How can i save copies of mail messages on pc?

Whenever possible I work at home on my Imac, using OSX 10.5.1. My work is university related, and am expected to save copies of all sent and received email on the university pc. I deal with hundreds of messages each week, and need to find a way of working from my Imac but saving all messages so they can be searched through on both systems. I've experimented with automatic bcc, with setting up rules, and even forwarding each mail individually, but nothing works properly. I do need to see the name, address and subject line displayed clearly without having to open each message. Is there a way of backing up a mailbox somehow, so the messages can be easily read on a pc? I do hope someone can help, as I'm getting thousands of these emails building up and I'm in a real muddle. Thanks for helping.
Amabel

I'm having this problem with an iPhone 5/iOS 7 on Verizon. When I tap Edit and then the "-" button next to the VM I want to delete, I get the Delete button on the right side, but from there everything gets hung up. It takes several taps and/or requires moving out of Voicemail function (to Contacts, for example) and then back in to Voicemail to make the selected VM go away.
I had to hit clear all before I went to bed for about 4 nights in a row to finally get all the "deleted" voicemails to wipe out on my 4s.
after that, I still couldn't delete current voicemails, as they'd come right back 1 sec later.
I ended up getting a 5s and retrieve deleted voicemails of iPhone to the new 5s and the problem went away.

It's pretty impossible to figure out what you're really trying to do ...
If you're literally trying to save an e-mail to your documents folder (which I doubt), then you can open the e-mail, do a File > Save As ... from Mail's menu and do it from there.
    Good luck.

My apps show up, but I can't get everything tansferred over. I have to save my old text messages for legal reasons as I am going through a divorce.

You should be able to simply back up your iPhone via iTunes and that will automatically save your iPhone text messages to your computer. If for some reason you also want to export them or print them from your PC there a various programs that will let you do that. Here's a MacWorld article with a few tips.

  • How can I save my e-mails?

My accumulated e-mail list is so long that I think it having an effect on the Thunderbird performance, and there are many of the e-mails that I wish to save.
Can you advise me how I can save e-mails that I will be able to refer to at a later date?
    Thanks,
    Dennis A

[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Local_Folders This documentation about Local Folders in Thunderbird] should help.
I was referring to storing your messages directly in Local Folders by specifying them as default location (under Account Settings > Copies and Folders) or setting up rules and filters if this is desired only for some messages. This can even be specified on a per-identity basis.

  • Upgrading To SL By Erase And Install. How Can I Save All My Mail Accounts?

I am thinking about erasing my HD and installing Snow Leopard.
This will destroy all my Mail accounts and it takes ages to reinstall them as each one has to send off and receive info back from my ISP which can take 5 or more minutes.
Is there something I can save to put back in SL that will allow me to continue using all my accounts instantly with no reconfiguring?

Thank you. I had completely forgotten about TM ....... even though I only started using it 3 days ago!
However, I have a friend with an early Intel iMac who is running Tiger and intends to upgrade to Snow Leopard.
I assume he may be using an older version of Mail and of course he hasn't got TM.
What precautions should he take or will he just have to reconfigure his accounts?

  • How can I see the entire mail message without making it smaller font and not having to scroll to the right?

when i open a message in hotmail i have to scroll to the right to see the entire sentence. I did not have to do this before what has changed? Me or you?

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.
    *Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
    *NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/
If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a high value can cause such issues.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

  • How can I know if my mail message had been opened

I sent an important message and assumed it was opened and viewed but had no way of knowing.  This guy seldom responds but the work usually gets done.  Recently it did not and he states he never got the message that I still have in my sent box.  It's too important not to know if he see's it or not.  Any ideas?

There's no way to know your mails are opened or not.

  • How can I save text messages to my Mac and will that reduce "Other" in storage?

I have hundreds (or more) of text messages on my iPhone 5 that for personal reasons, I want to save. There are far too many to do screenshots. I want to save them to my MacBook Pro Retina in a readable and printable format. The reason is that I read that text messages can cause the "Other" storage to be higher. My "Other" is over 6 GB on a 16 GB iphone. Therefore I want to save texts, print them, and delete from phone.
First question: Is it true that text messages contribute to the size of "Other"?
Second question: How can I save texts to Mac in readable format so they could be printed?
Third question: How in the world do I delete all these texts from my iPhone efficiently? Is there a way to "mass delete"?
When you are answering this, perhaps it is noteworthy that:
    (a) I've had an iPhone since a 3G in 2009, and the texts I want to save have been accumulating since then.
    (b) My "Other" has gradually gotten larger over the years.
    (c)  I sync with itunes regularly.
    (d) I've never had any problems with an iphone or with my data.
    (e) I've restored from backup only three times, when I upgraded to the iphone 4, 4S, and 5.
I want to get this "Other" cleared up before I upgrade to the iphone 5S.
    Thank you.

You can select to export a folder to save as a .mbox file. This file would need to be imported if you wanted to view the messages.
    Select mailbox (folder)
Under Mailbox in the Menu bar select Export Mailbox...
You might also want to check out the demo for EagleFiler by the author for SpamSieve. You could view and search the messages archived in EagleFiler.

    Regarding Mail being slow....
Is it only Mail that is slow?  How much free space on your drive? Use Disk Utility to find available space.

