I faced some error while trying to sync new songs in my ipod , so i did format the ipod from the windows 7 system , then itunts couldn't recognize it when it's plugged , and re-plugging the ipod many times didn't work ... so the situation now is my ipod is not recognized by itunes , and i only see message recommending restoring to factory settings , while itunes is always failing to connect to apple server (known that my connectivity is perfect) , and restoring the settings from my ipod doesn't seem to work .

Using Windows 7 and installing latest iTunes is very problematic, please read these iTunes posts, which describe a few correct steps to reinstall iTunes 10.5 if it is not working correctly.

My 4S was working fine until I upgraded to 5.01. Even the battery was working well. I used the phone for 4 days before I had to charge it. The use was a combination of standby, email, facebook, SMS, MMS and photo. After the upgrade to 5.01, the battery goes form 100% to 0% in 8 hours just on standby. The settings are the same.

Since you deleted/format all original partitions, you will need to use the HP Recovery Media you created when you first setup your computer to return your computer to a factory like state. If you didn't create this media, please contact official HP support in your region / country, via the HP Worldwide Support Portal, to see if HP Recovery Media is available for your computer.

You need to be updated to iTunes 11.2.2.
You might want to consider running the combo updater over your install to refresh your files.

After running the combo updater, select Software Updater and update iTunes.
If iTunes fails to open after updating, hold down the Option key when launching iTunes. It will ask you to locate your iTunes Library.
Note: I've seen users with their iTunes Library on an external drive spin like this when the drive was failed to be seen in Disk Utility. Run Repair Drive on the external drive to fix this issue.

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. Thanks, but unfortunately for me the Polar H7 does not have any buttons or anything that can actively affect the pairing, it is manifest just a transmitter. Pairing can apparently only be done by finding the Polar H7 in the unit that you want to pair with (my 4s) and after my delete of the device, my iPhone 4s does not retrieve it as a Bluetooth device.

Did you ever get an answer on this? I'm trying to get photos back on the iPhone as well, and the best route i can come up with is to let iTunes "sync" photos, and manually recreating albums on the computer to try to add to the phone. It didn't seem to work on the first try, but after powering down the phone and rebooting it seems to be working so far. Very time intensive though, to find the desired pictures in iPhoto then "reveal in finder" and copy to the "Pictures" folder.

There are no "shortcuts" on the iPhone so I'm guessing you mean you've mislaid the Contacts app. By default, it's in the Utilities folder. If it's not there, look in all the other folders and home screens. Once you find it, you can move it anyhere you want by tapping and holding it until it wiggles, that dragging it to your preferred location.
If you want to reset all of your icons back to the default layout, Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. After you do that, it will be once again in the Utilities folder.
Note: You can also access Contacts through the Phone app.
