How can I save apple-formatted tunes & then switch to microsoft-based softw

I received an IPod (30 GB) with 6,000 tunes formatted for apple, but I use windows. I have to reformat, but if I, I realize I will lose the existing library of songs that I want to keep. Is there any way I can do this without losing the current downloaded library?

If you still have access to the Mac iTunes library those songs came from then you can format the iPod on the Windows machine, then plug the iPod back into the Mac, which can read Windows formatted iPods, then you can put the stuff from the Mac machine to the Windows formatted iPod.

I will address your second question.
First, make sure your iPhone and iPad have absolutely identical Apple IDs. If they do, use that Apple ID in Settings > iCloud on your iPhone to select the "Notes" option. Lo and behold, all your iCloud notes should appear on your iPhone.

Hi,
If your data is in an array, the easiest way is to use the ArrayToFile function.
It automatically creates a file and puts your data in it according to the format you provide.
If you have individual samples that you need to write once in a while, you can either collect them into an array and then use ArrayToFile or open a file with fopen and write them as they are acquired with fwrite.

It sounds like the iPod's storage has data corruption. You may be able to treat it like an external drive and use data recovery software on it, but it probably won't work because the system is telling you that the drive needs to be formatted before it is recognized.
If the problem is data corruption and there is no hardware-related problem on the iPod's hard drive, a Restore should fix the problem. But this will obviously erase the iPod's hard drive.

As long as you don't have code in your animation then just hit File->Export->Export Movie, then configure the options.
Here's an article on exporting sound, images and video. Just skip on down to exporting AVI and it explains the process. The codec is in the Video Compression section. When you click Settings for Video Compression, the codec is in the drop-down at the top. There's various kinds but to get lossless quality AVI you'll have to choose Uncompressed / None for full quality. Again, the file will be huge and you'll need to use another program (like Adobe Media Encoder) or Microsoft Windows Media Encoder, etc, depending on what format you intend to compress it ultimately.

Please clarify what you mean by "resetting" the phone. When you reset the phone, no data is deleted. Do you actually mean Restore the phone? See the User Guide, Appendix B for the correct terminology,

To address the first part of your response; as unnecessary as it was; save as has not been gone for years!! It is predicated on the operating system in play on ones computer. The software that I was using as recent as six months ago had a "Save as" option in the menu bar. Further, as you may have noted in "babowa's response it is clear that it still exists to this day in apple's most recent software "Yosemite 10.10.2. This appears to be true whether talking about numbers or pages (apps.) Oh, and by the way I am employing the most recent versions offered by Apple! Your car may be five years old but I am sure you still find it very useful. Case and point; it's not gone!!!

I'm trying to send home movies to my 10 year old nephew who lives across the country. He doesn't have a computer. He has an iPod touch. His parents have computers. The easiest and most efficient way to copy your music is to follow the steps under the External drive section. Make sure that you have organized the iTunes library first before you copy it over. Then put the copied iTunes folder in the same Music folder on your computer.

How can I save text messages to my Mac and will that reduce "Other" in storage?

I have hundreds (or more) of text messages on my iPhone 5 that for personal reasons, I want to save. There are far too many to do screenshots. I want to save them to my MacBook Pro Retina in a readable and printable format. The reason is that I read that text messages can cause the "Other" storage to be higher. My "Other" is over 6 GB on a 16 GB iphone. Therefore I want to save texts, print them, and delete from phone.
First question: Is it true that text messages contribute to the size of "Other"?
Second question: How can I save texts to Mac in readable format so they could be printed?
Third question: How in the world do I delete all these texts from my iPhone efficiently? Is there a way to "mass delete"?

(a) I've had an iPhone since a 3G in 2009, and the texts I want to save have been accumulating since then.
(b) My "Other" has gradually gotten larger over the years.
(c) I sync with itunes regularly.
(d) I've never had any problems with an iphone or with my data.
(e) I've restored from backup only three times, when I upgraded to the iphone 4, 4S, and 5.
I want to get this "Other" cleared up before I upgrade to the iphone 5S.

You can select to export a folder to save as a .mbox file. This file would need to be imported if you wanted to view the messages.
Select mailbox (folder)
Under Mailbox in the Menu bar select Export Mailbox...

Is it only Mail that is slow? How much free space on your drive? Use Disk Utility to find available space.