  • How can i restore my e-mails (especially a saved message file) after i uninstall and reinstall

I have picked up some kind of bug in my e-mail program. I have used malwarebyte and Norton and I think it is cleared up. the problem is that I now cannot send e-mails. Comcast tells me the problem is in thunderbird and I should uninstall and reinstall. I have a "saved message file" I do not want to lose. where is this file and how can I save it. thanks.

Please tell comcast from me that they are idiots.
The suggestion to uninstall and reinstall is about as likely to fix your issue as dropping the device in the bath.
So lets look at this. I assume you get some sort of error message, what is it? Exactly please.
Personally I would be putting money on Nortons being the issue as it has a very long standing habit of making mail sending and receiving difficult.
Check in the Nortons firewall that Thunderbird has full access to the internet. Automatic is not enough. Then disable all email scanning ion Nortons, reboot your computer and try sending again. Any better? A new error message?

  • How can i link my E-mail with my iPad in a way that i can delete my messages from my email inbox server not from my iPad inbox only?

How can i link my E-mail with my iPad in a way that i can delete my messages from my email inbox server also not from my iPad inbox only?
Because when i delete emails from my iPad inbox, it will be deleted on my iPad only but when i check my email inbox server from the browser its not deleted!
So how can i set up this link so when i delete any email from my iPad it will be deleted from my email inbox server also?

    Hi Pierrot10,
Insert your backup disc (or plug your external hd), then open Mail.
In the File menu, click *Import Mailboxes* and follow the steps for a *Mail for Mac OS X* transfer.
Navigate to your CD/DVD's or external HD's backup and hit "OK".
This should create a new "Imported" folder in Mail with all your old messages in it, that you can then rearrange as you wish, creating new mailboxes etc.

  • How can I save a page and all its component parts in a single file, like IE does as an MHT - it's much easier for mailing to people where page address not available?? (as in output from an airline booking site, for example)

how can I save a page and all its component parts in a single file, like IE does as an MHT?
It's much easier for mailing to people where page address not available?? (as in output from an airline booking site, for example)
It is simply too painful to have to zip everything up into a single file to send. MHT format has been available for years now from IE, and with every new FF release it's the first thing I look for. I have been using FF for years, and hate having to come out of it, over into IE |(which I even took out of startup) and key everything in again, in order to send somebody something in a convenient format that they can open with a single click.
I can't believe this hasn't been asked before, so have you looked at it and rejected it? Have MS kept the file format secret?
    Thanks
    MG

This is not really an answer just my comments on your question.
I am sure I recollect efforts being made to get mhtml to work with FF.
Probably the important thing to remember about .mhtml is that if other browsers do support it they may need addons, and may not necessarily render the content correctly/consistently.
There are FF addons designed for archiving webpages, you could try them, but that then assumes the recipient has the same software.
You could simply save the page from FF to your XP pc; then offline open it with and save it using IE, before then emailing using FF, and attaching the .mht or mhtml file that you have now created on your PC.
As an alternative method, in some cases it could be worth considering taking a screen grab of the required page, then sending that to the recipient as a single email attatchment using either a bitmap or jpeg file format for instance.
Something such as an airline booking may be designed with a print option, possibly it could be worthwile looking at sending the print file itself as an email attachment.

  • I can no longer receive e-mail messages through my @mac/@me account. I can still send e-mail messages, though. I believe there may have been recent attempts to hack into my account. I have changed my password, but wonder how to start receiving mail again?

I can no longer receive e-mail messages through my @mac/@me account, though I still seem to be able to send messages. I believe there may have been recent attempts to hack into my Mail account (my LinkedIn and Facebook accounts were both hacked three days ago and a scam/phishing message sent to my contacts, and I know there was at least an attempt made to hack into one of my e-mail accounts). I have already changed my Apple password, but how do I start receiving mail again?
(And I should also say that I'm a little surprised there was no alert from Apple of suspicious activity on my account, if such was the case. Instead, when I logged into my account via Mobile Me three days ago I noticed that all messages in my inbox were gone as well as all of my contacts. I assume this was related to the current problem.)
    Thanks for all responses.

The problem has been solved with the help of a MobileMe online counsellor. My MobileMe account had in fact been hacked into and the fraudster had been redirecting my e-mail messages to a phony account that he controlled. We took the forward off and reset all my passwords and security questions, which solved the immediate problem.
    Thx.

  • How can i save the error message?

In the execution of the integration process, and i get

RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation: Exception:[java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Cannot cast to float. ] in class com.sap.aii.mappingtool.flib3.Stat method sum[com.sap.aii.mappingtool.flib3.Plainer@dddd08]
<b>Now what i want is to save this message.</b>
    <b>How can i save this message?</b>
Thank you for your advise and reading

    Hi,
An exception name is just any string, like, "timeout"
You usually have a control step, which waits for somethime (say a minute) and then transfers the control to exception handler, who handles the exception.
<i>but i dont know from where i get the exception?</i>
It not required for us to know from where the exception is raised as long as you have created an exception handler.
The integration process, will search for the required exception handler and execute it. Make sure, that the exception handler is in one of the branches of the block.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Smitha.
