive.
    Can this be done?
We would I find the files?

The bookmarks, along with the history is stored in a file called places.sqlite inside the profile folder. In Windows 7 the default location for the profile folder is:
    C:\Users\<Windows user name>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile folder>
The profile folder name will typically be xxxxxxxx.default, where xxxxxxxx is a random set of characters. The profile folder is normally hidden, to display it see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
With Firefox closed you can copy the places.sqlite file from this location into your current profile folder. You can recover more than just the bookmarks, for details see [[Recovering important data from an old profile]].

  • How can i restore files after i've emptied the trash bin?

I accidently deleted some photos and also emptied the trash bin. I also haven't backed up my computer in a while. (unfortunately).
Is there any way I can restore the photos?

You'll have to stop using the boot volume so you don't write to it and create and boot from a external boot drive, then install Data Rescue on that to run against the internal drive to recover files.
If you write to the boot drive, even surfing the web does that, you can overwrite your deleted data.
Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
If that is too much for you, you can use the local PC/Mac software repair shops, they do data recovery in the hundreds of dollars range.
The "four figures" data recovery is really only needed if the drive is mechanically dead and it has to be dissected.
